iam sure they can, but if jock wants to dictate how, who is in the side or for what ever the reason for the fallout, then maybe he should take over the reins...If he wants to pour his money into the club so be it, but filo is an old fox and knows what is best for his side, leave the coaching up to the blokes that know how to do it..

If you look on the website http://bendigo.vcfl.com.au/memdb_transfers.asp its actually been rejected. But in saying that I was speaking to a eaglehawk person who is adamite that he will line up there on saturday. Guess we'll find out saturday.
No way he will play anywhere this week, he still has a gammi hammi.

What about the saying make your bed lie in it. Does this show the character of the bloke , no matter what the suitation he has sighned with the football club and he should see out that obligation/contract. Personaly I think that the way country footy is going we need people who take stands against inhouse bullshit, I will also add that if they can get through this they will be better for it, if not it will all fall apart

There is no question to Filo's character as he has shown many times over in this league and prior. The question is also to be throw at the club about holding up there end of any obligations, letting him coach a team he puts on the ground and not be hamstrung or overseen by the bloke with the bucks as stated in previous blogs. If he stays or goes it can't be good for the club.

Blokes underwriting club costs have a history of ending in tears. Just look at the times it has happened in the AFL. (Melb-Guttnik) They always look for some sort of return on their investment.

To True, there is more to a football club than 1 mans enourmous wallet. Tell him to go buy a horse or something that needs no team spirit or any1 elses thoughts or ideas.
If i was Filo id be pissed and would leave also. And if the money man really wants to run the show then tell him to coach.
Every1 wins that way he can do what he likes and spend as much money as he likes on his beloved recruits.

Just wandering if this is thread is only about Balranald Football Club, going back over the past 4 pages, one would think we were the only club in the league. While I love reading some of the crapp that is posted on here regarding our great team, one would think others would like to read a little about other teams.
How is Leitchville Gunbower feeling now that they have played a couple of the top sides, would have to be a little worried now that they may not make top 5?
Anyone from Tyntynder keeping up with Joel Coates state of health after his injury on Saturday. Still in Melbourne and not very well at all.
See there is other news in the league other than the Shawn Filo saga!!!!!

Not as interesting though o Sensible one!
You can try to take the attention of your "great team" but it wont stop people being interested.. This is the biggest news going around the comp currently and this wont change until the general public get more info on why Filo wanted a clearance!!

Leitchville Gunbower play Balranald, Tyntynder & Toolybuc Manang only once in the home & away season (DREAM DRAW). Being the 4th best team in the comp they are a fair chance to be 15 wins & 3 losses. If i was a betting man i'd say that 15 wins will give any team a finals berth. I don't think they are worried about missing finals, but they would be about winning one. A final that is!

If you have coached a successfull footy side ,then you will know that coaching to that success, is everything, and other aspects of your life have to take the backseat
What aload of rot! Filos life is football, You can not tell me that she wouldnt of had some sort of influence in the decision making process to head up inthat direction .As lovers of footy and the league we all deserve the right to know. With big price tags comes some pretty big responsibilities and expectations, wouldnt you think:confused:

Anyone got an idea of who's gonna pull off another win this week?
Tyntynder vs Leitchville Gunbower (big game)
Balranald vs Cohuna
Tooleybuc Manang vs Swanhill (another big game)
Nyah Nyah West United vs Kerang
Lake Boga vs Woorinen
Lalbert vs Koondrook Barahm
Are the Pioneer boys pulling the boots on for Swanny against Tooleytang?

Storey is when they play reserves they dont get paid, this is why Jocks nephew left, because he is only in it for the money, not to play for his home town. He has never been committed to Balranald, come and played for us one year, the only descent game he gave us was against Balranald after that he should have been dropped to our reserves. He a real ****head.
Fact is that zoomy was sick of travelling up from melbourne each week and when his housemate Joffa asked him to play down at Kilcunda, (about 4 hours less travel each week) he jumped at the chance.

its because he wasn't gonna be in their best 22, stop sticking up for him because we all know the reason. you can't go around getting 5-10 touches against the ordinary sides and 1-5 against top sides and hold your spot its that simple. the guy is a 2's player at any of the top 4 sides and that is a fact.

So with Swan Hill to play Balranald and Tyntynder in the next fortnight and Kerang to play T/M, Balranald & Tyntynder the game at kerang between Swan Hill and Kerang will probably detrmine who finishes in 5th position with Kerang holding a far better percentage. Any predictions on who will finish 5th?
Also can Leitchville get back into top 3 or will T/M hold onto double chance from nowl. One would feel that T/M would have to drop 2 games, more than likely the games against Tyntynder & Balranald as they have far better percentage than L/G.

it's an absolute disgrace. i think we take the bronze cover which is 50% of non medicare up to $2000 with $100 excess fee. we have a guy in a situation at the moment who is gonna be out of pocket quite substantially due to this policy and the fact that he doesn't have loss of wages insurance, it is up to individual player.
next year we will be encouraging all contracted players to take out their loss of wages cover and it can come out of their first couple of match payments.

The cover is probably not good enough but all players are given the option of loss of income insurance and are stupid if they do not at least take out some form of it. We as players know the risk of playing sport, we are not professionals and we all know where our true form of income will be derived. Country clubs and the VCFL can not be held accoutable for this.
It is a shame when it happens to someone and i am one who has lost out because of a football injury but i was stupid enough to say no to loss of income insurance

Then tell the VCFL to Increase it. The clubs can only choose Bronze,Silver Gold or Platimum. And the only difference is the % of payment. The major problem is the fact that the VCFL insurance does not cover any items that medicare payout on.
And that is here the biggest gap is. I was in the same boat Surgen and Anithisst 3500 Medicare paid 1100 so i was 2400 out of pocket which the footy club ins dont touch.
Physio and Room cost 1000
Footy club Ins tips in 1000 - 100 excess * what ever percentatge of cover. i got about 630 bucks back and was out of pocket a total $2770

1. how did he help filo out by playing a game in the 2's, was it so he could bring another one of jocks paid players in and really he felt it was a load of crap and left?
2. did you wear your gloves on the weekend, the slippery ball has a tendancy to slip through the mits on wet days.
why would i hold a grudge against someone i have only had contact with on the field albeit small periods of time due to him sitting on the pine a fair bit. as the great tony grieg once said 'a grudge is simply a place to park your car' and i agree. ppl can talk about any player they want how they want on this site as it is a footy forum. unless you are personally attacking someone as a person then you can say whatever they want and i am only having a crack at him as a footballer.

yes i enjoy watching him play footy and no i havnt seen him play every game.. i think alot of guys like to have fun playing footy and not all try to make it big mate.. clearly he wanted to go back to balranald and play with mates..

Zoomy doesn't play for fun, he plays for money. He is not good enough to play in Balranald's top 22, he doesn't know the meaning to come and play with his mates, he only knows to play for money. So when told he wasn't good enough to play for money he decided to stay in Melbourne.
Victor Kiriakis and Stefano Demeara to make an appearance at the Balranald game this week.

Russ that is the stupidest thing you have ever posted, get a grip!
Insurance is a worry, i was saved due to the fact that i had private cover also, no out of pocket expenses at the hospital, but still out of pocket with club cover. All players over 30 should have a look at private due to the medicare 1% levy imposed, works out about the same to get private cover. Whether or not players are club stalwarts or mercenaries all should be made aware of what is on offer to make an informed choice and to make sure they are covered for all outcomes.

Would he be missed as part of the balranald midfield they have just bolstered it by adding jason dennis, Shawn would be a more important cog at eaglehawk where his hard work in the centre would bring in the eaglehawk runners, and play with his brother and win a premiership, there would be no coaching to worry about for him either, i think if he goes to eaglehawk they will win the premiership and it would be more satisfying then opening the cheque book and buying every footballer looking to make a quick buck as is happening at balranald

Shawn Filo would not play in the centre for eaglehawk. He would join brodie and derrik in the forward line.

too true! there are too many to choose as they steal votes from each other such as balranald and tyntynder. What about the rookie of the year this year, seems to be some young talent going around. Anyone got any inputs as to the rookie of the year? you stay classy san diego

Excuse that I have no idea what happened there. Not sure if it has been mentioned earlier and apologies if it has, but how come Woorinen is the only club in the local area that ever give players the 'sack'?? It has happened time and time again over the past couple of years....and one of the blokes that was sacked is now coaching them. What goes on out there???:confused::confused:

is this one of forsyte idea's, does anybody know how the sheep dog is going..how is he coaching, it would be a bit hard for him to sacrifice his own game for the team and not rack up possies in the back half...

Trip, do you think they are setting their standards to high? or do they need to find someone who knows what to look for in a footballer , not for the sake of getting as many footballers to that club as they can.

It just goes to show the thought process that goes on there..Maybe the bloke that is coaching was a little immature before... As for the others i dont know but on the grape vine one had a few issues back home the other was a sook, who bragged about how good he was but couldnt get a kick in a street fight....:eek::eek: Just because some blokes can play footy doesnt necessarily mean they are going to be good club people.....

Don't know about the jumper change, sounds like a bit of a furphy to me. Not a huge fan of 'Bluey", too much chipping and handball in the game plan, trying too hard to replicate the AFL and can't do it Kerang always perform better with fast direct football. However in defence of "Bluey" he has found it hard this year as the "cattle" on the paddock just are'nt there like last year. Could be a victim of his own recruiting and ego??? Seriously lacking in the big man department which hurts, if only there were a few of the PECK family left to carry on.
One good player to remain at the club is Mark WALTERS, who i think handles himself well week in, week out. Anyone else have an opinopn on the bloke and who will take the helm of kerang next year?

Hard too know which way too take it, do you give credit too them from setting standards. Or question why they continue to recruit ppl who nned the sack?? Probably the latter, and did they just sack them to save some coin???

Breaking news, misfortune for Tooleybuc. Mark Norton comeback put on ice for another year after falling over a straw at a notorious King St. nightclub and rupturing his anterior cruciate, which will now require reconstructing. The only positive out of this mess is that the goggles were undamaged (no facial injuries) so the modelling career on the catwalks of Milan is still on the cards.

Just remember that Bluey is one player out of 22. It is known fact that last years Blues outfit is probably quite a few goals better than this season. But I think that Bluey is doing a fair job with what he has on hand at the moment. This season has been more about blooding young, local blokes. Maybe up to 6 colts kids have played seniors this season, and all have bright futures.

Spot on Appin, Bluey doing well with the blue collar footballers he has, not flashy types but blokes who work hard. Some classy colts coming through to work with next year. Injuries haven't assisted him either with top players going down long term.

Yes, a "Fair job" ( defeated on the weekend by 20+ goals) he has done and the side may want to take a leaf out of the Woorinen club book of tricks and save some money? Sack a few of these so called recruits and look forward to looking after the young guys, seriously isnt going to make any difference at this stage of the year, it's a write off. Bluey wouldnt have the salt to do it though, too friendly with the money men??
Tend to find that Kerang looses a lot of their young footballers to the big smoke, as has had occurred for many years now. Some local teams, both CMFL and GRFL manage to keep more of their younger crop as the years go by, which helps no end for the strength and future of the clubs.

Who are the money men? No big $ down there this year and it would be more of a committee decision to cut players to save dollars not the coaches. You are dead right the season is gone though.

Is he going to be coach for 2008 or no word yet? Will they continue to look north for recruits or closer to home? On the scoreboard they seem to be the brad hodge of the cmfl, big scores against the minows, no such luck agaisnt quality opposition, struggling to score

you seem like a very loyal kerang supporter there jambee. so, kerang are having a bit of a tough year competing with teams that have spent HUGE $$$$$, they have lost a lot of players from last years runners-up team. what do you expect from them? i am interested in knowing who these big paid recruits that are playing so badly that they should be axed from the club are? how did your beloved walters go on the weekend?

Yes the committee would have the job but the coach surely has some input, which i dont think he would handle very well. Look i dont mind the bloke as a player but he has a long way to go to develop as a good coach, not sure that he is ideal for the job, was going well as assistant, could be a better role for him?
There is still money being spent and if you were the investor ( the club) then you wouldnt be unhappy with the returns. I will clarify the players and get back to you (Parkes and co), if they did a bit more i could remember them all?? Of this years recruits Crawford could be the pick?.

Loyal yes and it doesnt hurt to have an opinion, its the idea of this site to share and discuss with you alll, isnt it?
Point taken with the other BIG $$$ sides, suppose we had a crack at it last year. Pity country footy is now stuffed because of it! Would be great to be able to develop consistancy for a few seasonds but it is now near impossible. If the $ were watched as i believe they are meant to be then we might all be happy little campers and i would shut mu cake hole.
"Beloved WALTERS", had it a bit rough, why put him on Arentz when you would put him up the field to assist in stopping the ball getting to him in the first place?
Fellow Carlton supporter. He is a ok, maybe about 75% of Ash "Bubbles" WEDDING when on song. Big Omar stated some honest hard workers at the club but cant qiute cope against the big guns.

No word on next year yet, he would be a good chance to keep going, you need to give him time, first year coaches always find it hard, he has done alright from my point. North has proved to work for the blues with the mix of the good local youth. The score when allowed to run, big body's of the better sides find them out abit, when up and allowed to run they are very good.

pacco you really need to be more serious with your posts. surely you don't think he was ever gonna leave but it sounded good while it lasted. 2 blokes in 2 yrs have quit half way, wonder if it will hold the same fortunes for them this year.
