Just like to congratulate the Cats on their premiership win. I watched the game early this morning, in between the cricket.

Fantastic effort to beat the odds & the Crows on enemy territory.

I won't wish you luck for Round 1, but I do wish you luck for the season.

L.Lion thanks for that!!

I am stuck at work ALL day (hence missing out on all the celebrations down at KP  ), so everyones words of congratulations, especially from opposition club supporters, are really making my day!

Thanks y'all!

I'm stoked. This is a very important win, not just for winning some silverware, but it teaches us how to win the big, important games. It's important that this leads to bigger things, such as the 2006 AFL Day Premiership. I've wanted to write this for so long.

GEELONG CATS- 2006 (NAB CUP) PREMIERS

Hopefully I can write soon::)

i wouldnt call it a big important game, just remember what happened to carlton
dont get too excited over it as its still only a trial game, a win in round 1 is more important
well played though, not sure how we lost it, and we desperately need the best player in the comp (Roo) back
i cant see you lot 'doing a Carlton' though, you SHOULD have a good year but time will tell.. if you beat Port everytime you play them this year ill buy a Cat membership

Congratulations on the game!

Well fought out and played and you guys deserved to win. No excuses here! I don't think I could have seen a better team win and you guyz earnt your trophy. Despite it being preseason it was still a momentous occasion for your lot!

Well done!

Haha.. you have money to chuck around for other clubs memberships, but wouldnt pay $35 for your teams premiership?? (nb. stop calling it a trial match. We got a nice big cheque for beating you, nice medals and a shiny cup! I don't care what everyone else says i'm over the MOON!)

we dont need the money we are filthy rich
filthy i tells ya
we could buy your team i reckon, when i have a meeting with Crow management tomorrow arvo i will suggest buying your ground and calling it Crow Stadium, its better than Skilled or whatever it is now
it is a trial, when the real stuff starts people forget. Carlton won the preseason cup AND an addition to their soup kitchen in one year!

and ive already spent money on two premiership games

by the time Geelong finally win another Real flag, me and you (shelly baby) will be married with grandkids

Boo Hoo! Your posts sound a trite sour. Let the Cats have their moment of glory. I think they'll win the day flag before the Crows win their next.

Money doesn't always equate to success. Look at Collingwood.

Hey Rooster Lad, have you heard the words; "Humble in Victory, Gracious in Defeat". ?

There are no such thing as Geelong bandwagoners. Only down Richmond way you'll find those ;)

Well done Geelong. You were the favourites and you won. Some people criticise the preseason comp, but the fact of the matter is that every other club would like to be in your shoes. Feel free to keep partying all week, and all of next week as well. You deserve it.

Well done Cats. You were down & out after the 1st quarter & showed great spirit to come back. Headed again & back you came again.

It was a win to be proud of. Congratulations.

Congratulations on the win the other night. :thumbsu:
I do & have always had a soft spot for Geelong since i'm related to a few of your players - the Nankervis boys to be precise.
Your team played with so much intensity, passion & desire for each other so in the end it was really pleasing that you may have finally got that monkey off your back.
I hope that if my team can't win the flag this year, that you guys can go all the way & win the premiership.
You've got such a really even team at the moment, but i'm still a little worried about your marking forwards ability regarding taking contested marks when the pressure is being really applied eg. cut throat finals as i feel that has been your teams only downfall the last few finals appearances.
Also good luck for the rest of the year, except for whenever you play Port ;)
