Just having a look at the NRR section on the PC points table
If you work out each team's average runs per wicket for vs against an interesting trend appears.
State Points NRR R For W For R Agst W Agst Bat Avg Bowl Avg
Vic 24 1.148 3277 104 3294 120 31.5 27.5
Qld 22 1.171 3601 102 3406 113 35.3 30.1
NSW 20 1.299 3715 83 3479 101 44.8 34.4
SA 20 1.128 3930 99 3908 111 39.7 35.2
WA 14 0.764 3660 130 3794 103 28.2 36.8
Tas 8 0.705 3596 127 3898 97 28.3 40.2
It's the bowling avg that gets you to the top of the ladder, not the batting avg.
If you can't bowl the opposition out twice, you won't get the points. NSW and SA are far away the best batting teams, but their bowling lets them down. WA and Tas have been crap at both! The Vic's batting's been avg, but the bowlers have saved the day.
