Oracle,
You can say what you want about darley's hopes this year but the simple fact is you have majorly overlooked them as a force to be reckoned with. When you have the wog coming out and saying they are a great chance it is a big wake up call. time for you to rub the peepers together and come to grips with the fact as well. On another note your a jerk.
As for my boys at South, them wide lines scratch cat scoble has us running are really starting to pay off. It's just a pity that Dane prefers lines off the dunnies in pure.

How about you concentrate on winning football games, everyone knows you are very bad at it.
Marsh v Lakers round 14, can't wait to see 21 weak guys chase a player around for 100 mins while you get done by 25 goals. Who's gona get him "Benedetti", please give us a break. Dead set joke of club, and with you morons on here you are making yourselves look worse. I don't want to see your club fold because Darley get at least 2 percentage boosters a year.
meh.........
U might be right Chimpy, but that doesn't stop some money hungry club swappers from having a try here before they find out south pays more! Looking forward to round 9 myself.......

Who do you mean here? Scoble, Mcleod, Parker, Jambour and McMahan???
The first 4 played for South their whole lives. Scoble's dad won a B & F at Darley and always wanted to play there at some stage. The other three went along for the ride. Two then went back to their original club, and two retired. The only money grub was McMahan. You always come on here not knowing what you are talking about.

Oracle, Oracle,Oracle,
Looks like a rebuttal on my behalf is not required. Judging by the plethitude of people letting you know how bad you are with your football wisdom, or lack there of. Maybe you should go the way of cheeky phil and stop the rot that continual appears in-between the comments of people that actually have a clue.
Quit building up bennedetti please people. he's a useless wreck and with that much junk in the trunk he's not going to be able to catch anyone in-order to hurt them. If by the rare chance someone fell in his lap the fat pretender would be incapable to do anything anyway.
Lake Wendouree to win round 14 by 7,000. The dried up pond will get there hopes up coming into the finals and hopefully they can make a little impact, i like that club.
Can't say as much for Ballarat, negative attitudes and unwillingness to move the comp forward. Oust the president and stop sucking sour grapes, there's only so long you can be hand-fed.

Its interesting to see the BFL interleague squad has been announced. It amazes me that the representation of the great Darley football club is made up of all their recruits. Gee, if there home grown talent is as strong and they have improved as much as all the fruitpickers believe, and their depth is so good then why aren't they in the squad? Look at the reps from Ballarat nearly all juniors accept for Sewell and May who were from Newlyn. East Point have recruits from their juniors accept for Hutchinson and I think the Melton and a few Melton south guys are from their juniors. The rest are all imports so it goes to show the value of recruiting to top off your list doesn't it Darley.
Looks a very strong squad though with the onball and forward line looking very strong. How do the half sensible ones on this forum reckon the backline will be structured.

You are a fool Darley have 4 players Cheeves Tuddy Miller and Cape in the side.Miller and Cape are both as local as you will get at any club and Cape is V/C of the BFL squad so get your facts right. You are clearly intimidated in some way by Darley as you cant get them out of your mind, worry about your own side before you worry about others. Darley beat south by 5 goals and they flogged you on the weekend so once again Ballarat are over rated.

Blomeley back for BFL
29/05/2008 12:46:00 AM
REDAN captain Nathan Blomeley is back and will represent the Ballarat Football League in the VCFL Pool A Country Championship at Shepparton from tomorrow.
A week ago Blomeley was facing the possibility of an extended lay-off with what was thought to be stress fracture in a foot.
However, a new diagnosis will see the 24-year-old train with the BFL representative squad tonight and line up against Goulburn Valley tomorrow night.
"There's no stress fracture," Blomeley said yesterday.
"There's no (immediate) cure.
"It's just a matter of putting up with some discomfort and playing through the pain."
Blomeley is spurred on by the opportunity to again represent Victoria in the Australian Country Football Carnival in July and the possibility of playing on the MCG.
The Redan star represented Victoria Country two years ago.
The national carnival's preliminary rounds will be at Shepparton on July 24-25, with the division one final a curtain-raiser to the AFL clash between Melbourne and North Melbourne on July 27.
BFL chief executive officer Rod Ward said there was no one keener to wear the navy blue of the BFL than Blomeley.
"He's put his hand up.
"He's desperate to play," he said
Mr Ward said the possibility of wearing the Big V on the MCG was a significant lure for Blomeley.
The BFL yesterday named a 29-man squad - one more than coach Peter Freeman will take to Shepparton.
Freeman and his selectors have chosen the extra player in case Melton South key forward Rob McMahon fails a fitness test at the Eastern Oval tonight.
McMahon is struggling with a problem right knee.
Darley leading goal-kicker Adrian Newman was ruled out on Tuesday night with two calf injuries.
Redan's Jarrod Edwards has been appointed captain with Darley's Matt Cape and Brendan Porter from Melton the vice-captains.
Ballarat is facing Ovens and Murray, Goulburn Valley and Hampden in pool A.
The BFL meets Goulburn Valley tomorrow at 6.30pm, Hampden on Saturday at 1pm, and Ovens and Murray on Sunday at 12.45pm in the last match of the championship.

Names from Darley,
Travis Edwards, Drew Edwards, Brent Smithwick, Darren Leonard, Jarryd King (started at Darley, went to marsh, back to darley in U18), Leigh Freestone, Lachlan Herring, Adam Bell, Jacob Whitney, Kade Sexton, Brad Miller, Matt Cape, Trav Stephenson, David Young, Travis Minns, Shaun Deckert, Kyle Doyle, Ben Robbins (from U18's only),
Scott McKay, Ross Gundry are also locals but played there juniours at Bacchus Marsh, left on there own accord and never came for any money.
For a club that rely's only on the recruits they have it's suprising the amount of locals that make the side up hey Jerk69? Word around is there are also a number of Juniors and two's players ready to step up soon.
On the toughest in the comp gig, The name no one can exclude from the list is Brad Miller, tough as nails attack on the footy. Troy Scoble equal last along with pretend tough guys Benedetti and Hutchinson.

Coach thrilled by way players have bonded
30/05/2008 12:50:00 AM
THERE will be strength in unity rather than pure goalkicking power for the Ballarat Football League team at the VCFL Country Championships, which begins tonight in Shepparton.
BFL representative coach Peter Freeman conceded the unavailability of spearhead Dan Jordan and the withdrawal of injured centre-half forward Rob McMahon had made the task tougher for his team, which kicks off its campaign against the Hampden league tonight at Deakin Reserve.
But he was thrilled with the way the RegionalOne BFL team had bonded over the past month, and was confident his all-star midfield and the forwards he has at his disposal would kick enough goals between them to challenge for the championship.
"Our strength is the unity of this group. They've been sensational with their commitment," Freeman said.
"We've got eight players from (the last VCFL championship) two years ago, and a different eight who played last year against Bendigo, which has helped establish a consistency within the group.
"We've also selected quite a few young kids to continue that tradition in future years.
"For any side no Dan Jordan is a big loss. Dane Grenfell has been in terrific form, but there will also be a greater reliance on our onballers. Players like Nigel Otto, Ash Fleming, Brett Chambers, Matt Battistello and Brad Miller give us a lot of versatility up forward."
Ballarat's Mark Nunn and Melton's Brendan Porter take up the two key slots in the absence of Jordan and McMahon. At the other end of the ground, Melton's Ash Webber makes his representative team debut.
Jarrod Edwards from Redan and his namesake from Darley have both been named in the starting 18 for tonight's match, although Freeman said the team would be chopped and changed substantially
within and between the three matches of two 20-minute halves each plus time-on.
He said that was the reason some players who missed out on selection did so.
"It will be horses for courses," Freeman said.
"It's also a weird format in that you really have to rest blokes because one of the key things is player welfare.
"You can't have players in this type of concept who play only one position."
Peter Freeman predicted the Ovens & Murray team and Goulburn Valley would be the teams to beat for the division one title, with the Hampden league something of a dark horse.
"We played all three two years ago.
"Ovens & Murray and Goulburn are always strong.
"Hampden is the team we know the least about because they've got a lot of young kids."
The Ballarat team is not the only one to be hit by the loss of a key forward. Seymour spearhead Saad Saad was not available for selection for Goulburn Valley as he is serving a two-week suspension
for charging Echuca's Craig Sutton. Saad is the GVFL's leading goalkicker this season with 44 to date this year.

[quote=Vineyard;11076149]Not just a two man show at Darley Oracle. plenty of guys stepping up to the plate and those two are fulfilling the roles that coach learmonth felt needed to be addressed.
You would be amazed at the number of young darley players have almost played 50 games of senior footy. This was started by Matt power and last year the young fellas had even more responsibility under coach learmonth due to the clean out. Players like king, edwards, herring, gundry, smithwick, robbins, young, freestone, minns, whitney, sexton etc. All under 23, played plenty of senior footy and now have older players in miller, guerra, deckert, digger edwards & cape fulfilling their main roles and cheevers, newman & tuddy edwards adding the class. Only 3 recruits in the club the rest locals which has also boosted morale team spirit around teh club.
The league also has plenty of quality talent. Watched interleague training last week when it was at Darley and they will have the best squad for years. Maybe no ex AFL players but they are a keen bunch playing with a bit of pride for the league.
Gee you Darley blokes are good judges, they got kaned.
ORACLE 69
2 Jun 2008, 10:15
I don't think Darley's list was that impresssive which was reflected in where they finished up. Take Newman, cheevers etc out and they would not be performing that well. It is always good to get a recruit as they can lessen the burden on the younger players as it takes time for them to develop and may push them from key position to a flank etc.
Some leagues have definitely dropped off as the TAC cup takes good kids, the VFL impacts on sides as they fill their playing stocks and experienced players are being offered too much money to play in lesser leagues. The 24-28 age bracket does not have a large pool of players.
Oracle rests his case and is once again correct!!!!!

THE Ballarat Football League remains in Victorian country football's highest division despite a heartbreaking one-goal loss to the Ovens and Murray league yesterday in Shepparton.
In what had effectively become a dead rubber following the Goulburn Valley league's victory over Hampden, the BFL came close to snatching second in Pool A of the VCFL Country Championships when it jumped the highly
fancied O&M to lead by nearly four goals, before being overwhelmed 6.10 (46) to 6.4 (40).
But Saturday's 16-point victory by the BFL over the Hampden league consigned the latter to relegation in the round robin championships.
BFL interleague coach Peter Freeman said, after a shaky start, the team's win against the Hampden league and its gallant effort against the O&M did more than enough to justify the BFL's position in pool A.
"We are gathering momentum with regard to getting respect in pool A of this competition," he said. Ballarat finished third behind the unbeaten Goulburn Valley and the O & M. The Geelong Football League will replace Hampden in Pool A for the next country championship in two years' time after it took out pool B.

Interesting. Just having a look through all the match results on the VCFL website. Absolutley no mention of this Jay May fella. Also interesting to note that Tristan May was named 3rd best player in the first game against Goulburn Valley.
Goals:
Goulburn Valley FL: Relton Roberts 3, Robert Osborne 1, Rowan Bonson 1, Christopher Casey 1
Ballarat FL: Tim Little 1
Best:
Goulburn Valley FL: Matt Storer, Paul Scanlon, Paul Newman, Christopher Casey, Bradley Collins, Robert Osborne
Ballarat FL: Brett Chambers, Ashley Fleming, Tristan May, Shane Hutchinson, Peter Larsen
Looked through all the results for the weekend and Jay May didn't kick 3 goals anywhere. Unless he warmed up with the side and slotted 3 through the big sticks before the game.

Congrats to the little red rocket Jay May on finally getting the recognition he deserved.
Also good to see a group of smiling forum faces.
After a weekend spent camping and consuming every possible ounce of alcohol the region has to offer i came to realise two things.
1- Darley are the real deal and hence i rushed home to put $100 on them for the flag, i did know this before hand however, just really sunk in.
2- there isn't enough grog in Australia to make Oracle appear to have any idea about footy, or be funny. Concentrate in breathing jerk because at the moment that seems to be an uphill battle.
Poor big Little, always been a great servant to the club of sunbury and the comp, year after year he appears in the best and i'm here to wish him a speedy recovery. i don't think it was the same incident with jordan, word around is the injury came from a clash between a tight rectal cavity and a fast moving hand. For all involved at Sunbury it will be a anxious few weeks spent wondering with the pretender really has pulled his finger out and can start earning the big $$$ he is getting.
My girl, beautiful Casey has a crush on Jay May, but don't tell him because he'll have a crack

Anyone got the scores from the weekend? Best Players? Goalkickers?
Best players are all on the net.
Lost to GV
Beat Hampton
Should've beaten O&M
Ballarat League player of the carnival - Chris Banwell (EP)
Team played pretty well in all the games, was right in it against GV even until the last few mins and a few quick goals but was by no means an uneven contest, both had fair share of the play, Ballarat boys were lacking forward power for the carnival, although Ash Fleming from Sunbury was a stand out playing from CHF taking a number of marks including mark of the century. haha was a MASSIVE hanger. Unfortunately inside 50 though very few marks were taken.
Back line was solid all three games, mid field good but maybe lacked a bit of explosive pace that a couple of other teams had. Chris Banwell was probably standing out because he had the leg speed to take a few on.
Under 18's interleague.... absolute rabble on and off the ground is the word going round...

little realisation to come back to the swans, pretenders!!!!
Redan v Marsh
the 18's could play for redan and it wouldn't be close, the only certainty is the stench will continue to grow at the marsh.
East Point v Melton
Danger game, wouldn't want a scrappy game because pretty boys don't like the big tough red Webbers. Hutchinson back in 40's by all reports.
South v Sebas
big battle will be at the Skate ramps between both sets of filth supporters, expect scratch cat scoble to be over there as the ground isn't wide enough to accomodate for his running lines.
Darley v North City
Danny Duggans cordial and Rod Wards small pecker could win this game in spirit alone.
Oracle v Life
Another walkover, life just beats you jerk

Sunbury v Ballarat - Not enough big bodies, pace won't win you games at Clarke Oval.
Redan v Marsh - Either close one or big margin, Redan to make 9-10 changes tonight.
East Point v Melton - Melton in a thriller
South v Sebas - Dane to have 10 at half time, showered and on cans by 3rd quarter time.
Darley v Nth City - Minns to kick a bag.

Sebas lays it on the line
6/06/2008 12:14:00 AM
SEBASTOPOL will be under a strict code of conduct in the wake of the Ballarat Football League club's embarrassing setbacks both on and off the field against Bacchus Marsh two weeks ago.
Burra coach Mark Russell has drawn up a set of rules covering the behaviour of players, spectators and officials involved with the BFL club.
Players who fail to adhere to the standards will have to front the club's leadership group.
Current and future Sebastopol players will be required to sign an agreement to obey the code, which covers how footballers present themselves on and off the field, and physical conditioning standards, as Russell seeks to up the level of professionalism at Marty Busch Reserve.
"If there are players who don't behave the way we feel a Sebastopol player should, they won't be welcome," Russell said.
"We need to have clear boundaries, expectations and goals, and I am not wavering on that.
"I am not a social coach. If the players want to play social football, then they can go out to the district competition. We aren't playing bush footy here. We are playing in a major league and this is important in the club's evolution.
"It's not just the players. It also covers supporters, parents and officials."
Russell said there would be sanctions for breaches of the code, although he did not reveal what they would be.
He said there had already been a document drawn up by Sebastopol before his arrival but it had not been fully implemented.
"There has been a code of conduct in the past but the players didn't know it. It's been sitting away in a cupboard," Russell said.
"We had a look at it, we made some changes and we've now added things if people transgress.
"I had in my mind this was the way we have to go (at Sebastopol) but I wasn't able to implement it straight away because of the work we had to do at the start of the season.
"But what happened at Linton has brought forward the need to implement it."
Russell said the magnitude of the defeat at the hands of Bacchus Marsh, a 101-point loss, was less concerning than the manner of the defeat.
"The truth is we don't have the cattle yet," Russell admitted.
Two RegionalOne BFL-registered players - a Bacchus Marsh player and Sebastopol-registered player who was a spectator at the time - are under investigation for the incident that resulted in a melee that ended the reserves match at Linton a fortnight
ago. The investigation report is due on Tuesday.

Redan will win by plenty - starting to kick it into 3rd gear the maroon lions.
East Point should get over Melton. Porter & Aquilina need to kick a bag to have a chance.

Besides the darley thumping the rest of the games haven't been too bad. The boys have 14 plus recruits and although they aren't superstars they obviously have taken a whule to gel. Things are going forward at the club. I'm glad they're off the bottom. They may not be finals contender but they will be make a contest with most clubs from here on in. I'm not saying marsh are good, but with the players redan have out this week and obviously still lack the fitness they are right for the taking. If there was ever a week that marsh was going to win, it's tomorrow. Maybe I'll be wrong but I'll be there and hopefully sucking down the golden ales after we hopefully win. As for the stench comments, keep em' coming! Laugh at me tomorrow if Marsh get thumped. I
n fact if marsh lose by more than 4 goals I will never visit this website ever again.

Well there is further proof that all crap gets luck. A win by default is nothing to write home about lizards. Redan have half a side out and you played to your absolute best (which was still terrible- i watched). I rate this up with When Zimbabwe beat Australia in a one dayer at $101, When Aussie Joe Bugner (chump and national embaressment) went the distance with Muhammed Ali or when Mick Dodd acted like he had a successful senior footy career... They were all super lucky occasions that happen rarely and still have no influence on the normal world. They definately dont rate up there with super occasions like when Darley slapped the Marsh this year (for about the the tenth year running), the day when Drew Edwards flogged Steve Wintle at Maccas or the day that Travis Minns kicked 8 on Magpie at Darley Park. THEY JUST DONT RATE LIKE THOSE MOMENTS!!! anything that matters in footy happens in September (or at darley park)
Its fine to bag the lower sides all you like, but a bit of credit wheres it due
no one would of expected that result except a marsh supporter.

First of all well done to the marsh, u hacks played out of your skins. I watched the game and Redan were terrible. Redans midfield was smashed all day,Edwards never looked like it and the skipper battled untill he went off late in the last with that foot injury. Two things need to happend at Redan if there going to play in september. 1 get another forward, Murrahy was great in the first half but old red had nothing left after the main brake. Big sauces days of winning games are over. 2nd Snibson needs to go, i went out to hear him talk to his troops and he hasn't got it in him to be a coach. I bet my life on it he was picked on from an early age, there are only a few reddogs in the world that like the spotlight and his not one of them. At the last change when the lions had there backs to wall it was Murrahy that called the boys in for a rev up. From watching the game its like they wont play for him and thats a big worry.

All of the above.. Simple answer to a simple question from a simple person, meh!!!!!!!!! Speak to us in in the spring when we are banging your girls at the Ballarat cup with our medallions around our neck...
Gee whiz we could always buy a grand final berth like sebas did when they imported half of the tiwi islands and then have been nothing short of an embaressment of a club for the next decade, we could merge with another club and buy another preliminary final loss like east point and still be no closer, we could spend cash like the Marsh did for a few seasons and then have a social rooms that looks like a pigeon club like they do, we could spend cash and then have 16 grand final players walk out on us like Sunbury have had, we could move to another league because we dont have 22 teeth in the whole club like Daylesford did or we could just go and buy 60 unemployed supporters that sleep with their sisters and then not pay our players like Melton South. I think we are better off breeding our locals like we are and getting a few quality top ups like Melton did and getting a great coach (which we have), like Redan DID and setting up a good club from top to bottom. Darley is still a WORK IN PROCESS and everybody at the club knows that however, it is merely a nip and tuck job for us- ITS A SERIOUS RECONSTRUCTION for a few others.
We also judge sucess by our bank budget and our ability to survive in the future. Anybody who knows anything about financials in the comp will know that Darley are one of the clubs in a very stable position and dont rely on illegal gambling and stripper nights like Melton South.
P.s- chief is back.... that rite fo?
Totally agree, BUT the devils have parted with a fare bit of cash over the journey and havent played off. And if they dont this year with there outlay then when?
well done to the boys from the marsh back to back wins which hasnt been achieved for a while! looks as thow you boys are starting to gel and with still a couple of guys out of the senior side you may still make a charge for the finals but if not i think you will be more than competitive for the rest of the year!

I still struggle to see where the cash that every body says the devils are paying is actually going? Obviously the 3 recruits that they got would be getting a decent wack (like the best 3 players of all the good sides do) but the rest of the side consists of local boys who i know play for well under MARKET VALUE. Brad Miller could fetch whatever he wanted in country footy and i know for a fact that he is playing for less than a third of what he was offered from another club in the pre-season. He as well as many other locals are playing for lesser amounts in the hope of playing in a premiership- and more importantly a premiership that is made up with a large majority of local flavour.
With this in mind i would be very suprised that Darleys budget would be in the top 4 in the league because what they are paying out for the quality recruits, they are actually saving through the incredible loyalty of a local group of mates that are also known as "the Darley boys". We all know that you hate us guys because we hurt you physically and verbally but the fact of the matter is that we have 2-300 people at every function, we are the most loyal group of mates at any club in the BFL and we are willing for personal sacrifice in the quest for team success.
Let me ask you this- Would Shane Hutchinson give up buying Krispy Kremes every time he gets off a plane at Sydney airport for team success at East? Would Matt Sutton stop chatting up girls on facebook for team success at Melton South? Would John Northey think about a facelift or moisturiser for team success at Ballarat? would Bacchus Marsh think about developing and keeping one of their good junior footballers in the next 20 years in the hope of team success? or would Tony Liberatore swapping the creamy carbonara sauce on the Gnocci in place of the Matriciana (mustards favourite) for team success at Sunba (ohhh sunba)?
The answer to them is NO!!! thats why we will win this year and we will be sipping the bubbly behind the glass in September and the marsh will still be drinking home brew in Oscar Attards pidgeon shed after games.....
Thats all good and well, but your still forking out 80 to 100k including your coach,as you were with Power and Elliott and you still havent progressed past the prelim? How long can you afford to do that?
After all this time i thought a bit of common sense might sink into to ridiculous bunch. Don't ever get sucked into the hype around marsh recruits.
Hi guys, Scobes here!!
I continually hear about how good all the locals have come on over the past few season's, and at this stage, all looks rosy.
But let's give credit, where credit is due. I'm the one, who for four years, breed and nertured you young locals as if you were my own. Without my guidance, you all would running out at 12pm for the "Rockbank Rams", who were your "big Brother" club back then.
As for drinking bubbly come September, my power forward line of Sutts, Dain Train, Big Bad Rooter, Unstoppable Reado and little Sweety should prove to be too much for you guys to handle.
Not long to go, bye for now.
