I'm sitting on the fence for this one.
I think MM will give him another year to prove himself worthy of being vc of Collingwood, but my other feeling is MM will strip Tarks of the vc position.
I think somoene else should be a VC, he can still be a leadership figure. He was given this title before his knee troubles when he was an impressive young player. He is now an older battler and the title should be given to one of Maxwell, Licuria, Holland, Fraser, Johnson.

I reckon it should be given to Lica, He deserves it.

Fraser is the first player that springs to mind. He is certainly a leader among the Collingwood players.

We arent Hawthorn. Gotta have good players in the leadership group. There are better than Tarks.
i dont think he should, but he will remain.
my leadership group;
Captain - Nathan Buckley
Vice Captains - James Clement, Anthony Rocca
Deputy Vice-Captains - Josh Fraser, Paul Licuria, Nick Maxwell, Alan Didak
got to plan for the future and get some leadership skills / experience into the likes of maxy, josh and dids.
No.
We need leaders, not mascots.
Plus, Lockyer should be battling for a spot. He's no winger or midfielder. I can name about 3 or 4 superior half-forward options, and with guys like Heath, Swan, Iles, Johnson, Davies and even O'Brien putting their hands up for defensive small spots, then he should be competing not to be spending time at Williamstown.

He is an excellent leader, as most track watchers would know.
He had his good moments last year, and is a player who possesses an excellent work ethic. He has got to the top the hard way, and is a terrific example to all players filtering through the ranks.
I think he will survive the cull, however we may see fresh blood in Fraser and Maxwell instated into the leadership team.

:cool: after speaking to someone who works at the club i was told that Collingwood approached Buckley this year giving him the option of handing the captaincy over to Clement, but he refused!!

He's still got the courage through however maybe Licca or someone like that should have a go.
