Cant help you, swifty. But 10,124 is reasonably good progress - a bit under 1/3 of the target at this stage.
Right on Christmas present buying season too. I imagine people will have more disposable money as the new year gets going.
What is the target? I have 32,000 in mind - am I right? Of course the sky is the limit let's get 40,000 plus.

Not sure what it was this time last year, but looking thougt some old members only emails, at kind of the beginged-mid january it was 12,500
If we have a good start to the season; we should do alot better then last year....look at our first 5-6 weeks....
vs Fremantle- YP- Winnable
vs Collingwood- TD- Winnable
vs Geelong- SS- No
vs Carlton- TD- Winnable
vs Essendon- MCG- Winnable
vs Kangaroos- TD- Winnable/ probable loss
Remember people its not were you are at Christmas it's where you are at the deadline. I think it was in 2004, we had 30 000 members or around about, before the start of the season, but it came to a hault there after.
Wins early are vital; if we can win 3-4 of our first 5-6 games we should have a signifigantly larger membership next year.

Good onya Books, first time or re-signing on, so long as if you can afford to do, every Hawk support that signs up for membership is helping out the club.
Understand the disquiet in your post DU but thing to remember is that traditionally many Hawks fans seem to sign up 'late' (i.e close to the start of the season). Me for instance being one of them (normally first match day of the season).
So long as numbers start to pick up now the new years arrived hopefully we can at least maintain status-quo and then look to build on it with the promise that the kids will hopefully bring.

There are so many way to give to the club. I personally buy a membership but like to buy stuff frmo hawks nest, nominate another member, sign up my dog as a pet patron and go to the events here and there.
the thing that stands out about Hawthorn supporters is most of us, are true to our team and buy a membership. And the ones that do buy one, it is your duty to remind those that don't or haven't to set aside, whatever you can afford to get one! If you go to the games, then buy a membership. Buy one and you will feel a sense of pride that you have done so! Much more value than the money spent.
I wan't them to be around for ever. If it came down to it, I'd sacrifice other things I love so i can afford a membership, just to keep them around.
After all, you are on this site reading this so they must be important to you!
Buy a membership now! Online, call the club and pay the money. Don't wait till tomorrow. Don't wait to go to the game to get one. A lot of people start the season that way and don't get one in the end. if you go, get one now and that way you'll have it for the NAB cup and hopefully get a mag from the club.

I've bought mine for twenty five years 'at the game' and never had to wait to get it (other than short time lining up). So not sure what you're getting at there WNYJ.
I'll be doing the same this year (hopefully next and the ones after that.. if I'm still around then). Important thing is to buy it if you can afford to do so, then when should be up to the persons choosing imo.

I also buy my membership every year at the tent outside the gate before the first game. An irritating consequence of doing this of course is the multiple reminders both in the mail and on the phone pleading with me to rejoin in the lead up ( and often after ) I fork the money over. Every time I receive one of these calls I suggest to the ( always friendly ) membership worker that the club could save a lot of precious dough by crosschecking the renewal date history of our members. The many people like myself who join up annually in the first couple of weeks of the season proper should be given untill, say..end of April before being sent costly reminders.
Not having the fixture in front of me I am relying on ( an often unreliable ) memory but I seem to recall being a little taken back at a fairly poor economic return the membership price this year. We play an inordinate amount of home matches interstate and yet are being asked to pay more than last year. I would think this will definately have an impact on the membership figure.

22 Sunday, 3rd September Geelong Telstra Home 14:10With four "home" games interstate and two "home" games at Telstra Dome (where your membership gets you seating in the top level only) and an increased price (again) - the Hawks are really testing their supporters patience, finances and level of commitment. I understand their need to spread their wings but it might be time to reward their "home base" supporters with some true value for money.

Ditto the club pushing it's luck/loyalty to the limit with the fixturing/pricing for this years memberships (more so on the back of recent success.. or more to the point, lack thereof).
But given that lack of success, given that one club was always going to cop the rough end of the pineapple re the draw, relocation of games etc, anyone really surprised that it was us? We've had pretty decent draws in reality for the last two seasons (04 was fantastic.. on paper to start the season off anyways.. shame how it turned out in the end). 06 the pendulum has just swung the other way.
Hopefully we can show some improvement on-field this year, get ch's seven and ten to want to fixture us in 07 "look at Hawthorn, they're a coming side, we want to see them on live television in important (i.e ratings) games".
What we get I feel we are going to have to earn for ourselves with how we perform and and we improve this year for long term benefit.
06 I'll wear as a bit of penance to past poor showings, now is the time to start to make up for that.

The increase in price is partly because Social Club membership is included with anything that is greater or equal to Social Seating, I think.

Am in Glasgow and am a Hawks fan. Just got my international membership forms through in the mail so will be taking out Hawks membership this year for the first time.
I'd like to see a bit more Brown & Gold on the weekly highlights package we get in the UK. Mostly its 2 minutes of the previous week's game slotted in with other highlights after they replay most of the previous week's "big game"...

Subscribe to the AFL broadband service. It's relatively cheap (about 20 pounds for the year) and you can watch all the games around 24 hours after they finish. You will need a semi decent broadband connection. Still, the service is far from great but hopefully it will improve this year.

I hate to say this, but Hawkk, you were right.
That draw is a disgrace. Or whats more of a disgrace is how
the club is YET AGAIN trying to take advantage of their fans.
So we have 5 home games at the MCG (i refuse to go to the Telstra Dump)
Great $150 membership for 5 games.
********en Fantastic
If this is what we get mext year, then 2007 will be the first time
i actually start paying at the door and refuse to buy a membership.
Can we stop with the Membership packages with $100 of useless
crap and star tgiving the hawk fans some respect and some value
for a change HFC?
I think we deserve it.
Go HAWKS!

Just ordered my first International Membership online! Being in the UK I obviously won't really get the benefit of a membership (the scarf will come in handy - 9 months a year!), but I reckon its a small price to pay to feel a part of the club. To my mind membership is about taking the good with the bad andf nailing your colours to the mast, but lets hope we're on our way to more good than bad.
I feel for you guys in Vic this year, as the fixture list has been terrible for Hawks members. Having so many home games out of state must be a bummer. Does changing the status of some of the away games make much of a difference to you? Admit it must be tough there paying a few hundred bucks when you're constantly being squeezed out from attending games! The club need every bit of support though, as its essential to securing our future in Melbourne and the AFL.
Go Hawks!

Was 12,000 at around 2.00pm yesterday (I sent an email to the club to find this out).
Could be better, could be worse, but hey, at least we're tracking around the same as this time last year.
