he's is already in full contact training, i watched him doing a fair amount of sharp turns and crashing packs at training this morning
he is the best option for full time FF (from what i saw today) and will be playing there during the scratch matches and wizard cup. may take a few matches before he gets used to the speed of the game ect so don't expect 8 goals on debut

Exactly, it is hard for us to say without really seeing him and knowing his progress. However, I think we should be more cautious than aggressive.

I'd imagine he's as fit as most other players in the squad. No point nursing him if he's gonna do his knee in the first few rounds. He may as well do it early and give the team time to find a replacement.

Looking forward to seeing this guy, with the delivery he'll get 60-70 sausages are on the cards this year, hopefully this level of success will make all teams look at mature ff's in the next few years, not likr they breed spearheads in the underage comps nowdays....

With Matera gone, it should leave FF as the #1 target when going forward. Its a huge plus for Smith, as in the past Matera played as a leading FF rather than a crumber. 60 goals is not a likely chance as AFL full backs are of considerably better quality than WAFL full backs.
It will be very hard for him to kick 60 goals. 40 should be a more realistic target for an AFL debutant coming off a knee injury.

I think a question I am asking is Brad Smith a better Full Foward than Troy Wilson was when he entered the AFL, from memory Wilson was 29 and Smith is just a few years younger. Wilson kicked 40, so could Smith kick more than that?

Watched him train this morning and i'll say this... If his knee stands up and he can get himself match fit Brad Smith will kick 60+ goals for us. He is a very solid boy who can lead and kick very straight.

He did a few good things. Glassy was playing on him this morning and Smith beat him on the lead a number of times. His speed off the mark for a big bloke is excellent. Recovery was poor but Im sure he didnt want to pull up and turn around quickly just in case his knee goes again. Certainly a lead and mark full forward. He will do very well at Subiaco in the open space.
Took a good grab on the lead against Glass and followed it up with a goal from a very tight angle. Watched him have about 6 or 7 practice shots from around 40m before competitive work and he drilled all of them.
Only time will tell but he is certainly our best option at the moment.

Brad Smith brings a big :D to my face.
I been watching him completely own on the training track for 2 years now, so its not surprising, and means he is showing some consistency :)
Cant wait for Smith to stitch up Maguire or Max H in round 1!

Will bring a smile to my face once we see this guy perform he has done nothing to say if he can play AFL or not so lets not get to excited just yet.
I really hopes that the guy does kick bags for us and can solve our FF problems.

Well, the hype around him brings the smile rather.

Don't laugh but I see Smith as a much fitter Scotty Cummings.
Good mark on the lead and only need four kicks a game to have an impact.
forty metres from goal and you could mark down a full pointer 90% of the time with scotty and with the delivery from our midfield and Coxy I can't see a fit Smith kicking less than 40to 50 for the season. There are similarities if you take away the fat arse and the mouth.
