Who was the "little forward" that gave him a touch up? Cannard perhaps?

Disagree. all them players are class but how good would they be in a side like the marsh. aussie has shown he can play well in both good and bad teams. the interleague captain deserves a guernsey.
HEY sauce anyone with half a clue on how to play the game can be a good player in a ******** side.the only kicks he gets are from kickins or in the back 50.i think u should watch a game of footy before u talk any more bye sauce!!!!!

Also heard a whisper that the marsh have lost all there recruits apart from the coach, his brother, and GORGEOUS GEORGE DALE.. they must have worked out how much of a boring club they are.
Should fold or merge with rockbank.

Everyone loves hearing opinions on big footy, but package here's some advice. Read the thread before you start posting crap!
Only a few pages back the conversation was all about how Larsen killed it playing at CHF against darley... Even the darley guy noddy agreed.
So if you want people to take you serious on here, post something that doesn't make you look like a dill!

Aussie Larsen has to have something about his football to be named interleague captain...maybe its just that you're jealous of his footballing ability...

Here we go again a red head thinking he knows about the game connors was probably one of the sides laziest unaccountable footballers last year yeah he may rack up his 25 touches a game but have a look at his opponent he has probably had 35 to 3/4 time and kicked 4 but still connors would not have even know who he was playing on cos all he worries about is himself i love the marsh they alwayse seem to find away of pumping up s h i t he would not be in the top 50 players in the league so sauce get back on ya pie where you belong and stop posting rubbish

They are gone and you know it but i wont say any more about it untill the season starts and then ill say i told you so...
On a serious note. I think 4 players may have fallen through maybe and it was nothing to do with the club being down on the bottom of the ladder for a few years. Two have serious injuries and 2 were offered really good jobs back in their home towns and couldn't knock them back. Since then the cobras have recruited a few others so we should be ok. We have nothing to loose and all to gain this season.

It's not defamation if it's true, Champ.
Well sort of. There is no need to use that word to describe someone because they don't have the IQ of an average person. (I know I used the words 'half wits' to describe the Darley football club but his use of words was appaulling and aimed at an individual)I know a young guy that hangs around the Darley Club that has an intellectual disability and there would be know way that I would come on here and talk him down in reference with their club and call him names that belittle him.I'm getting on my high horse I know but it's something that strikes a nerve in me.

Did you watch every game he played did you?? I wouldn't say he got flogged every week at all.
The guy isn't fat at all, I think he may have not been fit enough to run out a whole game in the midfield last year, that is all. Playing off a HFF he was very dangerous.

Anyone got any info on a bloke named Sanders from Ballarat, Played TAC, went to Uni there and has just moved to the Goulburn Valley, believe he is training with Echuca

Well if anything it will be interesting to watch Darley this year if they don't pick up to many mature recruits just how their young player development has gone. How olds McGrath now? He would be in that age group aswell wouldn't he. A couple of years ago he showed a lot of promise.

3. Redan
4. Ballarat
5. Melton South
6. Darley
7. Melton
8. Bacchus Marsh
9. Lakers
10. Sebas

Yeah, I take that on board mate, went a tad too far with that one.

Pretty good. I'm optimistic and I would say swap Bacchus Marsh with Melton and that would be on the money. I expect improvement but not to make finals this year.

LFC, good ladder, top 5 def agree, pending recruiting will determine where they a finish. The concern with Darley Melton Marsh Lakers Sebas, has to be who is going to kick their goals, with their player losses, unless they recruited key fwds, who do these sides have to kick more than 50 this year which realistically you need 2 or 3 to be a top 4 side?

Not bad, but ...
Was talking to a guy from Darley on Saturday night and he was telling me that apart from the coach and a couple of local dropkicks that have done the rounds at numerous other clubs, they have picked up no one. If this is true, I can't see Darley making the finals this year.
I would put Sunbury at the top, Ballarat second, East third and the rest can battle it out to make up numbers.
Sebas and the Marsh will be the comp easybeats though, no doubt about it.
Expect Ballarat to blitz a lot of sides this year. You thought that they were quick last year ... you ain't seen nothing yet.

One of these local dropkicks would have to be Shaun Deckert wouldn't it Hank. Definetly done the rounds that boy, he is only 29 and has played for Darley, Melton South, Ballan, Torquay, Melton Centrals, Moonee Valley, Hoppers Crossing, Spotswood, Bannockburn and Trentham. Ballarat certainly had an impressive season last year. Who have they recruited so far does anyone know, havent heard much from them although they have a young group you expect to improve. Northey game style suited them, I thought they needed another key fwd to support Nunn, Ryan Harris is a top line player if he stays and the bloke on the wing with the shaved head, in the finals, he was as quick as I have seen in this comp. Not convinced they can overtake East Redan or Sunbury YET, but you would think are a top 5 side for sure, and if they recruit well enough, they were only a kick from beating East in the finals last year, look out for a big year for the swans by the sounds of it.

Have heard some rumours of recruits, but nothing confirmed yet. They need an extra foward and a couple of hard nuts and they will do well.
I think that they went well against East last year because East aren't renowned as a side that places a lot of physical pressure on their opponents. In a free flowing, fast paced game there is not too many sides that can run with them.

Ballarat's problem is playing away from the Ballarat area. Fix that, and a higher position on the ladder is assured.

I think the standard of sides who finish between 4 and 7 will definetly be less than previous years. But unfortunately sides 1 and 2 will improve on previous standards. Sunbury could be as dominant as their early Ballarat league days.

Houlihan is another very good player - should dominate if fit. Savarlis will also strengthen their midfield, Patty Davis another marking option in the forward line. Smithwick from Darley may be ok playing on the 3rd tall forward and the smashing machine (number 2) will add the grunt in the middle. Power is fit for the 1st time in a year will also help.

That could be scary how much Sunbury could dominate this year. from the sounds of it ballarat are going to be up there which is good to see, not long ago they were the easybeats of the comp. its good to finally see them back up in the mix again, as for east point, i think that they could be the only side to get near sunbury this year.

Some fire power at Sunbury this year. The forwards will be earning their spot.
East will be very strong and Redan will be there abouts again. With more improvement from Ballarat and South to improve this year should be a good contest.

Damien Houlihan if fit, will be the 2nd best forward in the BFL one of the smartest footballer's around.
Are you guys kidding yourself. Luke Allen is a chump, if all reports are true and sunbury have picked up a lot of players, Allen will struggle to play twos. From speaking to a few of the sunbry guys the bloke isnt liked around the club. Just a pest who carries on like hes won a grand final after kicking a goal in the first quater of the first game of the year. PLEASE dont blow wind up the dudds arse.
And venom where did you get idea that hes not afraid to use his build..
Come on..
yeah have to agree with you noddy he's not much of a player, he can only lead out and mark on his chest. He is a solid boy and can't take a contested mark, nor does he like to keep his head over the ball. I think that more clubs would have him worked out this year. And it does help to have the ball delivered as well as Sunbury deliver it.

If its the young tall kid from Darley Smthwick then i'd say no; he'd be lucky to be 19 now so he wouldnt have had much impact for you to remember him from Sunbury a few years ago...
Can anyone tell me some players to watch out for this year?
I assume you're after players that aren't recognised as big name players yet.....
A bloke from Ballarat, Brad Anderson. He's 21 and get plenty of it in the 1st half of the year. Hurt a shoulder midway through the year and never got back to full fitness.
Is a key componant of Northey's plans and should be one who steps up this year. One for opposition Coach's to watch..

The BFL under 18 team won the championships last year so you would think there would be some good players our of there to take off. Yuonger players to watch Matt Innes from Sebas won the rookie of the year in 2006, other younger guys Darren Searle at Melton, Sammutt at Sunbury, Delaney from East, Moore from Ballarat, Micalef from Redan, Krojs from South, Shea the MArsh, dont know the younger players at darley lakers.
I assume you're after players that aren't recognised as big name players yet.....

Heard some rumour that a player of the surname, Harris is looking at joining a NCFL club.
Could someone give me a rundown what he is like? (Not sure what club he plays for)

If Ryan Harris from Ballarat, goes very good. Good size onballer, probably 5ft11, solid build, terrific mark, pushes fwd and plays out the square and kicks goals. Top line all round footballer.

Searle is 23 and been around since he was eighteen or so. handy but not one to watch other clubs already know all about him.. I think sammutt has been around long enough too. Micalef is going to be a real handy player. Has he left or still at redan? Any younger players yet to play a full season any good.

I dunno what Learmonth was thinking, but he should have just said what he had heard rather than have everyone speculate.
The whole North City thing was crap and it isn't possible for them to survive with all that travel to Bendigo. So I would guess that could be a possibility.

True. They'll get off the bottom this year and I think they would have expected a few hard years before they get back to the former glory.

I think u'll find it will go ahead if the BFL allow it.
Both Clubs are in favour of the Merger... otherwise they may fold.
It wouldn't take long for them to become a powerhouse.

Interesting news if all this is true would that mean they would play out of northen oval is that the oval north city call home Cos there is no way lakers hole would be up to scratch and finally lakers have an excuse to get a decent jumper

No i'm not but my info is from a very reliable source.
Will be interesting to see if Dangles & Betty work together or if they go with just the one coach.

Does it seem odd that the North City went to the Bendigo league and now are looking to merge into a Ballarat league club?
Did the league and the clubs involved reject North City's inclusion in the first place?
What would make them change their mind 2 years down the track?
For the conspiracy theorists.... Did they establish a club in the Bendigo league after being turned down by the Ballarat league with the vision of squeezing their way back into the Ballarat league via Lake Wendouree (or another poor performing side)?
If the Merge goes ahead i can see it becoming very much a North city dominant club down the track. Facilities, officials, board members, and maybe even the jumper.
I wouldn't be surprised if in 6-8 years North City will be the North Ballarat of old in this league and the merged club was just a distant memory.
Clearly a radicalist conspiracy theory... but debate topic none the less!:D

This sort of thing gives me the $hits.
I think it is going to destroy country footy when all these major league clubs die in the a$$.
I heard there was a pitch for the Bendigo League and Ballarat League to join. The idea was...
Goldfields Football League
Ballarat
North ballarat
East Point
Redan
Sebas
Lakers
Sth bendigo
Sandhurst
Eaglehawk
Golden Square
Maryborough
Kyneton
Castlemaine
Daylesford (they were in the BFl and the time)
The other teams can go make their own legue. Gisborne, Sunbury, Marsh, Darley, Melton, Melton Sth and etc.
That makes a great 13 team comp and most teams are the same distance to Melbourne. I might be missing a team here and there but the idea was good. It was a lot of travel but it would have been a good comp.

The NEWS more Like NORTH CITY & LAKERS Merge.
I just got a text message from a mate of mine saying that my Lakers are merging with Nth City.
What a disgrace this is especially after the ******** they had on their shirts when they beat us in the Grand Final.
I will not support them at all and to those at lakers what the ***** is going on.

I should mention that I am not involved nor explicitly support either club, even though I am an old North supporter.
