White Stripes was the sealer. So much for the rumours of Soulfly or REM, but I absolutely love White Stripes, so I'll be going for sure.
See ya there Craigos! ;) :D

Ya its too compensate for not getting Alien Ant Farm and System of the Down. Seems pretty fair to me :D

The Big Day Out is going to be ****house in my opinion. They need better bands.
Bring back RATM. System of a Down will be good, but we need some Pantera, Slayer, COC or something to liven the pussies up.
CFH.

No heavy/thrash metal band will ever be on BDO. Never. I wouldnt want them on the BDO either. Id much rather them play a 1 1/2 hour-2 hour private show than have 45mins to an hour on a BDO stage.

Fear Factory are pretty heavy (or were ;) ), and they've played.
Local acts such as Allegiance & Cryogenic have played....
I'm sure there's been others too
I'd rather see them do a full set in a club too, but if BDO actually gives them the incentive of appearing - bring it on!
PS. i'm definitely not going this year - a VERY poor lineup IMHO.

that was before the Limp Bizkit tragedy last year tho.

Yeah Adelaide has had a couple of heavy local bands play such as Day Of Contempt in past years but they are on the local stage which usually gets aobut 150 people watching them

Im going twice this year....once in Melbourne to watch all the main stage bands and System Of A Down....and going to Adelaide to have an E and go nuts in the Boiler Room

It was never going to be as big as other years this year because of the Limp Bizkit tragedy last year in Sydney. I'ts just a knee jerk reaction by big fat guys in suits who believe that this is the best for everyone.
For almost $100 you can go and see about 10 bands with tighter security that a Uruguay Soccer game just to get sunburnt and waste more money on overpriced food and drink!
Big Days Out in the past were great, but its rapidly heading downhill.

The Big Day Out has been ****ed ever since they moved the Boiler Room to the main arena. (in Melbourne anyway, i don't know about other cities.)
It's still good value though - you get to see a ****load of bands that you normally probably wouldn't ever bother to check out.
Bands like Atari Teenage Riot - i'd never go to one of their shows, but i was up the front when they were on. (last year i think?) That's the good thing about it. It's just a shame there's so many idiots there now. It was good in the old days....but i'll still be there this year.
And there's been WAY too many people there the past few years. Hopefully this year, people might be able to get from the RRR stage to the main arena in less than an hour....

In Adeliade they have the BDO at the Showgrounds. The Boiler Room in Adelaide is in 'the Showbag hall' while the two main stages are on the oval. The third stage is in the 'food hall' and the fourth stage is way over the other side of the arena.
As for Atari Teenage Riot - eek....the worst live band ive ever seen in my life. I dunno about in Melbourne...but all they played here was noise. Just this way too loud reverberating strange guitar noise which drowned out any other sounds the band mate. They sounded to me like what i imagine a Dinosaur fart to sound like. Very dissapointing they were

In Melbourne, the Boiler Room is on the main arena, near the 2 main stages. It shhit. Too many people in the one area. The only good thing is that you can get from the main stages to the Boiler Room quickly, but getting IN to the Boiler Room is a challenge in itself. The best BDO experience i've had was off my face in the OLD Boiler Room watching pre-Breathe Prodigy. There were people literally hanging off the walls with sweat dripping off them. Awesome!

They'd be a great final act i reckon. :) Everyone's wasted, it's dark - and the scene is brought together by a band making pure noise and a chick screaming "Deutschland has gotta DIE!!!!!" A recipe for mayhem! I love it!
