How do u guys think the Kangas will go this year after already being beaten by 9 or 10 goals against tyntynder, should they keep the same side again for this week or should they look towards some of the younger kids playing in reserves, just a couple of names
Boddie Arthur (18 years old): Had a big pre season, gave the Kangas seconds a lot of run, looks like he loved to go in a get the hard ball and looks like he can handle himself well on the bigger guys. Played across the CHB line but always seamed to be getting the ball on about the wing area. looks like a player of the future for the Cohuna Kangas.
Troy Woolhouse (20 years old): Also had a big pre season came first in all the time trials is very quick, can run all day, the only thing with him is that he can get a bit impatient, looks like a player of the future if he plays the same way as he did yesturday.
They could be in the seniors very shortly.
Has anyone heard of these two young fella's?

Things are looking good for L/G, however dont get ahead of youselves, they played an undermaned Lallbert outfit on the w/e, and lets face it Lalbert arent all that good at the best of times, let alone when missing players. In saying that i still think L/G will make a good impression on the league.
Look out for Nook Mansell up forward, hes very fit after a season of footy in Darwin, and when you look at the scorecard he obviously knows how to finish well, 9 goals isnt an easy task!

a guess at these teams would have me thinking definatly towards swanhill and kerang as the stand outs! and then tynynder and koondrook barham will supreise alot of people as well!
afta playing against both these teams kerang are a far slicker and taller side and would have 2 be odds on favourites

Will be interesting to see how these guys perform over the next couple of weeks. Kangas played a very young side on weekend & skill errors were crucial going forward. The scoreboard did not truly reflect the difference between the two side, Tyntynder will be a top five side again this year, quality midfield with couple of key forwards.
Test for Kangas will be over next few weeks with games against a couple of sides who finished outside the 5 last season.
Cohuna will have a lean year butchered the ball and afta half time the younger boys didnt have the legs to finish off against men

doubt he has been dropped know it all, been in the best 2 out 0f 4 games. the TAC have a bye for state championship try outs. Chris Prockter has been selected to try out for the Vic Country squad which is a real credit to the guy. Congratulations Chris from the Tyntynder Football Club

My my my, It seems after observing much commentary from outsiders and such blasphemous opinions from Go Cohuna that the Kangas are a side with no glory forthcoming. A Bleak outlook indeed. Will they protrude through the darkness or dwell in the dark? Only time will tell.

hawks i have a reasonabley close connection with the tyntynder colts. we have great numbers and the majority have been training with the senior group of a tuesday and thursday which is a real credit to them, showing their enthusiasm to learn more about the game. cohuna won't be as bad as what the scoreboard showed on saturday think they will go very close to making the 5. unfortuantely we had 2 key injuries to our FF in the 1st minute and CHB in the 2nd quater, both these guys will miss a minimum of 10 weeks.

yes mate but every club goes thru this once in a while cohuna are just in a rebuilding stage in two years or so when these kids turn into men they will be a bloody good club, these kids have some great skill cohuna just have to worry about keeping them all at the club and spend some money on some handy recruits then things will fall into place at cohuna! :thumbsu:

I think everyone on here is being a bit harsh on Cohuna. Last year they only finished outside the 5 by one game. They have lost a few over the off season but the kids have stepped up out of the Colts and once they get the pace of the game and understand about playing 4 quaters of footy they will win their fair share of games this year.
The senior coach has a great understanding of their kids and Neil bradley is coaching their Colts this year and in my opinion he will be great for them. So if Cohuna have the right peopel at the helm of their junior brigade and a committee that is proactive and looking towards the furture then they can be a real competitive unit in this league over the next few seasons.

Good point.Cohuna have a lot of good kids coming through plus a lot who have left to go to uni and other places, the same goes for each club but its more rewarding for clubs if they can succeed without bringing in a shitload of paid players.

cohuna would have a decent colts side if the likes of crichton,wishart,bruns,williams werent expected to play seniors everyweek
as for the seniors its just hard to field a competitive team without paying $hitloads as all 18 -19 yo moving away as to go 2 uni and jobs

Why did cohuna waste money on marty warry, wouldnt they try to get players in their prime or are they just atttempting to get every player who played in the last game for fitzroy to paly for the club, they are a long way off from their glory days in the late 90's early 00's how long since the club has participated in finals

Bit of a surprise win by the Raiders over L/G from what I'd previously read on this thread. Anyone able to give me a match reveiw on that game or any of the other matches?

Why it seems that the way I utilize this forum has come under some scrutiny, which I believe is unwarranted. Roota I think it is fair to say Marcus Nalder and Lance Brown have proved themsleves in this competition but i have heard from a few that Justin Davies is stil yet to perform, i watched him on the weekend against tyntynder, he was flashy but did not seem up to the afl standard of his name.

Roota I think it is fair to say Marcus Nalder and Lance Brown have proved themsleves in this competition but i have heard from a few that Justin Davies is stil yet to perform, i watched him on the weekend against tyntynder, he was flashy but did not seem up to the afl standard of his name.
Fair point, but he has proven himself in the GVFL (one of the best if not the best league in the VCFL) i think it is only a matter of time until he hits his straps

wew ere excellent after half time and needed to be of course considering we were behind. good to see the new guys having an impact and our youngsters have stood up both weeks so its looking very promising for us. we will be top 2 easy i would imagine.

Appauling as it may seem, but it looks as though The Rumour Mill is falsely accusing Mickey of being THE ACE. It seems as though this thread is being used to post personal insults about punctuation and grammer and not information about football, can someone please tell me the last time spelling and grammer was used to depict someones football knowlege?

The closest match of the round will definitely be Balranald and Lake Boga, The Roos at home should capture victory against the magpies who were gallant in defeat last week. The players that were struck down by injury will prove too much of a burden. Tooleybuc and Swan Hill will decimate there opposing undermanned teams of Nyah and Lalbert respectively.
