Murrabit, Sleeping giants. I don't think so. Where has all this hype come from. They haven't beaten any on the 3 sides above them. As for the magoo's, I'm sorry foxdoog but I think your boy's will go down to the mighty swans.
Is Josh Dwyer still at M/bit after crossing from Glenrowan mid year
As the old story says on Big Footy.....
Dont always belive what u read on Big Footy.............
Ah, Touché!!! :D
I'm still a firm believer of the "Sleeping Giants" remark made earlier, I think that Murrabit always lift a cog or two come the finals, just ask Wandella!! It has been a while since the Tigers have seen September, may get a bout of the 'Tiggiwobbles' come satdy!!!

Hey guys just wondering if anyone in the know from moula can give me an update on how my good mates from geelong way blake 'tampon' limb and tiger o'neill have gone this year? they had any standout games/been consistent?? the lads are pretty pumped for finals action. cheers.
Whats the verdict on the teams for tomorrow's clash??? Any hard luck stories?? From a spectators point of view, let's just hope that the two teams get out there and belt the living suitcases out of one an other!! Bit of fisticuffs would be good!!! :D

Tiges prob carrying a few injuries coming in, could be interesting match...Maybe Cocks will play on Henry and leave Metrovic and Rowe forward. Tip - Blues by 3 points. Money for your thoughts?

Wow. Got that one wrong.
Well what a day of footy yestdy! 2 good games, 2 blow outs! For the senior game Murrabit were simply outstanding and proved that all "sleeping giant" remarks were true! Nathan Henry was a man on a mission killing his dierect opponent. As for Metro, started off like a house on fire then took more satisfaction out of arguing with a supporter rather than getting a kick!! Moultown would be extremely shattered with the loss in the shirt tearers, maybe should have tried to get the percentage in the last home and away game rather than feeding big Garth! And as for Murrabit's under 17 win great effort but post game celebrations were as if they'd won the flag, think about it fella's but was pretty funny watching Hirsty stream out on the ground after the game!!! haha

I think the best premature celebrations go to the Quamby kid that was giving high fives before he missed the goal that enabled the blues to take it down and kick a goal to win the game. At least Hirsty waited for the siren to go before he celebrated :D

HAHA now that was hilarious, poor ol Hindy would have felt like an absolute tool after that effort! Mind u, once he started dishing out the high fives he was always going to miss, is a funny thing karma!

Watched till half time. Looked like it was Nath Henry show. Suprised he only ended up with seven. After being up 6 goals to nil at quarter time, it looked like moula by how far. Well done to your boy's for sticking at it. At the end of the day they probably wanted it a bit more and our boy's thought the job was done. How many free's did Frantzy pay for the day? I vote Frantzy for all four!!!!! :D But will probably find out on satdy morning on the radio, or ring the umpires association! Scott Bourne is hopefully in the goals, gets rather animated as a goal umpire is funny to see. Although the ball is at the other end of the ground, still gets rite into it and shouts commands with his ''manly'' voice! Now the threads getting rather quiet here fella's??? Who's got the tips for this weekend??

Seniors: Really keen to see this game, as Moula have been the best team I've played this year, yet haven't beaten Wandella. Hopefully its a cracker but it's Moula for me by 33points.
Ressies: Should be a quality game. Will go with Nully by 18pts with big Ralphy a welcome inclusion.
Both Unders look like Wandella, hopefully the Nully boys put up a good show.
As we seen last week, anything can happen in the finals!

1999- lost first semi to Macorna (may be corrected)
2000- straight sets to Murrabit and then Nully
2001- lost GF to Nully

2003- lost prelim to Murrabit
2004- straight sets to Nully then Ultima
2005- lost GF to Murrabit
2006- lost First Semi to Murrabit
2007- lost GF to Murrabit.

I just noticed in the Guardian paper that Ben Carter has written in the reserves segment that Murrabit will defeat Nullawil by a point, he has then written that Nullawil will have to make the long trip up to Hay to play against Hay in the prelim final, who have only won 2 games for the year, this information just isnt acceptable, especially at this time of the year and needs to be corrected:thumbsd::mad::thumbsd:
It will be interesting to see whether or not Wandella can get a good start on the Moula boys this weekend, if they can break open a good lead (which I dont think they will) just watch the Moula boys turn on each other and start arguing amongst themselves! As for Frantzy gettin the unders gig, I feel sorry for the Nully boys as ol Ross has had a life long connection with the Wandella Footy Club and the Nully boys will be needing all the help they can get come tomorrow. Any word on the Ressies umpires? Peter Howden great selection for the seniors as he is by far the best umpire in the league

I think some of you guys worry too much about the umpires,if you are good enough to get the ball umpires dont enter into it,as for worrying about an umpire telling players off-lets not get too precious we must have some thin skinned footballers.

I think you been in darwin too long Turner. If you have seen Frantz umpire you would know he's a whistle freak and loves to assert his authority. Seen him going off at a player one day, so the player stuck his fingers in his own ears, so ross payed a 50 against him. Who's thin skinned?

i can see your point but i think its a priority for umpires to assert their authority and take control of the game, nothing worse than an umpire who is technically correct but lets the game get out of control, smart players are quick learners and adapt to different umpires quickly.

Time to hit the panic button and loosen the collars @ Wandella as they didnt look anyway near as good as Moula on the weekend. Weather was a bit off yes, but still no excuse to be trounced the way they were! I'm putting my pennies on a Moulamein Murrabit GF in a coupla weeks time.
As for the Reserves, well Tony Doran is still a freak show there's no doubt about it! Kicking 10 of 12 goals in that weather is unreal! Looks like it maybe back-to-back-to-back for the Nully boys.
She was a bomber show in the juniors in both grades were far too good for Nully looks like it will be a Bomber year for the juniors yet again.

Congrats to Moula, too good on the day, and deserved Grand Finalists, as I said earlier best team I've played against this year.......too bad they let themselves down off the field by bringing there own stubbies into the finals, when the league clearly says no BYO for finals. If you are going to bring your own grog at least bring cans so you fit in.

They did the same thing at Macorna during the year and were spoken to by Macorna officials and league officials letting them no it was not acceptable. It seems the message didn't sink in, teams are doing it tough and if buying a few beers from there bar can help clubs survive all clubs should support each other.

i agree, something like that is obviously organised within the club and for moulas hierachy to allow that to happen is disgusting. at the end of the day we're all in this league together. its getting harder and harder for teams to find funds so we should be all putting money over each others bars.

comiserations murrabit, would have been good to play moula grand final.
well done wandella....wot number will franz be next week?
moula have spent enough money trying to buy this flag and it must be tough having to bring there own beer to save a buck!!!!!
you seem bitter..saucer of milk! If the allegations you make on spectators bringing in own beer were true....wot the hell has that got to do with the club that has recruited well over 3-4 seasons and EARN'T themselves a flag NOT BOUGHT! Try it sometime....:D

Was interesting to see the Hay boys perched up behind the goals drinking their piss that they bought into the ground on satdy, obviously have jack all respect for their own club as u'd expect them to support their own club but enough said.
League vote count tonight, should be interesting but still think Callow for the seniors, either Millard (how's he still eligible?) or Ladson for Rookie of the year, Maqualter for the shirt tearers and Watts for the under 17's.
Bad luck to Murrabit too with the loss of the Prelim. Mad cow, does this mean that Josh Dwyer and Blair Monk cannot play in the Grand Final? Alby Saunders also lookd pretty sore mate?
As for the seniors, well Murrabit staged a pretty handy comeback considering how far they were down by at half time, just needed a bit more time and the results may have varied. Ol Nathan "Magic" Mclean gotta lot of the pill but cant kick over 30metres, but was awesome to watch!

Would be good if someone can post the winners on this blog. Will be interesting to see the out come of who the ump's see as the best and fairest player!!!!!
I will go for Kane Banna Followed by Will Callow and Luke Willson to finish in the top 10 playing for a side that got smashed most weeks.

Am leaning towards Will Callow for the medal, with the best roughie being Willie Cossack. Although Wakool didn't win many games, I think he will poll pretty well.

Leaugue Count Predictions:
For mine, Callow by 5 votes from Brad Hein, Murchie and Bannam as smokies! Daniel Baker in the Unders and will poll a few in twos also!!:thumbsu:

The GRFL night of nights. What a night. One big **** up after another. Jack Baker anounced winner of thirds b&f, mum rang people to tell them, then half an hour later they come up and tell him they !@#^ed up and he didn't win. Poor kid. And then they gave the ressie ump of the year award to a bloke who umpired 1 game for the year. Must have been a good game.:thumbsd::thumbsd:

Well what a nite she was last nite! Poor ol' Jack Baker had to feel bad for him, but it did have to happen if the counting of the votes is incorrect then something must be done about it on the nite! But Kyle Doran did hit the nail on the head, those sorta things shouldnt happen. Not only did Wattsy end up winning it but there was only one trophy made with Baker's name already ingraved on it! Red Hogan did only umpire one game of 2's for the year but I think they got the Under 17's and Reserves umpires mixed up. There also didnt seem to be enough Rookie nomination medals to go around and the repeat of round 13 I think it was in the count was another balls up! But on a lighter note, a very worthy winner in Will Callow has had a fantastic year

Wandella have beaten moul twice during the year when it was dry, so if its dry sat you would think they would be favorites. The only place pudje buckley would be BOG would be at the pub.

Hahahahaha.... Oh me ribs!!! Red Hogan's wins the reserves umpire of the year award by default. I will not let up on him come Wyche cup day.

shouldnt that award went to the kid who has made the furthest in his footy career already and that is kyle symons from ultima. that is harsh, considering he is the only kid to make pioneers from the legue

Granny three days away... Would be good to see who everyone thinks will win and the B.O.G winners.
Seniors: Wandella, i think they will put the 2nd Semi behind them and play like the did during the season... Will Callow B.O.G
Reserves: Nully by 20 points... Jayson Moloney BOG
U17's Wandella.. Pretty confident they will go two years Undefeated and win by about 20-30 points.. But who knows finals is a different game... Too many to choose from but i think Troy Robinson or Aidan Murphy for BOG
U14's Wandella for the Hat-trick Premiership by 10 points... Josh Robinson BOG
Would like to no wat others think...:thumbsu::)

I disagree with you on this one Pratty, I believe that the Rookie of the Year should be decided on whom has had the greatest impact in the GRFL as it is the GRFL Rookie of the year, not who has done the best in surrounding football feats, higher standard or not. You must also remember that Kyle Symons was only in a Bendigo Pioneers U16 youth development squad therefore the kids only young and has plenty of opportunities to win the award in the future. Symons has had no way near the impact at senior level in this competition as Ladson this season who i believe was a very worthy winner.

Shame on you GRFL on vote count.. How can things get stuffed up at league level. I was at the vote count and have neve seen anything like it. Poor Jack Baker it was one of his greatest nights for about 1/2 hr then one of the worse nites. :thumbsd:and who actually adds votes up as they are read........:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:once it has been anounced it should have been left.
The league should do what netball does and give out runner up trophy's anyway. The umpires trophy for ressies a complete joke. I might umpire one game next year and win a trophy. Get your act together Golden Rivers.
Good luck to all teams in Grand Final......

Agree it was a debacle, but can't agree with this point. Plenty of people show interest in how each player went for their club, so it isn't that rare for people to count thier own clubs votes. But it was a lose/lose situation for Jack, and even Wattsy. Jack had to be told on the night, it was the right thing to do....hard to take but the right decision was made. And Wattsy was forgotten amongst all this, he was the winner on his own and thoroughly deserved it, but the Unders count won't be remembered for Wattsy's win, its for Jack's loss now, which is a shame.

Just coz it's not much of a league, Ladson is still a gun its not his fault his faimly is at Macorna. Ladson got the B&F for 3rds last year, symons also played the whole year but didn't win it shows that Ladson is better, He deserved the Rookie.
