I want a membership, money and time is another thing. I am starting Uni this year, so I have no idea as to what to expect in my schedule. I will no doubt be watching every Collingwood match, just depends if it is at home on the couch or at the ground, I don't know yet.

I don't have the money to spend either, it is a crucial thing money to anybody, but especially for an 18 yr old, with fees, car and extra expenses, it is difficult, as is a job, then again, my schedule is unknown to what to expect, I might not have any money.

Just so you know, LFF, and keep in mind I have no idea what course you're doing, but I started Uni last year, and I still went to all 18 games in Melbourne.

The thing is, if you want to go to a game and you have Uni work to do, you have to make yourself work harder in the time you're not at the game. And, with things like reading, you can often do it on the way to the game, and in quarter breaks.

However, I don't know if you've been told this, but it's something everyone should be told when considering VCE and Uni, but Uni is significantly LESS work than Year 12 is.

Uni work is more intellectually stimulating, difficult, and much less pointless than VCE work, but on the the whole, there is less of it in most cases, so you should actually find yourself less 'busy' as such, than you were while doing Year 12.

Lonie usually the case is that uni gives you more time off and is less demanding than VCE.

Really good help there, and the thing with me, I won't be becoming a Uni bum, ie. won't be attending any Social Events etc.

Doing Accounting/Banking & Finance at Vic Uni (Footscray), there you go, I come from Berwick, so, there is no-way that the social calendar will be looked at. I just hope to get to all my lectures, and get out of there.

At the moment, I have $200, so, I might just put it forward now. I have a few weeks to do stuff with mates before getting into a different mode, aswell as saving money. So an 11 game concession might do the job!

I'm doing accounting at TAFE hopefully after this year (my 2nd year) I will be able to go on to study at Uni. It is much easier than VCE because there isn't much pressure to get perfect results and the exams don't outweigh other course work (they are still worth 50% but they don't have that stupid weighting system), that is what got me screwed in VCE, I got pretty good results but average results in the exams.

I keep spending money  I have to stop it. I stayed at home for like 1 1/2 weeks non-stop, just so I wouldn't spend money, than the last 4-5 days, I have spent over $200, not happy, but when you go out, you have to spend money I guess.

Decided not to re-new a membership after hearing the club has reportedly thrown $500,000 to the Rumbalara Football Club over the next 5 years. Have had 3 generations of my family represent the Pies on the playing field, all would be shattered at this news if its true, so I will just sit patiently for a year or two until my MCC ticket comes thru.

Collingwood, Rumbalara strike deal

By Richard Goodbody
August 18 2005
Shepparton News

Collingwood Football Club - arguably the most powerful sporting club in Australia - has strengthened its ties with Rumbalara by signing an estimated $500 000, five-year deal.

In a tripartisan arrangement between the two clubs and the Pratt Foundation, the long-term security of Rumbalara looks set in stone after the ground-breaking announcement yesterday.

"It's wonderful news," Rumbalara chief executive Carol Smith said.
"Not just for Rumbalara, but for Shepparton as a whole.
"Opportunities like this do not come around every day."

While the exact details of the arrangement remain cloudy, Smith did confirm the Magpies would be assisting Rumbalara through coaching, monetary and mentoring means.

"There will be a lot of ways in which they will be providing help for the club," she said. "We will have access to their players for coaching clinics, for advice and for a host of other activities.

"It's exciting."

The relationship between Collingwood and Rumbalara was forged in November when the Magpies selected Chris Egan with their first pick in the National Draft.

Egan has since represented Collingwood on 12 occasions after making a memorable debut in round eight against Richmond.

Yesterday Magpies president and football heavyweight Eddie McGuire said the announcement was exciting for all involved.

"We welcome Rumbalara Football and Netball Club as a sister club," McGuire said.

"Our club has a long history of social responsibility and commitment to the community - it is a vital part of our culture.

"We are proud of our position as the biggest sporting club in Australia, but we are just as proud of our position as the biggest philanthropic sporting club in the country."

It is believed Rumbalara's commitment not just to sport, but to community life, was the clincher in striking the deal.

"Rumbalara is making a real difference in the indigenous community around Shepparton," McGuire said.

"It has become a flagship for other clubs around Australia through its community health, education and job creation programs."

Oh I'm aware about the uni, I'm going into my third year at Sunbury campus. The administration of the joint is pathetic.

I will be at Footscray Park every day next week for a summer subject (Aquatics) to get my life saving certificate, and basically so I only have to do three subjects for the real semester, we still don't know what we have to do, bring etc.

Footscray Park campus is like an absolute maze too.

Captains Membership (Concession) and Social Club. Pretty lucky that Dad pays for mine because it gets a bit rich. Reserved seats for every home game, good ones too.

Level 2 N12 at MCG, row B (old Social Club). Eddie actually sat in that section for all home games with his mates - Kevin Rose, Demetriou, Newman, Lou Richards etc

Level 1 Aisle 2 at TD, row A. Just to the left of the cheer squad.

When I want to go to away games I take my cousins AFL membership or my little sister's ticket which admits to away games.

Don't agree, I just reckon it's wrong, why not throw $500,000 into the VCFL for junior development if they've got that much to spare? Guess I have competed against Rumbalara for 3-4 seasons and think they do quite alright without further assistance. What Murray League clubs could compete against a $100,000 a year "leg up" before a ball is bounced?

My opinion only . . . sorry if I offended anyone

The donation is to the Rumbalara community to be passed out where most neccessary it is not a $100,000 a year sponsorship of their football club.
It is one of the few indigenous communities in Victoria , after having a few unfortunate incidents with aboriginals in the past , I see only positives in us helping sustain an important community for many.
To not buy a membership because Collingwood are donating money to an area that you play football against is petty and absurd.

I will probably get a season ticket because I wont be able to make many games thus not wanting to get anything more like reserved seats but still want to contribute towards the club and get to as many games as I can!!!

I went and watched training this morning and then went to Lexus centre to upgrade to social club membership this year. Had a quick chat to Rusling in the cafe, seems like a great kid and was pretty positive about the operation. Rhyce Shaw has put on a stack of bulk, and was being encouraged by the group training in the middle as he ran quick half laps around the track - can't wait to see him back in the side.
Got a great photo of Taz taking a specie over the Wizard Mortgage Beast that was there for a photo session at training, with all laughing at the grunt let out by the beast on contact. Minutes later, the beast revealed who was inside - a short grey haired woman! GOLD:D

Didn't give too much away in that regard, but looks pretty upbeat and said all went well, say probably on a best case rather than worst case scenario from initial reports. He is also a very big lad now, and can see every bit of those 12added kilo's!
