Today herald sun had mike sheahans 2006 pre season report on the pies.
He had Tristen Walker in our best 22 at CHB. STUPID WAN%$#
Hes also went on to say that he couldn't understand why scott campo was allowed to go to essendon in the pre season draft.
Maybe because hes OLD sheahan you moran! Think the pies have had enough of old has beens comming in.
Also wouldn't name TARRANT as a forward pocket, he will obviously play across 50 with Rocca in the square.
Dont think hes done collingwood justice with the team hes named. What do you people reckon?

IMO this is wrong because at the start of the season presti & wakes will be our FB-CHB combo, but i points out a glaring hole in the pies defense as after those two blokes the next players in line are all probably a tad to small to play on the big power forwards....clement, maxwell & j.cloke
tex could be an answer if he pulls his finger out and shows something

maybe because if you look at our midfield it has no stars
Buckley & Burns cant be relied on to dominate games let alone seasons anymore, especially Burns, hopefully Bucks can
then a string of triers in Licka, Holland, O'Bree, Lockyer, B.Johnson
after that its a group of streaky players who have failed to deliver as yet, didak, l.davis, r.shaw, r.lonie
then after them youngsters
campo would have got a game in the pies best 22, as a sweeper off the HBF or as a link man, he would be much more effective than say o'bree or lockyer
this is sheahans point

why will taz obviously play across HF??
people on these forums have been saying that for years, taz even was AA when played up the ground, yet malthouse still plays him at FF......even when Rocca is in the team

team is a fair crack
few things
he thinks Fraser is No#1 ruck
realises we need to groom a new CHB to replace wakes
he has included Malthouse favourites in Lockyer & Morrison
In a perfect world Walker would be able to hold down CHB.
Not putting Rhyce in the side is another thing.
Fraser is our #1 ruck, but the side he wrote included no back up.

Maybe and I still hold out hope. But he has a lot to prove. Nobody in their right mind would select him tomorrow though at CHB ahead of Wakelin Presti Clement Maxwell or J Cloke. Maybe in 2007 but not this season, at least not at the start of the year.

It ain't a perfect world and he can't play football

Just looking at Mike's team:
-I doubt Burns will begin on the bench that often
-Ditto Maxwell - a coach and fan favourite (with good reason may I add). He is ahead of Walker
-Rocca is our CHF, I doubt Travis will take that mantle off him just yet
-Buckley should begin on the ball - he will pilot the midfield in the early stages of quarters (at least)
-Cameron Cloke isn't in our top 25 as yet.
It is easy to pick peoples best teams apart. In all fairness to Mike, its never an easy job - particuarly when a team, like us, is going through an interesting stage.
Just on big Tex, he was used as a defender in the latter stages of 2004, and made his debut opposed to Matthew Richardson in round one of 2003 (the enigmatic Tiger was held to 1.6!). So you can see where Mike is coming from, however - he is a much better forward than a defender, and is not in our best side (as far as I can see).
Mike Sheahan has always had something against the pies.
In a perfect world, he would be able to play football.
It ain't a perfect world and he can't play footballBingo – which begs the question, why is he still on the list? Big, athletic but can’t use his body and can’t get the ball. It’s Ben Kinnear all over again.

He was terrible that game! Tex was hopeless! It was richos bad kicking that held him to 1.6. Think richo kicked a few on the full if my mind serve me correctly.
Tex will struggle to hold down CHB at WILLY yet alone Collingwood seniors!!!!

You can't bag Sheahan for suggesting you maybe should have selected Camporeale, because you are all looking to the future, and at the same time bag him for selecting Tex at CHB when its bleedingly obvious that you desperately need to give guys like him (there's not many other young options) opportunities to nail a spot in the spine.
I know its hip to bag the guy for everything he writes, but he has his friggen job for a reason.

Well he may as well put J.A there because Tex and J.A have done the same amount in there careers!!!
P.S
J.A will be a STAR!
The guy is a journo he is paid make take the odd gamble in his predicitions and think outside the square. I dont really like the guy but i dont think he was too far off the mark.
He has every right not to talk the team up too much. Fact is the last to years we have been average, even if you consider the injuries.
The only thing that matters is what happens from round 1 and to be honest I dont think anyone really has a clue whats going to happen and who will be in our best 22

Tristan Walker is a waste of space!!!!! bring up a rookie and get rid of him!
Mike, TOOL OF THE YEAR!!! :thumbsu:

He should have been used as trade bait, a third or 4th round pick would be a fair swap.
And you're right Mark, he is another Kinnear.
Take away his height, and I could beat him.

I found today's review of Essendon amusing. It was humourous to see him gushing over the likes of Jobe Watson and co.
