Well its cricket so I thought I would start it here :(

After watching some national indoor cricket I can’t seem to work out how they get the ball to swing so much, I understand the physics behind swinging the ball in the outdoor game but Indoor Cricket the ball is shiny on both sides (well generally).

Anyway is there a indoor cricket superstar who can tell me how they manage to do it so easily ?

I haven't played indoor for ages , but yes the ball does tend to swing a heap more . I would say that it has a lot to do with the ball being lighter than an outdoor ball , but I'm no good at physics so i couldn't give a better explanation than that .

I can remember playing indoor cricket... the ball used to swing a mile... the ball is definitely a lot lighter than a normal cricket ball.. i wonder if the coating they use on the balls is different as well...

Indoor cricket balls are lighter (as others have said) 2 piece balls that are often covered in a varnish/laquer type stuff cos it's cheaper than buying new balls. Also being indoors often means more moisture in the air - according a particularly nerdy friend of mine.
