What has happened to the bulldogs this year.. they were traveling alright there for a while what has happened...has their number one supporter in johnny trouser snake jumped ship to moula, maybe the inclusion of the great Peter Duffin to the seniors can spark them...Can any tyntynder supporters shed some light as to their teams performance..Are they still in contension to make finals...
Can't see the Doggies losing more than 1 of the next 5..
That will leave them at 8-4 and should be in the top 5 safely, but it is interesting because 7 teams can't make the 5 and some will just miss.
Most likely would have to be Boga, K-B, Bal, Tyn, T-M.
Kerang and S/Hill probably no chance to miss 5, what do ppl think, which 2 will miss out??

I hear that Tyntynder are taking Josh Jenkins case to appeal and it is going to be heard tomorrow night. Interested to hear what peoples thoughts are in regards to taking people to appeal. I've never seen him play but have seen the size of him and he would have to be a handy pick up if Boga were to get him.......or on the other hand would he play for Tyntynder if the appeal was rejected????

Josh might play for tyntynder, but only if it is his only option...he is pursuing bigger things next year and is only playing football this season to make some quick cash...

i believe a player should be allowed to play football wherever he chooses, whether it be a big reason or a little reason and if a player clearly doesnt want to continue playing at a club, then why try and make them? unless a player owes the club something (money, jumper, etc.) then the player should be allowed to play wherever they want, in the end isnt this all for enjoyment? im sure not many people in country vic make a comfortable living out of it!

now billy you were a great player in the 80's but if you haven't been watching football has changed in the new millenium. losing trowser has been devastating and has probably caused our middle of the road position at the moment. but the players have had the week off and had some fun and put it all behind them and i would predict they will come out firing over the next few weeks and really get back as one of the premier teams in the comp.
i think you are putting a bit to much thought into it, the last two games they have lost in 15 mins of football by less than 3 kicks. if they had won these they would be 6 & 1 and you would be talking about them in the same vain as swan hill & kerang. don't worry they will improve as a team between now and the end of august

well lets just hope so, how is the coach going anyway, has he earnt the respect of the players yet, or is he still running around being unaccountable...

Just confirming, and thank you Mr. hustler for informing me. Obviously a very handy player and should help out the magpies a great deal indeed. It may possibly help them thrust forward up the ladder to a possible finals berth. Though this won't come just from one player. A very interesting team the magpies they seem to have periods of brilliance but have a severe deficiency in the consistency department, what do you think of this hustler as you seem to be a Boga man.

Yeah ace i think that with a full strength side they can really push the likes of Tyntynder and Tooleybuc who they got done by earlier in the year. Tomorrow will be a good test with probably our strongest side this year in.

The Grand Final preview call may be just a little early Billy. Swan Hill havent proven anything yet, their only real test for the year so far was against Tyntynder and they got beaten. They beat Balranald in the 1st round when they had half a side. Make the call after they have played Kerang, Boga,Tooley/Manang and Balranald (again). My tip is they will slide down the ladder a couple of pegs..:thumbsu:

Had a bit of a look at the Boga v Kangas game yesterday. Boga's new ruckman may be tall but thats about it. A little dissapointed after all I had heard about him. Kangas ruckman seemed to work him out early and was all over him by the 2nd quarter. Boga was lucky to get away with the win, but a win is a win in anyones language!!

Would have to disagree there mate, i thought for a man who who has been out of the game for the first half of the season was very impressive, showed alot of skill and comprehensively beat the cohuna ruckman with superior fitness. call me biased but i know i wasnt the only one out at the nest who shared a similair view.

For a wrap up like he was getting I expected more, and especially against a Ruckman I had heard nothing about we expected a slaughter. Apparently he's only 19, I can only imagine the damage he will do in a few years. I've been looking at this site for a while and have been cruising round the local games of a weekend and have definately seen some great sides but think that the Kangas should have definately beaten the Magpies. I would like to hear from any Kangas players what happened?? What blockbuster should I look at next weekend??

Very dissapointing result DTM, Kangas had our chances but couldn't take them. Hit the post twice from close range when we had momentum....we just were'nt quite good enough. Dissapointing news for Wes Pye another calf injury. Boga need him if they are to do any damage this year.

There is no way I believe he is on that much money. You can't pay those sorts of dollars for a guy that is tall and thats about it. He seemed to lack a footy brain and had no idea what to do when he was getting beaten. By no means was the Cohuna ruckman a Dean Cox but I didn't hear any wrap ups about him making him into something he's not, and I'm tipping he aint getting paid a gold mine for his services.

i was at kerang on saturday and the two pollocks are no-where near the best ruckman in the league. ok, so they got their hands on the ball in the middle but they wouldnt have taken more than 5 marks between them. quality ruckman take marks around the ground and get dangerous in the forward 50.

quality ruckmen get their hands on the ball first in ruck contests, thats why they're called ruckmen...play under a ruck that doesnt win ruck contests and you'll appreciate what im saying...

dropping the ball too high sacrifices time to kick the ball resulting in a higher likeliness that he'll be caught in a tight situation i.e seniors. But, he has lots of pace which makes up for it, especially at colts level. Should make pioneers, lots of talent around the stoppages.

kudos to geoff hickmott for a great write up in the guardian today, as we know he does the football for the northern times so maybe the guardian should be looking to poach him back full time. terrible write up on the eagles/dogs game doesn't really tell you what happened. perhaps the author wasn't at the game either???

What are everyones thoughts on Gavin LLoyd. Nudging 40 and still just as important as any player in the league and starting to get in the best on a consistent basis. He is an absolute superstar.

And richmond (afl) north melbourne (afl) and i think sydney, another afl club he was with for a while mate, very talented footballer, he is filling all the young blokes at balranald colts full of confidence and teaching them lots about football, very good coach, definatly is a leader

Not much been said on here lately. With the exception of the great Gavin Lloyd. His importance to the Balranald side has increased almost twofold with the departures of quality players.
Anyone daring enough to predict the the top 5's in the 3 grades?
Me thinks that they will all chop and change a bit. My hat will go off to the man who gets them right.

steady up sugarkane. i will tell you why balranald won't make it...

Tooleybuc beat you by 7 goals
Worrinen beat you by 12
Koondrook by 21 goals

and these are the teams your trying to get a spot off...

and i can see you maybe winning 1, 2 games maximum befor end of year...

unfortunatly the facts are not good for the roo boys. as much as i would love to see them play in finals, i dont think it can happen! no disrespect to the balranld boys, but they have had a few close games and fallen short due to a lack of numbers which is hurting them. but they will need more numbers week in weak out and a huge turn around of form in the second half of the season

yeh fair enough, the results speak for themselves, but i reckon the boys hav a very fair chance of knockin off tooley next time... We played koondrook with fifteen players, meaning they had 6 people on the bench and a loose man wherever they wanted.. Like i said, when numbers pick up, we'll be right chum.. Who do u follow?

i'm being sarcastic with the Balranald boys in the 5 even though i would love to see it. Woorinen are my pick, they have the best run and came close to Kerang Colts who are a formidable unit.

I agree Suga, Woorinen are looking the most likely to scrape into the top 5 with Tooleybuc probably to slip out, the tigers have come the closest to the seemingly unbeatable Blues which is a sign of a good team regardless of who was or wasn't playing in the Kerang lineup . In seniors the top 5 will most likely stay unaltered as it should as Kerang,Tooley,Balranald,Swan Hill and Tyntynder are the five best teams. Lake Boga are there abouts as I'm sure our friend hustler will tell you, however they are yet to have a win against a formidable lineup apart from an undermanned Balranald.

Are you blokes serious raiders have just flogged the dogs bye 60 odd points in the colts and no one has them in top 5 . On top in 2s so thats agiven .Seniors have also just beaten dogs by 5 after being 6 goals down at half time. They have a good run and are yet to play with a full list just might be the quiet achievers

Your right, although i didnt pick them in my 5, tehey'll give it a shake. When we played them in the Colts, the boys only had 14 players and basically no forward line so i couldn't really say how good they were or not.
