Just heard Stephen Schwerdt on FiveAA saying Roo has a "tight" hamstring (or something like that) and will be out for two weeks.

Hopefullly this isn't the start of ongoing problems.

From AFC website:

Adelaide captain Mark Ricciuto will miss another two pre-season games to recover from a hamstring strain.

Ricciuto, troubled by some hamstring tightness since returning from minor groin surgery, trained on Monday night but felt sore the following day.

He will now complete two weeks of rehabilitation.

Recruit Jason Porplyzia, who played impressively in Sunday's win over Port, will also miss Saturday night's NAB Cup quarter-final against Hawthorn in Launceston. He has a quad strain.

Defender Ben Hart trained on Wednesday and should press for inclusion, along with Jason Torney.

Brent Reilly, who copped a heavy knock on Sunday, trained lightly but is expected to join full training on Friday morning.

Best to rest him until we really need him. It will be a good chance for the youngsters to see how they go.

Was this the big story on channel 7 news?

I was sitting waiting to see the Doctors and when Graham Gooding’s did his cross to MMM he said a something about the Adelaide Crows and quite a few would not be happy.

Instantly I thought that the AFL had sent a press release out that Bryce Gibbs was not eligible but it only Mark Ricciuto hammy. :D :(

No big deal IMHO.

Its only PS and its a hammy. He should be ready come round 1.

I am a bit disappointed that Porplyzia will miss this week with his injury. I was hoping he could play all of the NAB cup so we can have a better look at him.

Hopefully Reilly is good to play. Another player we need to see in the midfield for an extended period of time.

I hope you're right - but some hammys have the tendency to be a result of more significant problems. Don't want to be a prophet of doom - but hammy problems can be very, very persistent (ask Nathan Buckley).

Only if you come back to early and tear it again. Thats what happened to both Hart and Buckley. Both had calcification in their hammies. Very unusual but caused by re-injuring it over and over again.

Very disappointing, both Porps and Reilly. Two players we wanted to have playing significant midfield roles in the NAB cup. Hopefully they recover quickly and we keep winning and stay in, so we can see some more of them.

Ah the old man is falling apart. Better get use to life without Roo as he seems to have caught the Buckley curse.;)

If i was you I would be a little more worried as last weekend you got a glimpse of what life will be like without Wakelin, Wangas and Wilson, probably in 2007 for angas and wakelin and 2008 for Wilson -

Just a matter of time until Tredders succumbs to the dreaded number 1 jinx too, hey?;) If you thought life was tough without your #1 ruckman the past few years, just wait until you lose your only KP forward.:)

Lets hope they don't start wishing serious injury on other captains like they do their own.
