My predicted top 3 at the end of the year.
1. C. Cornes
2. Tredrea
3. K. Cornes

And can we have a 3-2-1 for the 'junior' player of the round? No age or starting year requirements, just that they have to have played less then 50 games before round 1 2006. Unless Choco is spinning crap on selections (highly possible admittedly), we should have the likes of Chaplin, Ebert, Salopek, Symes, White and Pettigrew to pick amongst for a lot of games this year.

Not a bad idea at least this year there will be the chance to name a varying amount of players instead of the last time we tried it. I seem to recall the same three players (Broges and JB being 2 can't remember who the third was) being voted for in various combinations.

Should be fun this year seeing all of the newbies running around at one time or another. :thumbsu:

FWIW
3- Chad
2- JB
1- Kane

Quite a bit different.

Yes we can have a junior player of the year. Ill put a list together of the candidates tonight

It's a 50-50. I said under 50 games as we have a few, due to questionable selections in the past, are still only just starting at the top level.

I reckon under 50 games is the way to go. Damon and Ebo should still be eligible IMO. :)

I don't see how it can be fair to the actual recent draftees that he's still up against them...if Danyle Pearce finishes behind him, well, he's been dudded.

Edit: Here's the list with year of birth.

Jonathan Giles - 1988
Hugh Minson - 1988
Alipate Carlile - 1987
Fabian Deluca - 1987
Ben Eckermann - 1987
Nick Lower - 1987
Matt Thomas - 1987
Ryan Willits - 1987
Troy Chaplin - 1986
James Ezard - 1986
Danyle Pearce - 1986
Adam Thomson - 1986
Michael Pettigrew - 1985
Steven Salopek - 1985
Jacob Surjan - 1985
Brad Symes - 1985

No-one born in 1984

Brett Ebert - 1983
Damon White - 1983
Elijah Ware - 1983

Ebert and White have at least two years on every other nominee, and are still at the same stage of development as some of them. I don't see how it could be fair, or accurate, to describe either as the Young Gun of the year if they finally perform.

It is a fair point. What about Ware then? Hes the same age but hasnt debuted yet.

I dont want a set under 50 games limit as that includes Thurstans and Motlop.

I think we will remove Ebert and White from the list.

2 - Matthew Primus (220) / Warren Tredrea (145)
3 - Warren Tredrea (175) / Chad Cornes (134)

Josh Francou finished =3rd in the Best and Fairest with Cornes. Cornes finished 6th in the BigFooty POTY

2003:
BIGFOOTY / BEST AND FAIREST
1 - Gavin Wanganeen (365) / Gavin Wanganeen (224)
2 - Warren Tredrea (310) / Warren Tredrea (201)
3 - Peter Burgoyne (221) / Peter Burgoyne (168)

2004:
BIGFOOTY / BEST AND FAIREST
1 - Kane Cornes (331) / Warren Tredrea (236)

2 - Stuart Dew (233) / Kane Cornes (173)
3 - Chad Cornes (225) / Dom Cassisi (155)

Chad finished 4th in the Best and Fairest. Dew finished 8th. Kane finished 4th in the BF POTY and Dom finished 9th.

So apart from last year, its been pretty similar.
