Who are the NTFL playing? When is the game? Is Damien Hale coaching the side? Who is likely to miss out of the 24 man squad?

It's not the all stars. It is a representative NTFL side. I know Nathan Gilliland (Euroa), Chris Atkins (Kyabram), Karl Lohde (Dimboola), Peter MacFarlane (Dimboola) are from VCFL sides. There could be a couple of others also!

Can someone explain this side to me? Is it just like naming the all australian (ie a chance to recognise the competitions best players) or are there actually games played? What would the strength of this league be roughly the equivalent to in Victoria? Cheers

CheersYeah basically it's picked on form both coloured and white.I noticed though there wasn't that many aboriginals picked...i could be wrong (correct me if i am ).....i think it matches most vc div 1 leagues if not better ?? Does any one know why the aborgnal all star game vs an afl team wasnt on this year ?? and finally was there a match result release on that ntfl v nth adl match over the w/e just finished ?? would be interested in who made the best players for the NT side.

I can count 13 who are aboriginal players.

NT was beaten by 23 points.

BIGANT, to answer your question re the All-Stars ... The AFL, AFL-NT and the NT Gov't signed an agreement to stage another AFL All-Stars game in Darwin in early in 2007, most likely February. This was agreed to around the time of the 2005 game (vs. Carlton). The All-Stars are made up of AFL players with a few non-AFL players used to 'top up' the side, who mainly come from the NTFL -- in 2003 we saw Raphael Clarke; in 2005 we saw Ed Darcy, John Bonson and Shannon Rusca, from memory.

And the NTFL vs. North Adelaide game is being replayed on ABC2 (channel 126 on Austar) on Sunday, Feb 12 @ 1pm (check for local times).

The majority of the players had their moments but not to many were consistant over the 4 quarters.

Ashley Wedding kicked two goals in the first quarter and looked on fire ended up kicking about 3.5 also took an absolute screamer in the third quarter.

Any particular player you want to know about. I have watched nearly every AFLNT game this year.

Just fixed that last bit up for you there, NT Bomber. AFL-NT is the admin; NTFL is the comp. :)

All players have played well for their respective teams this year.

Gibson & Gilliland probably lack a yard in pace but are main men in the midfield for their clubs this year.

Atkins has had a good season and can kick a long goal. Sheppard played well early in the rep game but in my opinion hasnt improved a great deal over the last couple of years.

Good ruckman are rare in Darwin not to many big blokes.

Bit of a mystery that one. President said something about selections and not following club policy.

Paul seemed to have done a good job last year and so far this year.

In saying that lots of players at training Tuesday & tonite. Should be an interesting game this week against Waratahs if most of their players havent left.

Peter Shepperd had a season down in the western border with vic club heywood, although a match winner and exciting to watch when he was on song when he was'nt on song he would go missing !! plus he started to lose interest because they were loosing all the time,he won't be back there this year

Didnt seem to have a lot of players at training and from what I heard didnt consult/use the senior players enough eg. Daryl White, Adrian Mcadam. Rumours were that a number of players where not going to continue but most have trained and have been named this weekend.

Waratahs always seem to lose their southern players this time of the year if they cant make the finals.

Nightcliff still the same but have been qualifying Ronnie Burns for the finals, still need a bit more in the midfield for my liking.
