I must admit I was not that impressed with Kane Johnson's efforts as captain last year. Even though quite a consistent performer, he's not the best kick, and not prone to do many team lifting things. He's also media shy which is not good for the club profile.

I think Richo is the heart and soul of our club and should be captain.

What do others think?

Nah i'm very happy with johnson. Met and know both of them and to be honest bowden is a weird arrogant person. Love him as a player but a bit over the way he is out of football. Johnson is a great bloke and hard at it and I love him.

Fine at this stage, but won't be long term. One out of left-field to replace him, at don't want to sound all Brokeback Mountain, but I'm in love with Tucky at the moment.

If he can keep up the way he went about his footy last year for another couple, the kids coming through wouldn't need to look much further inspiration. He basically run at everything and through everything, just to keep getting that ball moving forward.

On top of that, we'd hear more of his press interviews like he gave after we beat Brisbane at the Gabba last year: "yeah it was a good win, they've been strong in the past and still a top 4 side, f----n oath!"

Deledio will be a long termer after that.

1) sugar/ Tuck/ Brown
2) Bowden
3) gaspar
4) Richo

How I seriously rank our leadership group (plus Tuck) for the role.

Jono's doin an unbelievable job. very grounded and well respected by everyone at the club including those who put him in there (the players)

This subject gets dragged up every coupla months and the same old arguments come up but with no substance behind them. If Jono was doing a terrible job and not pulling his weight then yeah, handball it to someone else eg Bowden but he's doin A.O.K. so far and looks to be getting real settled which is a great sign of things to come.

If you think someone else should be in there then you must think the grass might be greener on the other side because you cant say it IS.

Thats for sure. I still say why give it to a player that has only been at the club a short time. As Joel is Richmond in all ways. Would of been good to see him get it.
