Looks like the off season has brought back some of the boys competative edge. We saw Don Kelly (historical society) on Friday afternoon after he had been at the Club during new boys/new boys families induction day that day.

The news is all good. "They'll bet each other over 2 flies crawling up a wall and the winner gets the spoils as if it's a life or death situation" he reckons.

Brownies given up on boxing training and is now into full on sparring with Max Kennedy they reckon. Max got him a good one the other day apparently, blood nose and all. Looks like big JB is back to his getting injured/or injuring others at training regime.

And there are a couple of spas in the rooms at the Gabba (those who've done that tour will know them - in between the locker room and showers). One of them in a now a cold plunge pool, down to around a freezing 8 - 10 degs or so. So what do they boys do? Start competing to see who can stay under water in it the longest! Voss was leading on 20 something seconds till Brown hit 31 seconds the other night.

Black is apparently training like he's got demons in him. Not satisfied till he's done it harder, longer, stronger, and better than asked of him.

Power's recoving from a badly cut foot from glass on their xmas/new year break.

Lappins leg is as good as expected.

Cam Wood has bulked up more than expected after his first year and raring to go.

Irish lads fitting in well all though struggling a bit with the dietry and training reigimes. They reckon their friends back home at xmas thought they were mad when they said they had to lose weight because they are so skinny (their skinfolds apparently aren't too flash).

There was plenty more news but I'm struggling to remember it all at once. I'll post it when I can if you want.

I've heard that Mitch Clark has been incredibly impressive at training too.

Sublime athleticism and disposal skills.

If thine own mouth proclaimeth a dragon to be a dragon even tho' it be a lizard, who wouldst thou know the difference?
