Anyone notice the tackle count today. 31. We hardly ever win with a tackle count below 50. Then have a look:

M Carr 0 tackles
D Gilmore 0 tackles
H Black 0 tackles
J Carr 1 tackle
J Walker 2 tackles
M Pavlich 2 tackles.

P Haselby 4 tackles
D Headland 4 tackles
S MACMANUS 6 FUNCKING TACKLES !!! 20% of the total team tackles.

Drop Walker, drop M Carr, drop Gilmore. Forget speed. Get grunt.

Get Cook, get Grover, get Haines. Play Dodd and Crowley more.

I'm with you Dr Ralph.

Except I would probably anyone who is racking up stats for themselves as well.

There is no "I" in team.

The way they played today against the hawks most of them racked up a lot of useless stats.

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread to point out we had 49 tackles against Port. Not quite 50 but we won the game.

I reckon there is something in the fact that when we are on we tackle and when we are not on we don't tackle.

Thoughts?

Agree completely. I thought of you counting the tackles while watching the game whenever we had a really strong tackling period.

I said to myself, "Self , Dr Ralph will be really pleased at the moment"

Sadly, I had to watch the game on DVD as spent afternoon at work.

I only count Schammer's missed targets which has become very pointless. The little bugger is nailing them.

Nice work Byron! Always nice to prove someone wrong when they doubt you!! And I'm sure the good Dr Dagg is happy to be proven wrong on this occasion... ;)

Also, if it's possible to have a "favourite tackle" - mine was definitely that solid brick wall that was Grover when that Poort fella had the ball and was heading towards the open goal. Crunch. Down. Ouch. :thumbsu: to Grovesy!

Terrific. wasn't it. We are so lucky to have such a talent in our team.

Polak on Burgoyne wasn't half bad either.

I bet u cant name a better tackler than mad dog. Even front on he'll risk himself to give his all

i know a big culprit of this is M.Carr no tackles more often just wants to try and take of peoples heads and bump them...instead of a hard tackle..

i have feeling walker back this week to give us run i nthe backline and match up on some crows midfielders

pitty it wont be duffield....any idea how walker did in wafl round 4?
