i'm guessing you only want batting highlights ??
there are far too many highlights on gilchrist. symonds has only the boxing day test highlights to his name in the test arena and if you start taping his games from here, you may well add to this yourself.
you may even be lucky enough to snag a gilly dvd , if one is brought out like warnes the spin king.

It's not exactly related but does anyone here apart from me think cricket is sort of missing out when it comes to DVDs? I know in footy, soccer, music, wrestling etc a massive part of the market now is sales from DVDs but cricket still doesn't seem to promote themselves correctly. Obviously this year's Ashes series would be an obvious candidate but other series I can think of would be West Indies v Australia 1999, Australia v India 2003/04 etc. Cricket is a game that lends itself to highlight selections so easily too.
Just a thought.

My guess would be to try this site (http://www.sportsdelivered.com/cgi-bin/at.pl?a=300020) which I usually go to for sport DVDs, or this site (http://www.aussietorrents.com), of which I saw an Andy Symonds fielding highlights video.
And Partridge, part of cricket "missing out" in this market would be due to the fact the game goes for so long. Other sports lend themselves well to DVD because you can watch an entire game in 2-3 hours, but with cricket it's a little different, and companies maybe CBF with sorting through days of footage to compile highlights...

I have The New Guard, except its the one with the grey cover. From memory i have seen one version of the dvd with one cover and another with this grey cover. . Anyway while i havent even watched this since buying it, this one has Ponting and Gilchrist on the front cover and the entire DVD is on them 2. Plenty of Gilly highlights there if you want. According to the contents has highlights on 8 Gilly tons. Got it just before Christmas. Got it at a good price too , around $14 from K-Mart, but it had this 'special christmas under-$15 sticker on it'. In general getting Gilchrist highlights shouldnt be too much of an issue.
symonds on the other hand would have nothing out there I'd imagine. Unless you got a hold of one of those World Cup Review type DVDs and saw some of his big ton against Pakistan. However, if you have broadband, it may be an option to go to aussietorrents and try downloading that game against New Zeland which has his 156 and i think you possibly may be able to get his 70odd against SA at the boxing day test. Post world cup he would have quite a few ODI highlights with man of the series performances against SL in SL and Eng & Bangladesh in Eng, but alas there is nothing out there.

Here's a bit of Simmo fielding, small but better than nothing...

I had a big whinge about this not that long ago. Alot of them do exist, just not in Australia. The Ashes is out on a 3 disc set, India v Aus 2001 is out, but the problem is they are all overseas, no Australian places sell em, Ezydvd has the Ashes, but they just order as requested from the UK
They used to release some of the Aussie home test series on video, but stopped but they sucked anyway, no real highlights when you shove 5 tests into 1 hour :thumbsd:
