Also kelvin69 can u please provide any information about Jarrod Arentz being offered $40,000 by a team around Albury way just to play?? if it is true it is definately too much cash but just for a one position player

As average a player as I was still I can't understand that Kelvin. Why would any side be underdone. Did you guys do a pre season. It may be true that you are underdone and if so what a disgrace. As tight as the comp is shaping up to be, early wins are vital. Clearly on saturday you guys aren't good enough to start the year in cruise mode. I understand players of the ability of Cullen, Arentz, Spinks are missing. My spies tell me that everyone knew Cullen and Spinks would be unavailable early though. Balranald at Balranald this week for the saints, it's not getting easier! Who is Chris Coleman, any relation to Leigh? Is he any good?
As much of a disgrace that it is expert Russ, many of our footballers out here, work on grape blocks and they have been right in the middle of picking in the last 2 months, not being able to train. Also quite a few players have only recently recovered from niggling injuries, unable to fully train. And the fact that Tooleybuc played in the cricket finals and actually won the premiership held a few players back from training because of cricket commitments didn't help either, so chill out a bit mate, you don't win premierships in April and you know that. Chris Coleman played state footy in Queensland last year and will be our interleague Ruck Rover.

IT is much harder for manang and tooley to get in a good pre season. Distance to be travelled for one. Players form melbourne for 2. the fact that this year harvest went from december to end of january means that many of the manang boys are on headers. ANd form now on many of them will be sowing.. And between sowing and the previous years harvest the entire farming community takes thier 4 weeks holiday. Cullen was over seas. Everyone else travels from swan hill. Is not like walking down after work and training. Two arentz boys work anywhere between kerang to Mildura everyday and employee 4 to 5 players between them, so it is hard for them to make training on occasions. So realistically it is quite easy for a side to be under done. Yet another disadvantage that the outer clubs have to overcome..

[quote=iamfooty]BREAKING NEWS`
I heard from a good and trusted source last nite that the reason Arentz didn't play wasn't because of some chronic chaffing problem.....he is in fact waiting to be cleared to a club in the golden rivers league. He has apparently been offered :D:D:D:D loads to play at Nullawil. Now I personally don't believe this. I couldn't ever see him leavin his beloved Manang, but his wife is from Nully I've been told? Has anyone heard anything?[quote]
That rumour has been circulating since the last round of last season. I cannot confirm this is what is happening, but I really hope he doesnt go there, on account of how good he is. Although it might be good, give Wakools million dollar team a run for their money.:D
glad you wrote that you dont believe that arentz is going to nulli. Play against him a few years ago and let me say that the man would not lower himself.. Nothing against the grfl, but it jsut would not happen, especially since his father is now the pres at manang..
And to who ever it was that said 40,000 for arentz is to much, you need to watch the man play a little more. clubs pay 600 to 800 for players that would not get a look in along side him. He will guarentee you 100 plus goals a year. You can base statements on the cmfl pay rates. the Albury league pay huge money for good players, so 40,000 to arentz in aulbury would be only the same as oppenlander at balranald- comparitively... and i know who i would have...

I've never seen farmer Marcus Nalder underdone, if he is busy on the farm and can't make it to training, I know for a fact he will do sessions at home, even if it means going for a bike ride in the middle of the night. Guess it just depends how committed you are to football. As for cricket finals, couldn't they go for a run on the nights they weren't training for cricket? I'm sure they didn't train every night of the week. Sounds like a lot of excuses to me Kelvin, though i'm sure Tooleytang will be up there at the end of the year.

This is why the dogs have superior fitness over every team in the comp Tripod. Nalder sets an example and the blokes who are in the 22 are the ones who have done the work. If you haven't you won't get a game, simple as that. The dogs are the best 2nd half side in the comp and they will be even fitter come the end of the season!

can anyone shed any light on how ryan connellan and rob plant from romsey went for lalbert in round 1???
From all reports they went ok. going to take them a bit to get used to the surrounding players and league. Conellan went well last week have been told that this guy has a massive leap that is up to the standard of a freak NBA player and Plant can hold down the CHB position on any day, They said that he could eat Brendan Sheppard for breakfast BIG BOY, there best pick up for the year is yet to play.

I can't agree Kelvin. The money that T-manang spend on players you would think that they would be fit and ready for round 1. Pretty poor if cricketers that are on money for footy would prioritise cricket over footy. Yes, you dont win flags in April but you win games that set you up to be in a position to win a flag!

Sure pieman. Koon/Barham haven't really recruited much over the summer still relying heavily on their local talent, although the one and only Trevor Ryan did play last week and should be a very handy 'pick up'. Shawn 'half eaten pastie' Filo is still coaching Kerang, and Shawn Smith, like many of Kerangs high profile recruits last year, went missing in the big games when the heat was on. :thumbsu:

Ron then spent the next hour lecturing simon on checking, building and maintaining fences, ''its not all about digging holes and putting posts in, then riding around and givin them abit of a nudge with the ol size 10 doggers(boots) everynow and then'' you have to put your heart and soul into it keep the fences well polished and make sure you always where your safety glasseswhilst around them. Tips for this week!
Swan Hill to beat Tyntynder. Swans haven't convinced me but dogs have at least 3-4 out from last week.
Balranald over Woorinen. Should be a 20+ goal win for the Roos. Woorinen recruits from Darwin don't have much respect for coach by their attitude last week.
Tooleytang to post first win of year over Cohuna.
Lalbert to beat Nyah. 3-0 for the Eagles and they will be ringing Coburn's to get them to get the stencil ready for the Premiership Cup.
Kerang to account for the much improved L'ville.
K'rook to get over Lake Boga at K'rook.

Sorry about my post (above) probably not necessary on website but only stating the facts that I heard Monday morning at work. Let sleeping dogs lie and forget this was ever mentioned. Those involved will sort it out!

Deanbrown thank you for that vital info, well simon, looks like you have alot of work ahead of you before you go and try an move on with your life, maybe you could get some life tips of the one and only ross turner, you remind me very much of him to be honest, your run out of the back line and the way you kick a football is very ross "rocket" turner like, you also have his lokks down pat rite down to a t.
Only seen them once the year but the Dogs are still doing nothing wrong. The Peeping Tom at Full Forward is in some sort of form. If he stays fit and healthy then my money is in danger. Tubba may collect. How do you guys rate Lalbert? Can they make the 5? I would expect that SH, Kerang, Bal, Tyn and Tool-Manang would be the favoured 5 but does anyone see the eagles up there?

I don't think he will miss too many as the injury is so regular for him. Almost as regular as the amount of times I've tucked him in at night after a sip!
thats a big call there yaaablett... i heard that he can drink anyone under the table... ive tried to beat him but fail badly every time... good news as well i hear he is playing this week:thumbsu:

Kev, can you tell me if he has been training cause i am always concerned with his work ethic. Ability yeah but when it comes to fitness he seems to enjoy the couch rather than the comforts of his running shoes and the road? Can drink, just maybe too often!!

K'rook to get over Lake Boga at K'rook.u idiot..much improved l/g they have played nobodys;...u could ge a job at the guardian with :D:D:D:De like this
Pod's Picks Round 3
Swan Hill to defeat Tyntynder. The recent sex scandal in the bulldogs backline, as revealed on here by Peter Duffen, will have an unsettling effect on the whole team.
Tooleybuc/Manang to defeat Cohuna. T/M will be hungrey for their first win of the year, Cohuna have two heads.
Balranald to defeat Woorinen. Roos have too much class all over the ground, Woorinen starting to resemble a rabble.
NNWU to defeat Lalbert. If Steve Delmenico is still playing seniors, Lalbert have no hope this year. Demons to chalk up their first win.
Kerang to defeat Leitch/Gun. A close one, blues a bit more classy than their opponents.
Lake Boga to defeat Koon/Bar. Boga will be stung by their come from in front loss to the bombers last week, expect them to come out firing.

The Beast sounds like a toss!!! He should start his own thread "The national terets syndrome thread".. Fair chance you wouldnt be scared of him dockers.. It would take one hell of a beast to devour you.. He would need a good month alone just to chew through the fat around your thighs and arse!!:thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Hey champ, wasn't too serious when writing my tips for this round (I bag my own team) just a tongue-in-cheek look at the round, apologies to anyone who took offence at it. As for Deli, just hanging a bit of crap on an old teamate, nothing malicious intended.:)

Tripod u are a legend! I wish there were more people on here like you, if we cant have a bit of tongue in cheek (or tongue in arse out at lalbert) then we are going to be in for a long season. As for you steike you are the biggest c o c k s u c k e r on this thread. A man in your position shouldn't be bagging anyone on this, especially with your reputation around the traps.
