View Full Version : New Merger Rumour: Heartland Tigers

Mr Crow!
16th February 2006, 14:47
Heard today that there are plans in the preliminary stages to prepare the public of Melbourne for a new merged team, to make way for the eventual second team in the Sydney Market.

The AFL, wary of creating a cloned hybrid team based on mediocrity... consisting of variables of either the Western Bulldogs or Kangaroos, have selected two traditional powerhouses: Essendon and Richmond.

Sources state that the AFL has realised the detriment to the league that is currently caused the the non-Victorian dominant teams. On the flipside, the AFL needs to entrench the Northern Market whilst still maintaining a 16 team competition.

Therefore, moves are underway to cement the merging of two Victorian powerhouses who form the Heartland of Victorian Football... Essendon and Richmond. The new team, which is concieved to come into incorporation in an estimated 5 years time will be known as the Heartland Tigers. Bombers have been ruled out due to political correctness.

Jersey Design: Black is the common colour, and will be featured as a Black Vertical stripe. Similar to the traditional St. Kilda guernsey, the jumper will feature left and right vertical stripes, displaying the colours Red and Yellow... colours of Essendon and Richmond.

The back of the jumper will be solid back, except for the players number, which will be yellow.

Essendon will be balanced by red shorts, which will also represent the color of blood, therefore the Heart... Heartland Tigers.

The AFL has gaurunteed to underwrite Kevin Sheedy, on his last mission of duty for the AFL, by coaching the newborn club... representing both sides of the heritage.

Look for further revelations in the coming months.

PHASE ONE of the AFL's "21 Alpha" plan has come to fruition during the past few days. Making the public aware of the future plans to start up new franchises in West Sydney and the Gold Coast.

PHASE TWO of "21 Alpha" is then reducing the 18 team competition back to 16 teams, with the HEARTLAND TIGERS on the early agenda.

I have been informed.

Carlton are the team moving to Sydney. They will be joining forces with the Canterbury NRL side. They will be called the Blueberries. You heard it here first.

If that doesn't come off, then Richmond will be moving to Sydney, based out of Lilyfield. They will be known as the Tiger Lilies. They were to affiliate with a Japanese church and be called the Heavenly Hirani Tiger Lilies but pending legal action from the Michael Hutchence estate and Bob Geldof's Bore the World Foundation has put an end to that suggestion.

Kevin Sheedy will coach them, he likes Martians.

By the way, I have been told of what the HEARTLAND TIGERS strip will look like. Imagine the current Richmond guernsey, howver, will red smaller diagonal stripes either side of the yellow one. The red stripes will be half the size of the yellow one. Red shorts will be worn, and the socks will be red, yellow and black hoops.

The new Essendon clash jumper is a way for the powers-that-be to test the market, in order to introduce the modified merged jumper.

The jumper would be based off the current Bombers clash jumper, with the top corner being changed to Gold, with the bottom corner remaining black, to ensure a Red, Gold, Black combination.
