Heard Murrabit may have signed a good backman & onballer from CMFL, can anyone shed some light??
Also how is Quamby's recruiting going under "Chopper", he should be able to drag a few mate's out there????

i think you'll find the backman they have signed is Simon Ettershank who is originally a Murrabit bloke who still lives there. Spent two years at Tyntynder where he was more than a handy player. Will be better for his run in the CMFL as is the much higher standard

Tyntynder would be silly to let him go without trying hard to keep him but there is only one club that he will play for next year and thats Murrabit

Is Maso playing or non-playing as he's made more comebacks than John Farnham. If fit he'd still kick 50+ wouldn't he? One of the most athletic footballers going around in his prime and hits the little white pill pretty well also.

I saw Maso kick 5 goals against Ultima last year (should have been 8 but missed a couple of easy ones) it was his first game after 2 years of retirement and about 3 training runs from what I hear. He still gets around the ground as well as the 20 year olds if not better.

He is about as good below his knees as any bloke over 6'2 and still has a good turn of pace. What I have heard is that Macorna have recruited a few tall forwards and Maso will play himself off a half back flank. Don't think he will kick 50+ from there. I hope it works out for the tigers, would be good to see them, Moula and Quamby to have some success it has been a while for all those teams.

Also I see Bellenger has been appointed coach at Avoca, who is Wandella going to give there money to now. I hear Flemming is throwing a bit of Boga's hard earned at some ex-team mates from Murrabit, I don't have names but I'm sure someone hear could start some rumours. I'll start the Hein brothers and Henry, that will do. Josh Bode has offically been appointed coach at the Rams with Fitzy from Hay doing the A/C job, they will have to fight over who plays ruck. Also it might be a nasty rumour but I heard that Lachie O'Toole was heading to Tyntynder to play with Luke, if that happens Willo will have his work cut out holding Ultima's forward line together.

Anyway that's all from the messenger, I will let you know more player movements as they come to hand.

As a Flight Steward, you know that it takes long hours and dealing with tough clientelle such a challenging job. Is Mason going to repeat the days of 1993, think not, thats about 100 years ago, about the same as saying snibs ritchie for Quamby is going to be their big star at full back, Allan Bott for Wandella, Tank Fletcher at rovers, Harry Sambrooks for appin, The list goes on. Get with it tigers he is older than time, if your hopes are on him then you will be holding up the ladder again.

  whatsit2u. If you think Macorna picked him as coach and to be the Wayne Carey of the league your wrong. Macorna picked him as coach cos the experince that he brings to Macorna, from when he was in his prime. So he can help coach the younger players and to help out the players to. Gosh we r not relying on him to kick 60-70+ goals, but if he kcks his 2-3 goals a game that would b great. Its not just him there is another 20 players will have to lift there game. As i watched him Friday night at the meet the Coach he looks like he has the players listening to him and he sounds like a top bloke to. I hope were not down the bottom of the ladder again . We just have to work harder pre season and work as team and try better. I just hope we win a few more games than last year

I do not know the intricacies of the contract that Wandella offered him but he must have asked for a fair raise if we aren't going top honour it.
Also Tube, how is the recruitment coming along at the Windy Hill? Will we be pushing for the four with a little more depthin 2007? Coach Chum, did a great job of moulding what was about half of the 2005 2nds team into a competitve Seniors unit.

I think people are more weary of talking there chances of getting players up until they are signed and sealed. I have noticed that people tend to get ridiculed for suggesting a club may have picked up a player and then for what ever reason it happens to fall through (Appin Vet and his Blake Anderson scoop for example).

I think people also don't want to mention names, espeacially if they are from other local clubs that other clubs may get wind of and go to see them themselves and up there offer or there home club might hear it and go see them with there hand in there pocket to stay.

I may be giving Big Footy to much credit but I am involved at a club at a recruiting level and I know if I saw a rumour of one of our players going to another club I would be on the phone to them 10min later. No one wants to risk losing any player espeiacally with the competition for players being so cut throat.

I know the club I am involved with still has an active list of players still in negotiations of around the 15 mark and we are pretty confident we have around 6 really close at this stage. Why would I mention names if it may risk getting some of those guys over the line. Also if things don't work out for some reason I end up with egg on my face and cop greif for talking my clubs chances up.

This may be a reason why things seem quiet or maybe it's because no one can get players.

Also if things don't work out for some reason I end up with egg on my face and cop greif for talking my clubs chances up.

This may be a reason why things seem quiet or maybe it's because no one can get players.

Nice work:thumbsu: Once the clearances open we may have more of an idea.

NO THANKS BOBBY I KNOW YOUR TYPE.YOUVE EITHER GOT BIG FUZZY HAIR AND SING SONGS WITH YOUR OWN SPIN ON THEM OR YOUR OLD AND FAT AND BALD.BY THE WAY WHERE DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL ? IT IS LAURSEN NOT LAWSON IF YOU ARE GOING TO ADDRESS SOMEONE USE THEIR CORRECT SPELLING FOR THEIR NAME.I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IN TODAYS AGE YOUR TEACHERS WOULD HAVE PUT A BIG EMPHASIS ON YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMER.

Firstly Mr. English, Youve is You've. After By the way you should have had a comma. After Lawson you should have inserted a full stop. After full stops, you should always have a space between that full stop and the next letter. And lastly, in this day and age we don't write entirely in capital letters.

Surely not. Good player but $600? Have we all gone mad? I'm not having a go at 1 player here either but this has all gone too far. It wasn't that long ago that those prices were reserved for the absolute guns kicking ********loads of goals or touching it a dozen times a quarter.

Any word on these boys from Boort?? I would like to hear about this rumour.
Is Demaria still coaching? I am tipping no one from Boort would go if this was the case. He did not impress on the field at his short time in Boort.....

I think you'll find the year he played at Boort he didn't give a toss about footy and wasn't going to play at all. Was only lured by the coach on the proviso that he turn up on a Saturday. Alot has changed since then.

what sort of quote is that:confused: , for starters we left the mallee football league and not the smfl. We did it because we didn't have the numbers and couldn't recruit as we had to play in afganistan. (eg: Yaapeet) Lot less travel for us in GRFL and we can recruit from Swan Hill. Probably can't compare leagues but would say they are very similar in that top 4 in each would be evenly matched. Probably last time you seen Aaron play was in the under 13's, might have improved a bit since then.

Both Caldwells will be lining up for the Swans this year with Pat finishing off the year there and Brenton joining him this year, unsure about the youngest Damien though but he was in and out of the 1's at Woome with the majority being in the 2's...

Both of the older boys more than handle themselves on the footy field...

I watched whichever Caldwell it was play a game for Moula last year. I can answer you where Damian is. It looks like his brother has swallowed him!

Whats this calling Yaapeet afganistan, :thumbsd: you didn't see any towels on our heads did you? Travelling there is a pathetic excuse for not recruiting players. Yaapeet struggled with recruiting but it wasn't because we had to drive to Nully. Why are you complaining about recruiting when you guys only had 2 bloody teams anyway so you should have had enough numbers anyway. Anyway just didn't appreciate Yaapeet being called Afganistan.

Is he looking at starting a super rules side in the woomelang colours,
or just stocking up on some players for the seconds.
