from today night 30-odd point win by seymour, i saw the bests from, scott mckenzie, brent leserf, jac smith williams, eamon mannix and shannon oconner was very good in the ruck.
Must be getting old, saw Euroa/Seymour round 1 had a look at HDFL thirds today and was amazed at the amount of youngsters donning the white boots. Have I missed something or is funky hair doo's and lairy boots just the norm in footy these days???

seymour thirds are a disgrace, there premreship drought will DEFINETLY continue this year and odds are another 30 years. jac smith williams couldn't get a kick last year in the KD. jac wanted to play in a side where he could get a game. avenel thirds would beat them this year, which is why seymour tried to take half their players over the off-season. half are a bunch of hacks who cant cut it at assumption and the half play for the showers after the game http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/images/icons/icon12.gifhttp://www.bigfooty.com/forum/images/icons/icon12.gif

But yet we still have won 2 from 3 games. and i heard many times that jac kicked a bag for avenal last year, and is now carrying on his form to gv footy. u are a disgrace mate, weak effort paying out a team for having a crack. by the way i would like to see a match between seymour and avenal, lioins would win the fight and match.

GOOD FORM BROOKS!!! totally agree mate, we are sitting in the top six and were roaring load and proud. knocking off rochy at rochy is a big win for us. better players including le-cerf in the middle, smith-willliams and kliemt in the foward line and the skippers manixxx and macca across the backline ( with huge support from the reliable benny ure) your a f*****g wannker littlefooty, give a young team that is having a red hot crack at the flag a go...bring the swannies on and we will see who kick's arse buddy... smith-williams in fact is trying out with kliemt, green, hateley and le-cerf in the interleague at tatura so that shows how crap smitty really is... Mate you are an absolute drop kick! From the sounds of it, you are playing KD thirds what a great achievement that is playing against 13 yr olds. You clearly have no footballing talent hence calling half the team "hacks" when you play KD yourself, you are a disgrace to the footy world and I think you should hang your head in shame and never post again. As for the shower calls that is very mature you must be all of 13 yrs your self buddy so does your mum no that you are on the computer.

BLOODY FANTASTIC POST UNCLETOBY!!!! you just summed up this loser's football career and his small sad world and knowledge in one post. My respect for you just went through the roof. i went to a party last night in nagambie after we beat rochy up there and there we a few young kids there ( 14 15 yr olds?) and they're all telling me they rip it up in the KD so littlefooty, you obviously are a fuking hack yourself and come play in a real bloody league. HD is better than your weak KD crap you mindless :D:D:D. Uncletoby, your a champion... CARN LIONS...
not having a go at anyone here but all you seymour boys seem very confident that you will win the flag?

have to agree with numba4... seymour certainly seem confident... maybe the under 18s have been caught up with the success of the senior sides and are living in a dream world. perhaps they should realise that they dont have payed players in there side that are going to get them a premiership... that being said GO LIONS theres some good blokes in that side mckenzie n the other ack boys wen they play... but realistically no premiership for the 3rds.... just lots of pump up talk on big footy! cheers

u must be a very handy player lilfooty. not only do u know alot about the game but u are also a f u c k w i t. the lions are confident and so they should be after a very good win against rochy who have been rivals for the past few seasons. as for jac smith. he is a very clever player and has been playing some very good football. the ack boys might as well not be playing for the lions as they will be lucky to play a handful of games. the whole club has a winning feeling going around it and noone can discount that. and for the record we only have three boys from avenal. two of them have played for the past two seasons and one lives in seymour. so who about we talk about another club. maybe benalla or rochy for instance.

It is absolutly rediculous isnt it doon. there seems to be more players with white boots than the traditional black these days. i remember the days when guys that wore white boots were called gay. or pretty boys. now u must have to wear black boots to catch the umps eye

Even though u were paid out on a little bit earlier, i must say u have some ball to get on here and pump your self up. i think ya should have stayed quite and continued to prove your worth and rubbin it in on the field mate.
As for seymore's premiership hopes, i have gathered that they will be on the improve this year, but again boys you have jumped the gun in pumping yourselves up. It maybe the feelin around the club but we are only 3 rounds in, we will all have a better indication after your clash with ky this weekend. Goodluck and for all the boys the that have pumped them up i hope they go well
Hahah yeah im tipping the result v Ky will be a blow out, dont know which way though........
Out of quriosity who have u seymour boys played this year? Euroa, rochy and Benalla??? u beat both Euroa and Rochy, i dont think them two teams will be power houses this year, so i think you boys should just wait until you start playing the likes of Ky, Benalla (who you have), Mooroopna, Bears, Echuca and possibly Mansfield before you starting revving your selfs up.
Remember boys dont embarse your self 3 rounds into the season and put the pressure on yourself to play finals

Nothin against u seymore boys but i no 4 a fact that rochy r a really crap side this year (would of lost 15 players from last year and half of the 1s playin this year havnt played for years or come up from the 16s) and beating them would b no great feat. I play in the HDFL and played for rochy in round 1 against echuca and i was wondering how echuca would go, i've got great respect for the GV but if echuca r up there in 2006 the standard must b dropping. Nothin agianst the league but i havnt seen majority of the team (played rochy v seymore last year) and was just wonderin if there is 5-6 good sides and after that it really drops off?
All the best for the rest of the season boys!

yeh, u guys sure could work alot out about me from that one post, what kind of person i am and my entire football history. only thing u forgot was the U18 premreship medal i have, but other than that it was some really good stuff. wasnt saying that the KD > GV, no one's that ignorant, just that avenel > seymour. call me disrespectful, but the way u've come out blowing ur own horn and saying how great u are how ur gonna pi$$ in the premreship doesnt show much respect to other teams that can actually play football. if u guys are gonna be premiers, as so many of you have claimed, then one would assume you guys would beat kyabram this week. any of u guys care to put ur money where your mouth is and predict how u'll against the bombers?

littlefooty, good point buddy.. seymour boys you shouldn't be talking yourselves up this much, the big games are yet to come. A little enthusiasm is good but claiming to be flag contenders and a finals team is a bit much after the 3RD ROUND!! Come on fellas, no offence at all, but a bit of respect to the other teams in the league who have really shined so far in the season. Seymour hosts Kyabram this week which will really test the Lions, and will see whether or not the Thirds boys will be there in September. Cheers

Ok mini footy can you or anyone else for that matter please quote a post from a seymour player declaring premiership favouritism or that they will :D:D:D:D the flag in? I haven't read any comments like this? And im sure the young lions are too smart to think like that considering the only real test they have had (benalla) resulted in a loss! As for the call that avenal is > then seymour, you my friend appear to be 'that' ignorant, enough said!!!
i hear the young cubs are flying at seymour! Have heard assistant coach muir is taking all the praise! Don't let this happen barrell, muir will shaft u for the top job when he gets his first opportunity!!

yeah fair call jazzy, muir thinks he is running the side but really he changes a couple of magnets around on the board and encourages a bit...(while making sure his superstar son:rolleyes: gets 4 quarters pftt)... and thats when he is at training or games... barrel is ten times the coach tim could ever be( not exaggerating to get a game either) and wouldnt be stupid enough to let muir shaft him... Fair point waddo, but he doesn't have to give up his personal time to HELP out the club, and fair enough to pay-out the coaching of the club 2 if ya like, but really it comes down to the 22 blokes that run out on a satdy morning.. and while i'm on the running of the club, how about some blokes in the team get fair dinkim bout there footy and step up to the u/18's mentality, and leave there u/11's brains at home when they run out on the trainin track (not everyone on the team) or this club is going no where!
Seymour Thirds seem to be the only people posting on here, and i find it quite pointless, at least 6 people on this thread are from the team. No doubt most of 'em are great blokes but if your intending on posting make it something decent, not just b*ll:D:D:D:D:D lashing your own assistant coach. C'mon boys a bit of respect. Besides the fact that his son, "Girls" the attack on the ball, thats no reason to lash his father, great bloke and has some great ideas on how to address the game. Can i ask could we please get some information about other teams in the league, and what the Home and Away season is going to end up like.... Cheers

Hey fellas just wondering who is in your interleague under 17s squad an if the team willany good, i expect u'll b a very very handy side
To answer your team Nesko i believe that all the boys that make the under 18 side cannot try out for the under 17, correct if i am wrong though. There is a nubmer of younger players trying for 18's this year and have shown in recent years that they are a good age group. I would say that the under 17 group will be a handy team but would not be near full strength as id say a few bottom age boys will play 18's interleague.
hey lads wasn't having a go at the assistant, i agree he's a great bloke. just having a joke around and i'm sure he'd see the funny side.
i bet your happy now doona you didn't take the job hey??

the u/17 could always been a good side, but as had happened in recent year players haven't shown that greater commitment to the side. The main reasons for this happening is the format that it is play and also the the venue. they being in moama in a lighting premiership style format (although it was just played in one game last year because of lack of teams). Last years team copped a belting at the hands of the murray league and it would surprise me if it doesn't happen again if the good players don't want to put there hands up and play for their league. Regardless of the format and venue players should be proud to represent their league in interleague football

ky thirds have been reasonable form so far knocking off what will probably be 2 of the higher placed teams in benella and mansfield. There game against mansfield was a scrappy game where they showed some really character when challenged by the mansfield on there own turf, without any standouts just scraped home.
From last weeks game you could not really rate it as benella was left one short after soeone got sick on the bus trip over. Players that showed some better form were benny gentle, ryan jones dominated in the ruck, simon walsh and xav hilton on there wings and sneaking up on most was frank besim who managed to put through 6 without many people realising.
Really looking forward to there match this week with seymore as they seem to be in some good form. will still need an improved effort on last week. hopefully we will have inclusions from last week and some of the boys to shake of a few injuries. Tom pryde has been struggling of late and is due for a big one and jungle martin my be back in the thirds so he will also be looking for a big one.
Hope that gives ya boys a bit of an update.
Wouldn't mind hearin some news from shepp way?

I'm sure that alot of u guys have read the draw, the shepp news, or even done geography at school.(Supposing that u are still allowed to study.)
Seymour is spelt with mour and not more.
And on the coaching of seymour, i wouldnt expect anyone to be taking the credit for anything. they have only won two games. its not like they have won a flag yet or anything like that. at the moment it is just the beginings of a good team. but they still have a long way to go. all the best too all for the coming weekends matches.;) :thumbsu:

Benalla 3rds were really understrength against ky on saturday. probably 6 of there best players injured/seniors. Expect alot better contest next time around
seymour arnt going to bad this year. we have a decent side actually but just lack commitment from a few of the players. this week we have our top ruckman out witch will be a kick in the guts and some are playing this weekend for asumption! but hopefully we have a good run this week and go well!!

Disappointing loss from the Seymour Lions today. Played well for 1st, 2nd and 4th quarters, but just let the game slip when during the third which gave Kyabram the edge. Well Done to all Seymour players, bar a few who played the WORST football i've ever seen, but otherwise good. Best Players: Scott McKenzie, Andrew Green, Jac Smith-Williams and Best On Ground, Brent Le Cerf. Get to the track Lions and your season could go far. Push back into the six!!

Anymore of you seyMOUR boys got any comments on the game from the weekend, to be honest i don't think either side played real well. Really like the way 23, i think, scott mackenzie plays, not really sure why he isn't used in a more damaging way futher up the field though.

scotty is a rock down there in the full back position... yeah wasnt too bad of a game i dont think... le-cerf played well and so did ure across half back, sidebottom played his usual game which was a bit better this time, shouldnt of let the third quarter go and maybe could of won
Mooroopna Had a lot of boys out as they had their deb that night which affected their structure of their foward line also some boys who did play also had some nigglies, i dare say different result next time they play

Yeah I reckon he should be at centre half back, both teams neither played there best games. Although McKenzie plays that deep, he does alot of damage, plays in a straight line and does a very convincing job. Co-Captain Eamon Mannix should be playing out of the centre, alot better than off the back flank he is above that position and has a stronger attack on the footy than most players in the middle. What is happening to the Shepparton sides thought they were supposed to be the 'cream of the crop'!! Also, to my knowledge I've heard that Mansfield are absolutely KILLING it, playing awesome football. Keep it up fella's... And Good Luck to the Interleague Boys this week, show them that the GV is still the best country football league!!!!!;)

Is there anyone from Shepp on here that can inform everyone what is going on with the shepp bears? I seen them play on saturday and it was a skeleton of last years premiers. Is the depth being tested by players going up to seniors and bushies?
They only have two bushies players being Matt Kelly and Matt Chapman (injured), but they have players like Dan McIntyre, Luke Sofi, Chris Cullinan playing ones. When it comes to finals if they are there at full strength, defintaly a force.

What can you tell me about Matt Kelly. He was named best for the Bushrangers against our local TAC Cup team, North Ballarat Rebels, when they played recently. His father works over this way and the little I've heard suggests he goes alright at the caper. Seems a handy size/type?
Long term VCFL major leaguer or could he go a bit further?
hey , can n e 1 tell me the final 18's interleague squad? looking to go back to back i would hope, last years team was very strong can this one do as well, who will be the best of the best??

Shepparton News
You'll understand his predicament if Goulburn Valley Football League under-18 coach Paul Serra tells you he has a headache.
A wealth of riches has the popular Tatura identity anguishing over who - from an extensive list brimming with talent - to leave out of a squad that will fly the flag this weekend.
"This squad's been training for a week and a half, but it's been hard because we started with 65 kids," Serra said.
"We've had to cut that down to 27 and we're happy with the squad we've put together."
While thrilled with his overall wealth of talent, Serra is convinced that the side's strength will be the running power that the league will be able to exercise.
"We've got a lot of good wings and running players that can really move over the ground and have got silky skills," he said.
"We've also got some good big men that can really break it up a bit too."
While Serra is buoyant about the quality of raw, young talent at his disposal, he is also acutely aware that his boys' opponents will be well prepared to make the most of the representative football limelight.
"I think we'll find out at one o'clock when we're out there competing against one another as to what they're like," Serra said.
"Going on what we saw last year they'll be big, they'll be quick and they'll be ready to play.
"Hopefully (assistant coach) Jeremy O'Brien can check out the grounds beforehand for us so that we can make sure that we've got the right mix of talls and smalls."

Matt is a very hard nut player who is very consistent, is very team orietated and maybe a little to unselfish at times where he should kick instead of handball. Should be a VCFL leaguer but depends on what course he chooses as he is a very smart kid as well i think. Has the dedicatino to push further if he wants to

Yeh big wraps for big Dr Phill what a legend this kid is. he went down to full forward against o&m and made the full back look like an amiture.Pelly and weirdo killed it weirdo was a big part of the win on Sunday against O&M, while Pelly killed it in the back line with the help of star fullback Scotty McKenzie. All boys stepped up after the first disappointing loss to lil bitch face dicky knee and the S H I T hair cut crew mustn’t have hair dressers in Ballarat. just get the whipper snipper and brush cutters out look like mangy stray poodles. good to see that Sammy could make an appearance he got a lot of the ball around the wings. Brodie Montague was awesome around the field and got allot of the ball, while Tyson warnet what can I say got the best player award.

Mooroopna are going ok i believe but would be strengthed in finals with Hockey (playing bushies), Harbrow (playing bushies) and Warnett (playing seniors soon to be a bushies player i guess as i see he is emergency).
Seymour seem to be pretty strong but have lost both testers vs Ky and Benalla
Shepp Bears in a similar possie to Mooroopna going ok but will strengthin most likely come finals with Kelly (Bushies), Chapman (Seniors and bushies), Cullinan (Seniors) McIntyre (seniors) Sofi (Seniors)

Cheers thanks for the information, as I have watched all Seymour's games I believe that they are quite good when they focus on the game, but those games, Ky and Benalla, they ran out of legs and most team members just became Passengers. Both disappointing games, but there is still the rest of the season, also I hear that Shepp Bears will become a FORCE when they are a full side, but quite a slow start for the reining premiers!
Shame on you fella's letting your thread drop back onto page 2!!! Where have all the young Lion's that were making for some good reading gone???

Matt Kelly played a game for Ararat in the Wimmera FL during the TAC Cup bye weekend. Looks a likely type. Quality young fella, hope he does well.

Hey Doona,
To my knowledge, them Seymour Boys, have just stopped because they are making a name for themselves that they can't live up to. They have dropped off and the loss to Tatura was SHATTERING! Should have had that one boys, but what can ya do?! Might have to pull their heads in and play real footy these next couple of games.
But I might mention, that Ryan Kleimt kept on going when the rest of the boys dropped off. Shepparton Bears Vs. Seymour, a tester for the Lions this week, hope they can play some real footy! SWITCH ON FELLA'S!!!

hey just wondering, who are the faveroites for each teams b&f?
Favourties from Seymour, I believe, are; Brent Le Cerf, Scott McKenzie, Ryan Kleimt, Grant Hateley, Andrew Green, Eamon Mannix (if he pulls his finger out!) and Jac Smith Williams. They all seem to have there good and bad days but they each are the best for the side, without doubt, another name that could pop up in their B&F would be Robbie Sidebottom. Those names are the best for the Seymour side, this season. No one really seems to be playing like these boys. :thumbsu: Could I also ask how Priest, Benalla, and Besim, Kyabram, are each doing for there goal kicking and general games?

Interesting to see Shepp Bears beat Ky a couple of weeks ago, a good win for the bears considering they had just come off 2 handy defeats 2 Mansfield and Benalla, and was also missing Ben Kelly. Ky had not been defeated at this stage, Good win for the Bears. Are they a chance for Back to Back Flags?? :thumbsu:

on echuca, dont know how they are with injuries or senior players, but benalla 3rds had 3 playing seniors, 1 in the bushies and a few injuries on the weekend, all key players. not sure if echuca was 100% but benalla was not
Echuca Thirds had four playing pioneers, one playing seniors, one playing resserves and a couple injured. It was a good win against a good side such as Benalla.

to add to the shires comment, the real test for echuca is coming up on sunday when they play ky. the last 3 weeks have been difficult and the bombers have overcome them. it will be a great match and encourage all those who arnt playing sunday to come down and have a captain b-cos echuca are not that bad this year (unlike previous year) and u may be surprised with how well the boys gel and some of the skills throughout the board. very handy lineup and very few, if any, breaks weaknesses in the chain.
good game today at vic park with kyabram with a close win over echuca. echuca played really really crap with a few out but congrats to ky for being the best side for the day and did have alot of scorin shots. and did play well so should be good next time.
