Stop the press!
4 of the last 5 wickets after being smashed by the top order for 5 rpo off 10.
Then the unselfish captain brings himself on to clean up the tail and make his bowling stats look half respectable (which they're still far from).
All this after again failing with the bat, despite supposedly being a 'batsman'.
What a player!
I'm currently in the process of organising a parade for him when he gets back. And I'm also chartering a large group to greet him at the airport. We can all chant

You never fail to dissapoint.
Firstly you claim Katich is better than Smith based on five innings. Which was comical enough.
Then you claim White to be better than MacGill because of ONE innings.
Quite hilarious.
Both comparisons and indeed your opinions become laughable when looking at the players CAREER records.

Tell me what makes him good? apollo_creed has made a lot of relevent points as to why he isn't as good as people (Victorians) make him out to be. Why don't you scroll up and take a look at some of the comments made not only in this thread but the "overatted hack" thread.

In batting of course White is better. This is Cullen's first full season and already the players and selectors are tipping him for the next baggy green.

where exactly have they said this, i havent seen any evidence of this? he averages an impressive 40 with the ball :rolleyes: With the amount he bowls he should average at least mid 30s.
And what relevant points has AC made i dont see any at all. :confused: :confused:

Look at the stats this season and over their careers then tell us how White is so far inferior to Cullen, Bailey & Casson.
My initial thread was a troll but it doesn't take long for all the rabid anti-Victorians to froth to the surface. Getting an angry response anti-thread like this from a clearly upset and biting ac, is gold!
All those who hate White can only say he is crap and overrated no stats to back it up. These same individuals pump up the tyres of Cullen, Bailey & Casson as being something special - that they may well be, but there isn't that much difference between their numbers and White's, except for the fact White averages 29 with the bat.

Were you not watching the test series just finished Vs Sth Africa? On the Cricket Show they had a question which was who do you think will be the next to pull on the baggygreen and they asked all the Aussie players. I think 8 out of 9 players they asked said Cullen.

White will be a good batsman later on and a decent spinner.
Cullen will be a good bowler.

Most spinners get their wickets from tail-enders. But White's not allowed to do that, even though his stats are better than Casson's.
It was a great performance from White, but he has a long way to go as a spinner. Good signs though for him. Let's leave it at that.
