I'm having a pleasant sunday morning watching the replay and Dennis, talking about Bobby Murphy, said "...leaves the ball behind. NO HE DOESNT! Oh he made himself invisible, hid and then came up from beneath the leaves and branches and ran away wth the ball"

Dennis seems to have a real soft spot for us (maybe it stems from his short stint at the club). Definitely my favourite commentator - he's always spot on, doesn't deal in cliches, and comes up with some killer one liners.
And Crossy's one of his new favourites!

I really wish I had taped the game now.
I presume we'll be on delay on Ch 10 next Saturday so the VCR will be set.

Unfortunatly now "centremetre perfect" and "gunbarrell straight" have become cliches :(

Did you hear Lyon and Commetti talking about round 13 when Cross would go up against Judd, and Commetti commented that he couldn't wait.
I really wish I had taped the game now.

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting the Dennis Committee 2 years ago. (sat next to me on a plane, the poor man!)
He is an honest to god extremely top bloke, more then happy to listen to me dribble on, we had a long chat about many different things.
I asked him about the dogs, he admits he has a very soft spot for our team.
I can't remember the full story, but he came from Perth to Melbourne to work for a radio station, and somehow ended up at Footscray. Played about half a season of magoos before he returned back to Perth for work.
He reads the channel 9 sports news in Perth as well as doing the footy, presumably his contract @ channel Eddie runs out @ the end of this year, and he can switch back to Channel 7.

Dennis Commetti is my favourite commentator...he is entertaining to listen to and his precision in his calling is amazing. Always has good things to say about the Dogs.
