Rooke IS tough and impresses more each time he gets on the park. Will Slade showed he well and truly has it too - he lacks no courage.

Rooke has impressed me this pre-season. I havent really seen all that much of him before then to be honest. He seem tough and has got plenty of talent! :)
Oh and Will Slade is as tough as nails! He is so courages and did you see he almost knocked 2 guys out on Saturday?! LMAO His soooooo cool! I love him. ;) hahaha (No, i'm not 16!)
Listened to the triple m broadcast over here in London and they were bagging Slade about going in one handed several times. Any unbiased opinions from people that are not star struck teenage girls want to elaberate on or expell this?

He did alright, did a couple of good things and had some good second efforts. Did a couple of big fendoffs that caught players high which may have a few questions asked midweek. Wasnt brilliant but had a pretty solid game. You cant "blame" him for the fend off, the dont argue us an actual skill now days, just ask Jnr and Chappy. But this is off topic cause
ROOKE IS ONE TOUGH ********

Are you sure, he hasnt exactly come from nowhere. This guy has been a tough ball of toughness since he started. RUINED Judd last year at the cattery by staring at him. Been on his bandwagon since his first season, this is the type of bloke you count on to die trying.
One of the few who's tackles stuck when they most needed to. Smother on Jericho was brilliant.

Rooke is one of my favourites, up there with the Jim. Super tough and that's also why i've liked Slade this pre-season.

Gotta say I have a big soft spot for Rookie. He's not big on the flash but geez does he have some heart and some go in him. I reckon he epitomises the club and its attitude.

And Mike Shehan doesn't even rate him in our top 22, what a joke!

In the early days he was not my favourite player. I thought he gave away too many stupid free kicks and made too many silly errors.
But he has really changed my mind. I have nothing but respect for him now. He and Cameron Mooney are standouts with their attitude.

to be honest i never thought much of Rooke... he always seemed too slow to get rid of the ball and seemed error prone... however in the last 12 months he has improved out of sight... his hardness and desperation have become a vital cog of our backline... his smother in the third quarter when the cause looked lost typifies what I've come to appreciate about him... Regardless of what Sheehan reckons this man is definitely in our best 22

It must be remembered that he hadn’t played a senior match in the AFL since 2003 before being struck down with the dreaded osteitis pubis for two seasons.
For someone of such inexperience, it is great to see him forge his way back into the team.

Doesn't know how to give up. Cats took a risk in Rookie listing him as being from Casterton he was to far out to travel to play TAC Cup. His old man apparently harrassed the Geelong recruiting department to give his son a chance sending them tapes of his games together with times & results of time trials, beep tests and so on every week for about a year. I think he kicked a ton from memory in his last year of juniors and the cats came to the party. Tireless worker that gives his all week in week out.

he made Ben Hart his tackling bitch in the NAB game, got him with a couple of absolute throwdowns that would have made a Gracie proud.

Thompson sure does know how to pluck gun players from nowhere:
*Jarad Rooke- Didn't come through the TAC cup. Completely off the radar.
*Matt Egan- Mature age recruit. Damn fine for a pick in the 60s.
*Will Slade- Hasn't played for two years because of the dreaded OP but definitely in our best 22 on NAB cup form. Shame he's a rookie
*Dave Johnson- going nowhere at Essendon, looked like doing nothing but fumble and break down injured after two seasons, but is now a pretty good defender.

No true. The Western Border FL kids get there chance with the Ballarat Rebels squad. They simply didn't want Jarad.
Saw him play CHF for Casterton one week, had no idea that I'd be watching him for virtually the rest of his career everyweek.
Thank you Mr. Rooke btw :D

I'd say the latter, and he ignores alot of stuff.
