Just a question-He seems to be quite athletically gifted is there a chance that he could play on a wing in an andrew embley type role? Because he doesnt seem to have the agression or power to hold down a chf/ff type role...but i still see him being a decent footballer (dont know what it is he just looks to have something)

I would imagine that he would have the tank to play on a wing but is probably another that would add to our one paced type midfield. I think looking at the drafting of Stokes & Varcoe combined with the added game time given to Tenace & Byrnes in the NAB Cup shows that the cats are trying to add pace to our game, somthing which was obvious at various stages last year. We look to have a little more toe this year and hopefully Varcoe can add to that later in the year.

Look, he could create a missmatch but as I said earlier, he's better off suited to a flanker leading into space. Mackie is another that I would play as a leading forward but start him out of the goal square (simular to round 1 v Richmond 2005) rather than a flank. I would hate to see scores level and Charlie follow his man down to the opposition goal square in the dying seconds only to see him give away a free kick by attempting a screamer from four or five deep. Don't say it wouldn't happen.

Looks like he is working hard this year, well trying anyway, but doesnt have the goods to play, and is not in our best 22.

Trys - but cant cut it!

But could byrnes or varcoe push forward and take a mark?? or could he create a solid marking option on the wing? I think byrnes would be good as an impact player when eitherr bartel ablett kelly corey need a rest from the midfield..where a bigger wing man could make up a good structure around the center. Charlie could play in between the two 50's and always be there for the kick out of defence, then bring running players into the game by giving the hands off to them....just a thought ( i just see him along way behind our other forwards at the moment.

True but that's where I see Milburn, Enright and Mooney when they play wing or on ball, having that tendancy to float into the attacking 50, take a grab and most importantly kick a goal. Probably worth a crack for something different but not a role that he would predominately play IMO. Needs a big year to retain his spot one would think.

Charles cannot improve any more as a footballer.

What we see on the field is the best we'll ever get out of him. He gets to lots of contests on the wing/flank but just isn't good enough to win any of them.

If only someone with some talent could make it to that many contests, they would win a few of them.
