WOW! This is big news Sammyg and if true then a party is certainly called for because without Alphonse I would never have made it in the VAFA community. I think TPB and Oggy's Cousin feel the same way!

I'll get back to everyone with a time, date and place for a party once i've confirmed the great man is leaving our shores....

The VAFA community sadly announces the departure of one of its favourite sons, Alphonse! The VAFA legend is set to live overseas after determining that his business would profit more greatly if he moved offshore and started producing his product in a 3rd world country.

So it's with sadness that I have to announce the Official VAFA Alphonse Departure Party this saturday night at 3 Degrees (QB Building) starting from 8pm. Management inform me the venue will be very crowded so I've managed to pull us a guest list for the evening. All those wishing to attend should send a PM and I'll add you to the list.

Bon Voyage Alphonse...

Great thanks for that KR. Any chance of Alphonse making it to the rippers later in the evening?

I think there are many on this forum who owe a debt of gratitude to the great man Alphonse, I just hope the Nobbers can do it for him this year. There is no harder man in all the VAFA community. Let's hope he still finds time to log on when he is OS.

Thank you for your kind words Knight Rider and Sammy G. It is true, i will be away for 2006-07 but am confident that NOBSPC will thrive in my absence and upon my return we will back in A Grade.

KR could you please add the name "Mick Sholly" to the list. The head honcho has confirmed he will be in attendance to pay his respects to the great Alphonse.

I have so much respect for this man after we went at it like gladiators at the Gillon on a very rain soaked Saturday afternoon.

And who could forget when the papparazzi followed him to the Bratwurst and Hotdog Hotel... ahh good times.

I'm going to miss the big fella and there may be a tear in the eye come Saturday night.

We love you Alphonse, take care buddy...

KR, are there any early indications of what type of young lass might be attracted to such an event? What sort of skirt does Alphonse usually associate with?

While Alphonse prefers the larger lady when KR & TBP are in town the quality is sure to be good!

Thank god KR and TBP will be there to attract the right sort of talent.

Dosen't surprise me about Alphonses choice of lady. From what I can gather he is bit of a maverick and lone shark, so it would be normal for him to totally disregard the "No Fat Chicks" rule that the rest of us live by.

Alphonse is a disillusioned man these days. Pre Xmas he was a man in form but the so-called finer gender has burnt him like a bit of toast on so many occasions that he is a very jaded individual.

I think most of us can relate to this.

One can only hope that his o/s jaunt with a self confessed lady killer will reap the happiness that he so desperately seeks.

Good luck 'Phonsie

Farewell Alphonse. As you sail off into the sunset I know they will be playing your song.

Surely elton john's "daniel" would have been more appropriate?

Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for spain
Oh and I can see daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes

They say spain is pretty though I’ve never been
Well daniel says it’s the best place that he’s ever seen
Oh and he should know, he’s been there enough
Lord I miss daniel, oh I miss him so much

Daniel my brother you are older than me
Do you still feel the pain of the scars that won’t heal
Your eyes have died but you see more than i
Daniel you’re a star in the face of the sky

Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane
I can see the red tail lights heading for spain
Oh and I can see daniel waving goodbye
God it looks like daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes
Oh God it looks like daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes

Sammy - that is rather amusing indeed. However, I think the 2006 version will be by Alphonse MovesOn, and will be available for sale over the bar at Gillon Oval starting in early April.

You were sorely missede Handsome.

The bad news is that Alphonse didn't make it to the drinks planned at QV, I think he was still reeling from a big night on Friday.

However, to my delight, I peered across the D- Floor at the York Street Institution and I saw Alphonse at his finest. The paparazzi was out in force so expect to see a few photos up on Big Footy in a within days.

His partner in crime, Hutchy, was also nowhere to be seen but my sources tell me that he was spotted arguing with bouncers outside 161 in the wee hours of Sunday.

It was disappointing not to see Old Trinity's Big Cat. He is a shadow of his former self!

Big shout out to The Big Pineapple and Knight Rider (Happy Birthday KR) and also Destination A Grade who re-asserted himself in Old Ivanhoe corner.

Never had I seen three men dictate terms better than TBP, KR and SMG. Quickly retiring to my normal position by the ATM, I observed women-a-plenty either quickly ushered on or embraced by the above-mentioned party depending on looks.

After not being able to shake a tagger, my night ended early, but I could imagine it would have carried well into Sunday for many.
