the kid was in he bottom 6 for selcetion on the weekend and just made it into th team, he's been running past to many contests however once he gets the ball he has been useful with his speed and good skills, snaggin a goal most games, the lad just needs to find more of the pill. It will be interesting to see if he's in the line up this week!

can anyone confirm that former sth mildura player wayne keyte has signed with tooleybuc?

Money Talks
14 May 2008, 15:49
If this is the same Wayne Keyte that I am thinking of he also played in a premiership with the Demons back in the Tony Berry days. From what I have seen of the Tooleytangs this year he would struggle to get a game in the late game. Might have to kick the dew off of the grass.

Good ROUND OF FOOTY this week lads, the kerang and lalbert game, and the cohuna and letchville game and nyah and balranald game all pretty much went to plan. tyntynder had a good win over a very undermand lake boga side, were it was good to see that ace pull on the boots in the ones! woorinen played well agianst toolybuc, the score board not really showing the true result, the young tigers played a very exciting brand of footy. but the biggest suprise was that of which the ease swanhill won with over barham? any one got any feed back? on this or any games? or injury news.
Ah Micky my friend, you are correct in saying that Swan Hill's dominating performance was the greatest surprise of the weekend's action. And as usual you do not put your bias aside when discussing woorinen. Your accusation however of myself taking the field in seniors and for Lake Boga nonetheless are indeed incorrect, I believe your idea of my identity is severely misconstrued. I am unsure as to who you perceive me to be however you have definitely got it wrong.

if boga does get mick back they will be really pushing for the top 5. they may start to struggle for points though, last weekend they had 34 points and i think they are allowed 41? add in mick dedini, josh jenkins, nodin peters plus the 6 they had missing last week cant see how they can fit all them into 7 spare points.

Balranald citizens sticking together I see. Suga your team had a few flaws firstly Lonergan in the forward pocket, please tell me the last time Lonergan played there, he is a very skillful player but has been a key back for the last few years. I think you should definitely do some research and maybe gain some knowledge before attempting to construct an ultimate team, and not just thieve names from previously posted teams and then continue to alter a few positions and then claim an original masterpiece.

i personally think that the quality of the football write ups has dropped over the last 3-4 years, especially since my namesake left. the friday pre match write ups are the same each week and don't include any comments from coaches or football departments which may prove that the writer may not be trying or that no one wants to give her anything (that is not a crack at her writing ability). we used to have a 4 page spread in the middle on mondays and fridays with great photos from around the grounds including junior and netballers and it has defiantely dropped off. i only purchase monday and friday papers for the footy and its disapointing that i can read it in 5 mins.

It seems that personal attacks are becoming quite prevalent within this thread. Much conflict arising from differing opinions. How ones cricketing ability factors into anything relevant on this thread is beyond me, and predicting the future of our friend Mr. Griffiths is a quite treacherous thing to do as your attacks will seem less scathing if he does in fact end up playing elite level cricket. Which is indeed plausible. And one more thing to my friend Micky who refuses to be known as the Ace's friend. A wise man once said if you're any good you won't have to talk yourself up other people will do that for you... Probably good advice young fella.

Wat do people think about some of the footy write ups in the Guardian these days?? I have noticed a few to be quite negative, talking down the footy skills of some teams. Surely people rather read about the great passages of play on the day, wouldnt you agree?

The same as I've always thought....absolute rubbish written by people who either never played or played badly and who know zero about the game. Some of the stuff written over the past 10 years would be laughable if it wasnt so bad. The votes given even more so. These clowns often use their write ups to downgrade players and teams through sheer spite and jealousy. Most never made it so bring down those who have. The only bloke that used to be great to read was Bill McCartney.

Mr Clifton used to do a good job. You could tell that he had a genuine love for sport which i think is half the problem with most of the others.

Maybe the big fella should return

Have to agree with much of what you say Russ..
A certain writer seems to have made it his mission to publicly downgrade United in the past few weeks. Everyone knows we are struggling on field a bit, but questioning the future of the club was a bit over the top!!
And as for the votes, agree again!!
Carrol was good and kicked 7, but i thought Parsons was a cert for votes last week and didn't score.. Anyone at the United v Tynt game agree??

i personally think that the quality of the football write ups has dropped over the last 3-4 years, especially since my namesake left. the friday pre match write ups are the same each week and don't include any comments from coaches or football departments which may prove that the writer may not be trying or that no one wants to give her anything (that is not a crack at her writing ability). we used to have a 4 page spread in the middle on mondays and fridays with great photos from around the grounds including junior and netballers and it has defiantely dropped off. i only purchase monday and friday papers for the footy and its disapointing that i can read it in 5 mins.

Have to agree with you lookalike. The write ups these days are dreadful. I swear somedays they just pick out a few names and stick them somewhere into their report. Surely it wouldn't hurt to ring a couple of coaches and get their view points. It smacks of hypocrisy when the guardian complained a few years ago about clubs not handing in the correct teams for fridays paper, yet they don't put in any effort in their write ups what so ever.

And sugakane, your a talented cricketer, but stop talking yourself up. There is a much better and faster young bowler than you at Nyah Dist. Your pedestrian compared to him.

Yeahh thanks Russ its good to see someone else sharing my point of view, I hate to criticise 'a few' of these editors even though they would probably be volunteers and unpaid but seriously the write up i read on 'our' game on the weekend just bagged out both teams and was disgusting to read. They need to find some people who love the game and find the positives in each game and not draw on the negatives.

kane now this is obviously not you or for some reason you have a bee in your bonnet cause this is not the kane griffiths i know, albeit i don't know you very well.
the kane griffiths is pretty shy and reserved but on here you are displaying outlandish behaviour. don't let personal attacks get to you as the more you respond the more they will attack.

riteo, i am not going to say one more word about myself ever again on this forum. You think i talk myself up, fine, thats your opinion, but in no way was i trying to make myself look or sound better than anyone else on here. But i wouldnt have to defend my capabilities as a sportsperson if some blokes on this forum didnt have cheap shots at me first.

There is a new reporter at the Guardian. Tom Dullard. Only a young gut but has shown some promising signs. The ones i have read of his are pretty good, he has a pretty good understanding of the game and he will only improve as he gets older and more experienced. I am pretty sure he only does Swan Hill games because of his Colt's commitments at the club. Give him a look. Young writer to keep an eye on

Maybe Mr. Griffiths you should not take such criticism to heart. While I am sure you are only trying to defend yourself you have come across as very arrogant indeed. Letting every one know how good you think you are does not aid your argument at all my friend. In the future I advise you to follow in my footsteps and disregard mindless insults. I say this as always, with the best interest of the dear members of this forum in mind.

Ok enough of the trash talk! Sugar is a gun cricketer, oviously, by being selected to play for vic in the u17s comp! and the reason that he didnt play in melboure was becuase of school and that. he is a pretty sharp footballer i erg any one 2 get down to grenham park this week and watch him go around in the thirds and the ones.

Tom dallurd is an up and coming reporter who i no has a genuine love for sport in general.

Massive game against boga and barham this week could go either way, worth a look down at the magpie nest

Spot on Roota.
He is without doubt one of the most talented around and not a bad kid from my experience, but talking this amount of crap about yourself is certain to make people turn against you..
Humilty is a wonderful thing, and i suggest that sugakane and/or dooda take a good heatlhy slice of it in the near future..
by the looks of you sock it toomey, i reckon u've had a bit too many slices

Easy young fella just a freindly piece of advice from a bloke who used to be known for talking it up instead of backing it up on the field. We all know you have huge amounts of talent, more than most that have come from our region but let your actions on the field do the talking for you. Forget this shit:thumbsu:
