see Murrabit have picked up Josh Dwyer from Glenrowan in the O&K league. Big boy with even bigger hands, Very mobile key possie player usually up front. Capable of 5 goals a game

saw ex-Wakool players Adam Kearney and Clint Wheatley playing for Romsey in the riddell district FL today..
fair to say Kearney seemed to struggle-was smashed all day- but Wheatley went okay booting 3 goals. Romsey went down to Macedon by about 10 goals.

The bus seems to have worked, kicked 5 I see. Also saw a Daniel Irwin playing at Murrabit, is that the same Daniel [ DON ] irwin that played there a few years back, if so how did he go, I thought he was playing in the Murray league

Not sure who this bloke is but 5 goals against Wakool isn't anything to write home about....
So we are at the half way mark of the year, and not once in any game we have played this year has a bloke been penalised for entering the centre square before the ball up. Then on the weekend we have Boundary Umpire Johnny Doyle who pulls 2 out of the hat....why does he think he has to do this all the time??? It could prove to be very costly to a team come finals time. Just ball it in Johnny!!!!

He loves it, we have had him at probably 3 or 4 games this year and he hasn't had a game where he hasn't called one. Picked out 3 of them in one of our games, I think he feels a little out of the action out on the boundary line.

What is your opinion on the game being on the Saturday Snibs? Do you think that the game would have attracted a bigger crowd on the Sunday, as majority of the VCFL matches of the month are infact on the Sundy? What is the reasoning behind it being played on a Saturday?

At the half way point of the year lads so thought I'd toss this up to get some peoples opinions, and to get a bit of chat happening. Very close at the top with three teams only losing 1 game each in the first round, and last years premiers (Murrabit) and prelim finalists (Nully) chasing. Should be an interesting 2nd half of the year. What are your thoughts on;

I'll take a stab to try and rule a few out.
Rookie would have been around your vintage Vet so I will guess Greg Stewart maybe, not sure on that one.
Interleague I reckon I remember Chum playing both games, I was there watching that day, I beleive Anthony Anderson was best on in the Under 19's fixture.

Going back a bit - Steve Strevens (Ultima) and Robbie Styles (Hay) had some big hauls but in the mid 80's Andy Moore (Rovers) regularly kicked double figures and I think had several bags over 15. Very quick left-footer , hard to match up on.

OK Snibs lets talk about footy. Has the Quamby footy club taken any action against Waylan Ritchies 'king hit' from behind in the last quarter on Saturday??? Matt Hayward and Brendan Shephard played footy together last year at Lalbert and were having no more than a push and shove before Waylan ran 50m to king hit Matty from behind. Luckily it connected with the back of his head/ear region and caused no damage. But it was nothing short of a gutless act. On such a big day for Quamby with Ron Barassi and the worksafe crew present it was a disgrace and an embarassment, and was summed up nicely by Ron during his speech at the end of the game, were he made it clear voilence in Country footy should not be tolerated! I should mention some of the Quamby footballers apologised on behalf of the club as we were walking off the field after the game.

Pretty sure it was red, but not accompanied by a report.
He was definately red carded and I was close by when umpire Greame Cathie asked Waylan to put his jumper back on so he can write his number in the book. So I'm pretty sure there should be tribunal appearance for him, and I'd hope quite a few weeks off footy.
For those wondering why his jumper was off the follow up "Melee" resulted in his jumper coming off and a few well deserved smacks to his head! He did have a long sleeve jumper on underneath though.

Interesting that the league has now set a criteria on what needs to be available, having seen the criteria, one thing is for sure that Riverside Park in Kerang does not, would not meet the criteria. Ah yes well done Wh!sPeReR it was indeed Lizard, i think this calls for another question. What were Wakools original colors?
I also think the Wandella vs Murrabit game will be a cracker and should test the depth at Wandella

Maybe you need the huggies foxy because you the one talkin shit. No coach said nothin to me about big footy. I just stopped getting on here because every time I did you and your mates would have a teary. But since I left I see this thread has gone down hill. Very boring indeed! A bit of banter and shit stirring amongst teams is apart of footy. Its gone on for 150 years. So get in to the spirit and stop being a boring old fart.

Apparently Jack Baker from Quamby is a shoe in for the rookie of the year award? Heard he is the best in the comp by far, strong bulky on baller that doesn't mind taking a hit.

Ah not quite sure on that comment KBSHERRIN, Baker is a good young player but my bet would behind Mat Ladson from Macorna, Got great skill on both feet and is built for his age. Baker is a good chance of winning it but i still think Ladson will get over the line.:thumbsu:

Apparently KB you need to get out and actualy watch some footy....Not even in the same league as Matty Ladson!!!
Heard from a very reliable source that a fair few macorna players are on the move to the cohuna kangas.would be a bit of shame but i think thats wats going to happen!

Didnt clearance's finish on june 30/July 1 there benjii? And why would ppl possibly want to leave Macorna now, they're sittin pretty at the top of the ladder in both senior teams?

Just another quote posted with absolutely no basis...Sitting on top of the ladder after alot of years down the bottom, there isn't anyone thinking of leaving!!! And of all clubs definitely not the Cohuna Kangas!!!!!!!

Scotty can play the game certainly. Have had him all season but only started playing about 6-8 weeks ago. Never stops battlin his arse off all day, and wins a lot of the footy. Has been a valuable inclusion to the team both on and off the field!
