Although only half of Hird's salary is included on the salary cap, who do you think essendon will go after when Hird retires and we have a huge gap on the salary cap?

Depends on a lot of things.

Who's availiabale
If they want to trade if us
If we have what they want
If they want to play for us

Not many big names change clubs these days so it wont be easy to give that money to another big name

Also have to think that Lloyd will go onto the Veterans List very soon, as from memory he started when he was 17 and is 28 this year (i think)

Will free up a fair bit of coin over the coming years

Stants, Bradley, McPhee, Dyson, Hille, Lovett etc will probably be demanding bigger contracts so most of it will be used on that i suspect.

With these guys all on the improve I think we'll need all the money we can find, and that Hird's salary will quickly be used up in 07.
