I remember a guy, think his name was Richard Soule (R.Soule LOL) playing for Tassie a few years back. Keeper. Man, did this gy eat all the donuts or what???

Let's not forget Mike Fatting (Gatting) of England, remember the pig released at the SCG? Plenty of other fat poms...Ray Illingwoth, Colin Milburn to name but two.

Wouldnt say Doug Walters was unfit, though his diet may not have been exemplary.

An ex skipper of Oz, WW Armstrong tipped the scales at 20 stone (in metric, big fat bastard).

Gary Gilmore and Greg Ritchie hit the top paddock after (or before)retirement too. (though I hear Ritchie has lost the excess?)


Perhaps an interesting game would be Fat Bastards XI v Skinny Sticks of Piss XI. Only real contest would be by the FB XI to get to the teas first!

Bruce Reid would be a starter for the latter I reckon!

Where was some guy who's surname was Cunningham who played for Tasmania a few years back. He was a bit of a porker, he used to waddle out to the crease and it was absolutely hilarious when he had to run between wickets.

About the two fat Taswegians... funny thing is both Richard Soule and Danny Buckingham were bloody wicketkeepers! I'd say they relied on blocking the area behind the wicket (and the sun) more than diving for catches!
