Robbo can seriously play, thats completely true about the 50+ possessions in a few games, only prob he gets a bit narky towards own teammates if things dont go his way. Great recruit
Can also get easily distracted if he is heavily tagged. Some teams used two taggers, running one off the bench, which worked quite effectively. Will run on to his left foot at every oppurtunity.

He was moving well at training last night, not 100% yet, but no worse than year. I think the rub down Styles gave him afterwards helped ease the pain.;) I'm with Dockers, he'll kick over 100 again.

Over paid players hey. You guys should step into the Central Murray Football league. All you have to do is say that you can play the game get a couple of your mates to say the same and then the next thing you dont need a job you can just play football for more money then your local hooker. Its not unusuall to see players in that league take home over $1000 a week for running around in white boots flicking back hair and getting the occasional kick. Everyside has one or two or even in some cases a little higher up north 18. if anyone knows of a player in there team or league that can beat over $2000 a game not to coach but to play feel free to let me know so someone there can hand you the biggest sucked in trophy.
There was a team last year that every time they ran out onto the field it would cost them around $15,000.Yep and they Lost the Flag and most players from that team has left them this year. Forget getting up in the morning and going to work come to our league and live like kings.

An interesting concept from some one in the Sunraysia Forum and their views on balranald's antics

Footy wise what does it prove when a club eg Balranald spends a fortune on "big name players" in an effort to win a flag? (unsuccessfully recently)
It doesn't prove that your town has the best footy talent either bred or skilled up by a strong junior setup.
It simply says that someone a dumb but wealthy supporter is putting in a quid.
What do they get out of it?

It could be that your town has a footy club committee that are doing a power of work to raise a quid in the so called struggling rural communities.
Commendable but how should it be spent on Joe (show me the money) Bloggs who played two games in the vfl ( Diggers ) three years ago and three of his mates that drive up Saturday morning charm the local girls and ******** of Sunday morning (if they stay that long)
It ********es me of but I dont know what you can do about.
Maybe a points system would work
Maybe spending your hard earned on your facilities and perhaps a topline coach. By that I dont mean one that insists that you buy every player he thinks you need. But one that can teach kids the skills required and how the game is played. Perhaps that means that your best coach is not fronting your senior side but you under 18's or even lower.
If you've got that much cash get topline coaches in all grades.
Enough!!

I don't really know about the jake matthews page you'd have to ask the person who started it. I don't think it has anything to do with him deserving recognition i think its just one of his mates taking the ******** and i'm sure jake isn't happy about it. You obviously haven't seen him play recently because he hits packs pretty hard and takes a lot of contested marks so i don't know where the scouting packs comment comes from.

sadly most of this is true.. How ever in the case of balranald.. Merv Neagle is no idot. He is one of very few people in the league who you would regard as a coach. He would have bought the best players he could for the money he could.. As big as it may be. Some of these players may not be great, but sadly for balranald to be competitive with tyntynder and Swan Hill.. League leaders.. they have to spend this money.. In the cmfl it is become survival of the fittest.. The harder your club works to pay players the better they are... hence tooley manang and balranald being competitive for once.. Tyntynder and swan hill have very small supprter and spend less money due to convienience of location.. Is sad that clubs get raped but it is a way of life.. for the outer clubs it is a case of survival of hardest working club. 15 greand a week is the difference between swan hills ability to attract players and balranalds.. ..

Rumour has it you played a serviceable game at full back on the weekend after getting towelled up by one of the leagues new excitement machines when you were up the field a little further. People are doubting the back line at the dogs but I think it is very handy especially with yourself the rock of gebrolta down there.

I think the dogs have a fantastic running side they have always been very hard to beat due to there young kids having the legs to run all day. I think they are a great chance for grand final this year i just think that they lack a tad down back and also a ruckman.

I agree lalza the dogs lack a little down back but I would say there are 11 other sides who could do with a couple of handy backmen. The dogs do lack a little in the ruck dept. but have found a valuable contributor to fill that void and with the majority of the premier big men in the comp playing elsewhere this year i think they are on par with the majority of the clubs.
I predict top 3 finish!

You have broken the code lalza, no name guessing. Most people know who other people are so dont try to be a hero and guess. You are obviously a 'jet' yourself to be bagging someone of Hugh's ability. Im sure he would take you to the cleaners. Also, if he wanted to talk himself up then good on him, it just means he needs to back it up, aka Jason Akermanis.

My phylosiphy has always been "You need to love yourself before you can love anyone else".

Brett Peken (SH): Don't believe the hype surrounding Hugh Footts signing to the swans, big bustling Brett Peken is the rock on which the foundations of the swans premiership defence will be built. Loves to bust a pack or two, should make the forward pocket his own this year.
Jarrod Frame (Tyn): Has had a massive pre-season on the mixed netball court, looks fitter and hungrier than ever. Will add bite and pace to an already potent bulldogs midfield, J-Rod loves turning it on for the crowd.
Nick Jarman (Ker): A recruiting coup from the blues, Shawn Filo be willing look for Jars to fill the backline playermaker role, much the same as Luke Kelly or Kieren Tracy. A deadly left foot that turns defence into attack at the blink of an eyelid.
Trent Collins (LB): Not for his football ability, but because he is so damn good looking!

On a different topic i was wondering wether anyone has information on this years colts? I have heard that Swan Hill will be a force and will be the benchmark of the competition. With the likes of Tempelton,Gaylor,Thoolen and Moloney it seems Swan Hill will be the team to beat, Any other thoughts ?

It seems Swan Hill colts may be the team to beat.. just ask one of their many blow arse players... Being from Barham we should be strong and also kerang.. But how will they stop Tyntynder's midfield TBEASY? i think the raiders, blues and the dogs will teach them how to play hard footy

Sorry to jump on to this so late fellas, but just couldnt let it past. Lalza you tosser, you accuse foott of talking himself up, and then leave the impression 'that time will tell' if he would take you to the cleaners, which in turn indicates that you think that you may be a remote chance to match his ability. He was an AFL listed player you wan ker, played with Norths VFL affiliate for a full season, then Ballarat for two seasons injured. You must be some sort of player if you think you can match that. However, we will nerver know because i GUARANTEE that you will be too much of a pussy to put a name to these comments.

What do people think about the old you scratch my back and I will scratch yours when it comes to clearances of players? For example if 2 players from Team A go to Team B in 2005 and in 2006 a different player from Team B wants to go to Team A should Team B automatically sign the clearance or not, considering they gained 2 players from that club the previous year?

Did anybody see the report on Swan Hill going back to back on WIN news on Friday night? Coach Shaun Murray was quoted as saying the teams to beat are Swan Hill, Balranald, Tooleybuc/Manang & Lalbert any thoughts?
On the mail I have Lalbert haven't improved enough to be a contender but have definately improved. The other 3 teams are fair enough but I was surprised there was no mention of Tyntynder, Lake Boga or Woorinen. Is this a little arrogance by the swans or just pressure in front of a news crew?

Champ your making me blush:p Have you seen me before? Was it when I was at my devistating best for HAY, WOORINEN or QUAMBATOOK (I played a night series game with them this year). I think its sick that clubs in the CMFL are prepared to take players from another club but when someone wants to leave the club and play at the club where they have already received players from they wont clear them. I know of 2 clubs that are doing this at the moment. It doesn't matter whether its Colts, 2nds or Seniors if someone doesn't want to play at your club don't make it difficult for them. I would only want players on my team who were 100% committed to playing with that group.

Sure Cliffy, as a matter of fact I was on the pingers with Laurence Angwin and Karl Norman only last weekend! No seriously, I haven't come across any recreational drug use at all in my club, although I sometimes wonder whether Luke Kelly suffers from the effects of long term drug use.

Not from the Tyntynder camp sorry hales but can give you some info in regard to Rogers. I am led to believe he is lightning quick and very strong overhead and can play as a small key position player. I was speaking to someone from Cohuna last week and he said Rogers destroyed them in the practice match between the 2 clubs last weekend. Definately one to watch for the Dogs this year.
