I've seen more than 10 sessions now and Im think a few things are becoming clear;

Versatility and mobility are going to be important. The players have been thrown all over the park. Eade is prepared to back his tactical nous and wants the chess pieces to move.

Skills. I said to Scooter and Raw Toast today that I just couldnt see a place for guys like Libba anymore. The passing is just so exact and mistakes really stand out. Even a kick that is a little up and under holds up the play.

Injury management. I think we are going to be very careful with our injurys. It seems like we are going to let blokes fully recover and be very pro-active in preventing injuries. Guys are bought off the track and assessed very carefully if there is any hint of a problem.

A lot of drills seem to focus on close quarters stuff. Three or four players in a circle with one in between trying to knock the ball away. Dont know what this means but the players love it. From what I've sen Monty seems to be the club champ.

Strength and positioning. The players look bigger and more conditioned, the new drafteess stand out like 9 stone weaklings, and a lot of work is done on marking contests. Silvagni does most of the work here.

The other track watchers can post their findings.

What does this drill mean?

And what about tackling?

I want us to start hurting other teams again.

I don't have anything to add because i haven't seen the boys training since the day the scoreboard came down, but i want to thank local and all the other training reporters for providing such detailed and regular information. I have never felt so in touch with how the guys are travelling through pre season.
