Anyway I saw Hunter at the shops today buyin somethin for his car, so i went up and advised him that the place around the corner sells the same thing for a third of the price. Anyway we had a little chat :D

Man has he beefed up, he says he put on about 8kg already, I asked him why and he says too play on the CHF like Brown and Hall he needs to put on much more muscle (which I guess means he will play CHB next year). Anyway he certainly is a top bloke, very friendly and talkative bloke too:thumbsu: Looks like to me he is lookin at takin more responsibility in the defence so Glass can be a permanent full back.

On that boy! That **** is the reason we had any chance in the GF. What a champ he is. Went from "eh" in my book to "integral" during 2005.

I saw him down at the local Kebab shop down at Scarborough one afternoon in December

He did look a bit bigger but nowhere near as impressive as the girl he was with chest wise :D

:D What a legend. I wish all our boys would apply themselves like Hunter, Cox, Cuz and a few others (not in terms of girls with lungs but on the footy feild). I don't think there's more than 5 players on our list who wouldn't be guns if they all gave a crap, and I don't think a lot of teams can say that. But then we have our lazy bastards.

True, If Gardiner applied himself like those players do we would probably have ourself a premiership. Same with Sampi.

That is the biggest IF regarding Gards, sorry to say!

And, it'd be fantastic if Wombat applied himself just a little this season.:D
Would a 50% improvement be too much to expect?

Since when doesn't Gardiner apply himself?

The guy deserves a medal for all the injuries he's battled through.

i think we only played hunter up forward this year because he was the only person who could take a mark up there..this year will hopefully have more options in doogs and smith and hopefully gardiner will play a big role..even staker and seaby need to play there role as this is the year they need to step up! the other person who needs to step up the most this year is ashley sampi, with matera leaving us he will be our small cruming forward who will need to improve his workrate and fitness..

I actually asked Hunts bout playing forward, his response was pretty much when there is no really suitable player for him in defence he will play forward from the seems of it

So I guess he will be primarily a CHB but will swing forward every now and then to surprise teams and to really attack hard at teams with poor CHFs

Another bloke I seen about is Mitch Morton who also looks to have stacked on the pounds.

Makes sense. I mean if Smith lives up to expectations there won't be all that much necessity for Hunter to be up there.

I just heard on Sports Tonight Hunter will start the season in the Foward Line
Sumich said that If he doesnt go too well up foward we can always chuck him down back because he is a prooved backman
Also said Brad Smith has got the Green Light to play which is no big supprise
Hunter will be a good player anywhere he plays but having him up foward is a big bonus for us with the lack of fowards atm

Sumich is playing mind games, Smith Gaspar will do fine in the forward line atm and from what I seen at training these will be our 3 forwards, we dont need the help of Hunter in all honesty, he is much more valuable in defence, although there is a slight chance there plannin on Hunts playin up forward with McDougall switchin too defence but I see this as highly unlikely
