Avg Annual Rainfall for Sydney = 1175 mm/yr
Avg Annual Rainfall for Melb = 650 mm/yr

The Sydney tests should be abandoned in the future and Canberra should take its place which has a respectable 629mm/yr.

Adelaide = 520 mm/yr
Perth = 790 mm/yr

Nah, most cities have half of what Sydney gets, apart from Brissie which tops out at around 1200mm. Brisbane can be excused as it is a sub-tropical climate and heavy rainfall is to be expected.

But Sydney definitley has the crappest weather in Aus when you consider Brisbane's rain is usually in quick heavy dumps, but has perfect sunshine for something like 290 days a year.

Twice as often? No. Twice as much? Yes. There are actually more rainy days in Melbourne (147) than in Sydney (138).
