The renewal of membership has landed, and on the last page there is a fantastic team photo of the boys on Grand Final Day holding the Premiership Cup.
The only thing missing is Chris Scott.
Why didn't he make it?
(If you look closely, you will notice a strange man made it, he is wearing earphones.......... I thought that was strange)

BrisGirl I was just haveing a look at the photo in which you were refferring too and I don't have a clue of where Scotty was while that photo was taken. He most probably would be behind Lapps, Braddy and Possum. That is all I could suggest.

Good spotting there BrisGirl!!!!!

You'll find the answer in the premiership magazine published by the Lions I quote from the Chris Scott article ~
"The emotions showed on the face of the 1998 Lions club champion. While most rejoiced wildly and openly, he was barley able to speak. He missed many of the team celebration shots on the ground immediately after the presentation and has his head bowed in the others".

Thanks Loza......
That explains it, as I am still awaiting my Membership copy of the Premiership magazine.
It is just that Chris is one of my favourites and missed him immediately when I went looking for him.
I hope he doesn't look back on that day and regret not being in the photos. As there is nothing wrong with showing your emotions, especially when you have every reason to show them at that moment of your life.

There is a photo in the magazine, it is of the fellas on the MCG after the celebrations in the dressing rooms and Scotty looks very happy and outstandingly cute/ spunky/ hot etc, along with all the other fellas.
Enjoying the moment as he and all the other players would have been. Emotions are the best thing about guys when they show them, it shows that they are also human as they don't show their emotions very often and it is good to get it all out of the system.
Who are your other fave players????

A favourite moment from the GF is Chris and AL totally overcome and embracing on their knees moments after the siren. It just shows the length of the journey.

OldLion, I agree with you......
That moment just when the siren went and Chris's face broke for 1/2 second but in the same instant collected himself again. I love that moment, it was beautiful.
And Possum Notting, after watching the Grand Final it is really hard to single anyone out because at the moment they were all my favourit, but I have to be honest with you, other than Chris Scott I will inform you of my other favourite's and they have been for many years.....
Nigel Lappin.......
Nigel has been playing consistant, beautiful football for many years. Year in and year out. Some of his play in the midfield is just gorgeous to watch and I have loved every goal he has kicked. Because you don't expect him to kick them, it is always a treat when he does.
the other...
Darryl White......
When the ball is going down to the opposition's end and you are becoming a little tense....Darryl pulls one from the sky...lands, and gets up, holds the ball up to show me he has it....like he is saying...'It's alright, I have got it' I love that. Darryl has been consistant throughout his whole football career.
My soft spots are for Marcus Ashcroft and Beau McDonald.
And recently, since last year in fact, Chris Johnson. I have loved Chris's recent confidence of coming out of the back line and running the ball down to kick for goal. The game against North Melbourne at Colonial where he made the spurt run and hit the post and he did same thing in the Grand Final. If either one of those plays were kicked true, they would have been goal of the year.
So, there it is..........I have to stop or I will end up naming the whole team.
I love my footy team and I am proud of them.

There are now 2 times I have seen Nigel Lapping cry.............1st time, the night the merger happened when he came up into the social club bistro to see friends about 30 mins after the announcement, and 2nd time after the GF. I will never forget either of them.

I noticed when watching the tape of the grand final again a week or so ago ... after the presentation of the cup when the team all get down off the dais and into their little 'pile' for the photos... Chris Scott is still standing on the dais embracing Craig Ellis while the first 'group' photos are being taken.
In other examples of the 'group photos'.. obviously taken a little later after Chris had managed to get down the stairs of the dais Chris is in the top corner above Lynchy (whether with his head bowed or looking away to the right - I don't think I've seen one where he's been looking a t the camera)
Hope this helps to explain how he missed out on the first ones..

It's actually surprising, the amount of times C.Johnson tried that this year - a long run from HB, resulting in a shot on goal - only to just narrowly miss, or hit the post. It happened 6 or 7 times, in different games this season.
