Here's my entry (went for variety in styles of music to suit every mood)
--------------------------------------------

I've gone for variety to keep all my personalities happy!

1: Recording of the Hawthorn theme song - so every Saturday I can lay back in the sun, shut my eyes and dream of being at the footy

2: West Side Story soundtrack - When you're a jet you're a jet all the way..........Couldnt live without West Side - its a must!

3: A recent Gatecrasher Compilation - (Dance/techno) So I can simulate my own little nightclub for those dull Friday and Saturday nights, have a few cups of coconut juice and boogie away till 5am in the morning!

4: Mozarts Concerto for flute and orchestra K.314 ............. favourite classical piece - sit back and relax to the haunting sounds of the flute backed up by the sea breaking on the shore

5: Harry Connick - It Had To Be You - where would I be without a bit of jazz to spice things up - may help in luring into my nest any young tribesman who may inhabit the island!

6: Jeff Buckley - Grace - truly beautiful album - truly beautiful songwriter - a must, as Molly Meldrum would say "do yourself a favour".

7: Triple J's Hottest 100 #4 - a few years back my neighbours would comment on my singing along to this album - well out on a deserted island I won't have to worry about annoying them any longer - so I can sing to my hearts content!

8: Pulp Fiction Soundtrack - with favorites such as Dusty Springfields Son of a Preacher Man, and the funky sounds of songs like Jungle Boogie - how could I survive without it!

9: Spiderbait - Ivy and the Big Apples - the band from Finley - my home region - many memories attached to this of friends, and drinking, drinking and more drinking in this album......will be able to sit back and reminisce

10: And finally a recording with the Gilligans Island theme song - to remind me that there is hope of escape!

Cheers Mate.:D

The Fauves have got to be one of the most under-rated bands in Australia. Awsome albums like The Yound Need Disipline and Future Spa have some awesome tracks, but they'll always be known for Dogs are the Best People. I also own Lazy Highways and Thousand Yard Stare - both decent albums (although they kind of sold out with Surf City Limits!)

The Jebediah First EP was called "Twitch". My brother picked it up for me at Augogo Records for $10 - what a bargin!:D  :D I doubt you can get it anywhere else nowdays.

Sly77
6 Dec 2001, 20:13
Yeah the Fauves should have reached greater heights. I saw them play not long after the release of Future Spa - they were great. Dogs was the first song I'd heard - so I brought the CD based on that - but loved it all. Didnt like any of the follow up stuff - brought one of their earlier CDs and its utter crap!

As for Jebediah - I heard the song Tracksuit on JJJ one day and thought - hey this is cool - so brought the EP - have loved it ever since. Ha ha - as for bargain - it only cost me $9.95 and that was when it was released!!!!!!

See? Now I've got Prince's Diamond and Pearls on. Haven't had it on for years, and now I remember how good it is!!!! Might have to make a change. But who to take out....????
