Kane Cornes is now wearing Grave Danger's old number....ironic.
Every #25 we've had has won a Rising Star nomination (Go Dom!)
Every former #25 (Eagleton, Bode) we've had has had a bad season the year after they changed number, and has been traded.
Lade reckons he's changing numbers because #20 hasn't been good to him.
Why did Allan Murray bother shifting from 40 to 37?

Good to finally see someone deserving of Scottys number as well...Hardwick will do it proud!

I wish him well....
Correct me if I am wrong but neither Scott Hodges or Grave Danger played a game for Port Power.
so comaparing players with their numbers is quite silly.
So really hardwick is just as much wearing Tony McGuinesses number as Scott Hodges - as both played the same number of AFL games for the Power.

You know what Jars...in a way your right. Scott Hodges actually played an Ansett Cup game and a few trials for Port. Grave Danger did not.
Anyway...its the same club...different league. Port Power football club didnt get accepted into the league. Port Adelaide Football Club did. That Port Adelaide Football Club played SANFL for 125+ years. That Port Adelaide Football Club is now in the AFL, with a different nickname and guernsey.
Quite simple really.

Well not that simple
As Port Adelaide announce a record profit
YET - the football club announce a loss
The Licencsed club is seperate - yet include in Ports record profit
Now both PAFC and PAMFC share the profits from the licensed club
To me the whole arrangement is shonky and the Port club or clubs are pulling a swifty on the whole SANFL
Its just Leigh and Max are too stupid or gutless to do anything about it.
Jars, we'll let you know when we care what you think :D
#18 was Dave Granger, and now Graham Cornes' son is wearing the same number for Port. Thats a pretty good irony

I'm so jealous of Crows fans - they draw their heritage from nine clubs, but we've got only one ;)

David Granger played for the Port Adelaide Football Club at the highest level available to the club in his time...The SANFL equivalent to the VFL at the same Period.
Chad and Kane Cornes play for thePort Adelaide Football Club at the highest level available to the club..in the AFL the new National league that has replaced the former regional Victorian Football league..
The Port Adelaide Football Club est 1870. formerly "the Magpies" now
"the Power " ....(who are Port Power incidentally ?) Winners of 34 league premierships the equivalent to pre 1990 VFL premierships, at the highest level available to the club prior to 1990.

Macca and Grave....Just out of interest...walk me through this..
If Manchester United dont play a game int the English FA in 2002 and play all their games in another European league or South American League or some such.... and they win the title of that league...Is it recorded in the Clubs History and do es everyone recognise the win /wins ?
or a re the club deemed not to exist for the year and all their records, players numbers etc..viewed as non entities for the year....are they recognised as Manchester United by the new league..even if they wear a different strip to their original?
If they rejoin the English FA are they accorded their records from the moment they rejoin the FA or are their records recognised from their Birth in the 1800's..including wins in different divisions ?
are the Manchester United Football Club Still Manchester United if they shift leagues ? ( I've used Manchester as an example..it could be any Club)
Thanks guys...

Another analogy...
Glasgow Celtic (or Rangers) - dominant in a smaller (although respectable) level competition, reckon they're a stong enough club to mix it with the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc. This is accepted by the powers that be in the English FA and they are granted entry into Mr Murdoch's new UK League.
However, the Scottish FA, fearing the withdrawal of one of their major drawcards plead with the club to retain the Celtic/Rangers name in the Scottish FA, so while most of the best players move to the UK League team (together with other Scottish lads good enough to get an invte, and a group of top level signings from all over Europe), the Celtic/Rangers colours are still there to be loved and hated by the Scottish locals.
And they truly have the best of both worlds - their famous club is now taking on the best the Sassenachs can throw at them and the local team is still proudly flying the flag...

Guy`s ,would another slant on your history also pertain that now the adelaide crows are able to claim one ninth of your rich and great past glory.(from your magpie affiliation)
Just a thought in passing.
Go the Hawks
(To all the Power and Crow supporters have a merry and safe Xmas and new year, can`t wait for the new season)

i would say yes it is recognised in the clubs history.

they are still the same Man United - just in a different league

the wins in different divisions would be included in the records but would be noted it was in a different division

Yes

The thing that ****s us off is people forgetting the history.
Commentators can all rattle off Essendon's 16 premierships, and so on, but they keep talking about Port as a new club, when its not. 5 years in the AFL, sure, but a lot more than that as a club.
When you hear about most soccer clubs, like Manchester United, you frequently hear about all the different little championships they've won. And when teams from different leagues play each other, there's actual respect for their history/background. So what if Juventus and Manchester Utd don't compete in the same league? Their history still counts when they play each other, and it adds.
Port gets **** all respect, because Victoria can't be ****ed learning about it. How hard is it?

And you my friend are a nasty pasty
Lighten up will you
I agree with what you are saying in actual fact.
So the PAMFC only have 3 premierships and virtually no history or tradition in the SANFL - pretty sad really
Centrals will catch up to them next year in premierships and I am sure no one at the games will be saying - Shut up Wnaker Port have won 35 Premierships!!!(or however many - who cares)!
Can't have it both ways.

Actually, you can, apparently.
The problem at the moment is that ******** AFL supporters don't recognise our premierships, and ******** SANFL supports don't recognise our premierships.
