How is Mark Cosgrove over rated???? Do yo look at the stats mate??
Hodge, by far, ood on the guy for making a double ton, but he won't play another game. Unlucky to get dropped, but he wn't get another international match.

That is for sure. In response to the thread, none of the above - cameron White is the most over rated player.

I have, and hes very average and for the amount of overs he bowls should have more wickets however i do rate Cullen Bailey.

I'd much prefer Bailey in the Australian team, i'd certainly play him ahead of every other spinner in the country except Warne obviously.

Well he'd cut it as an international bowler over your bum buddy Cam white thats for sure. Cullen>Bailey>>>daylight...lots of it>>>>>Cameron white. the bloke is a joke of a bowler, bowls pies.

white is the 2nd or 3rd best spinner in the country behind warney and maybe macgill

well if hes an all rounder then he has no chance, and that assuming we keep our current make-up of the team. symonds and watson are both ahead of him. white couldnt make the team as a bowler or a batsmen.

No, no he is not, you are delusioned if you actually believe this. White isn't even in the top 5, maybe just in the top 10. Warne, MacGill, Cullen, Bailey, Hogg, Casson for God's sake Lehamann, Symonds and a few others are equal with White. White isn't in their league at the minute, maybe one day, but not close now.
Assuming anyone rates him in the first place, I nominate Dominic Thornley.

Its funny seeing White has a better bowling average than Cullen yet White is only a 5th/6th choice bowler and is mainly a batsman, funny that :)

How's Cullen's batting?
hard to split the two isn't it ?
You wouldn't have ever seen White play (apart from the 4 overs for 1 wicket he bowled in the ODIs), and have never seen him bat. So keep your opinions to yourself.

Lucky for him he's a batting all-rounder.

Didn't Clarke win an AB Medal? They're good judges aren't they? He will play for Australia but as is shown in this thread, Cullen is extremely overrated.

Cullen just won Bradman Young Cricketer of the year, so how is that overrated????
White is extremely overrated as a batsmen, if you think he could get a place in the test team as a batsmen that bowls a little well your an idiot, as someone else has said white would be lucky to be in the top ten spinners in the country, and i think would be lucky to be in the top twenty batsmen....based on this he wont be playing for australia in tests anytime soon. Plus he's victorian so he will be ignored by the selectors, just like south australians and tasmanians.
dont get me wrong, i dont mind the guy as a cricketer but i dont think he's anything special.

I'm a Vic, so it's probably traitorous of me, but Hodgey is pretty overrated. Run machine in the Shield games, but he's not up to Test match level I don't think. I don't know anything about Cullen, but he's an up and comer so it's hard to overrate him. Gilly is going through a little bit of a down patch but in general he's a champion, and Phil Jaques and Mark Cosgrove will be future stars in the Aussie batting lineup.
Most overated? Mike Hussey. I am a big fan and all but he is not as good as some people are rating him at the moment. Needs to hold it together for a few more years before he deserves the kudos he get right now.

I'd say Hodge,
Most the Vics I talk to seem to think he is one of the best players  :thumbsd:
Hodge never even heard of him then all of a sudden he is playing for Australia atleast I had heard of Mick Lewis before he started playing for Aus.

Hodge has only been around the first-class scene for about 5 more years than Lewis, you've never heard his name in squad selection talks in previous years?

So true. This poll is stupid because it doesn't include enough players to vote for. How anyone could think Jaques or Gilchrist are overated, I dont know, but I dont think Brad Hodge is overrated, he's just getting the votes coz he's victorian (and white isnt there).
