Marianne is fantastic, she was really big in the 60's 70's, you can buy best of CD's of her work, her best album was simply titled "Marianne Faithfull", which I still have the original vinyl of.

Unfortunately after that the drugs, booze & ciggies changed her voice totally, but she is still great.:)

Actually, it was AFTER the drugs, booze and ciggies changed her voice that she did her best stuff. About 1980 she released a killer album called "Broken English". The highlight is the closing track ... "Why D'Ya Do It" ...

"Why d'ya do it, she said
Why d'ya let that trash
Get a hold of your c.o.c.k
And get stoned on my hash"

And that was probably the LEAST offensive verse.

Other classic lines like :

"You just tied me to the mast of the ship of fools"

Or this verse:

"Why d'ya do it, she said
When you know it makes me sore
She had cobwebs up her fanny
And I believe in giving to the poor"

All of this sung in the most heroin chic voice of all time, over a reggae beat punctuated with power chords.

Now ... that's my kinda woman.
