2006 New jumper numbers:
Peter Street 11
Shaun Higgins 19
Travis Baird 20
Dylan Addison 22
Michael West 24
Tom Davidson 31
Brett Montgomery 43
Great to see Peter getting promoted to 11 - He'll perform better than Bandy and scary to see Missy getting 19. Hopefully he'll be good enough to shunt the curse. I'd be good to see (a good no) 19 running around again.
And of course Monty back to 43. Interestingly it looks like they rate Baird above of Addison by giving him the better no.

Think 20 and 22 are pretty much the same from the last wearers (Bowden and Harrison) although in the past there have been decent players to wear both:
20 - Edmond
22 - Ted Whitten Jr.

I've ben watching thew bulldogs since the early '70s. The first player I can remember wearing the #19 was a bloke called Gordon Polson. Never heard of him? Thats just the thing, no-one very memorable has ever worn the number, and whenever we give it to guys who should wear it well, like Zino Tzataris, then the wearer seems to have a lot of trouble establishing himself.
It's just a jinx!

Merrington. How did he play so many senior games?
Terry Love. Started well, looked a player early but never went on with it.
Shaun Higgins will give the number a dose of credibility.

Played cricket against Terry in underage. Used to get some very strange looks yelling "C'mon Love" at Arden Street and Vic Park.
I always liked Adam Contessa. He tried heroically to improve the status of No.19. (Maybe it held him back... :( )
Did Luke Beveridge wear 19?
Contessa was good

maybe they gave 20 to baird because he's more of a tall forward like edmond?
i think 31 was slowing streety down to be honest, he was a ruckman trapped in a forwards jumper.
K.T's number 31 mojo will work better with tom davidson at the helm.
Just hopy streety doesn't catch anything from bandy's 11.

I don't know if that was an intended pun or not - I just found it funny.
The pair of them couldn't catch a cold.
Wasnt Hugh Reimers a classic number 19 ?????

local, Merrington played 160+ games until about '77, and I didn't see his first few seasons, but he wore 19 for more than 100 of those games. Not the greatest player ever, bu a servicable one just the same.
Hopefully young Higgins can do for the #19 what Giansiracusa has done for changing the fortunes of #13 (previously graced by club legends like Mark Komp, Jimmy Plunkett and Allen Jakovich).....
