Now that Spriggsy's out of the 2002 picture, It would be expected that Geelong would go for an experienced midfielder in the pre-season draft.

The way I see it, there are 3 possibilities:

Tony Brown - Wants to play for Geelong, is local has AFL experience and has won a Magarey Medal in SA. Still only 24.

Aaron Lord - Considering returning to Geelong, Could be a handy goalkicking midfield and come with the added bonus of Livinia Nixon :p :p :p

Adrian Fletcher - It would be ironic is the journey man of football finished where it all began. Has 1 or 2 years left and will take the pressure of Killer and Ricco in the midfield - Been a club captain who always gathers his 25-30 possies a week.

Personally, I'd take Fletcher. We only need him for a couple of years and he would be the perfect teacher for the likes of Enright, Chapman and Corey. SOmeone to take Buddha's spot and also someone who would play for the minimum rate.

I'd be more inclined to look at Tony Brown in the draft. He's the right type of player for the club; a running player who can finish off in front of goal, as well as crumb up forward. He's originally a Geelong boy, so if he's keen he should be looked at seriously.

He was an exciting player for the Saints, but struggled for consistency once the team went downhill. But after a standout year for Port Adelaide, he may be ready to make the step back up to league football.

As for Adrian Fletcher, well he could be an asset, but at 32, you have to wonder whether the coaching staff would be prepared to look at such a short-term proposition when their emphasis has been on building a side from our youth.
