For the last two seasons we have looked back at Lauceston and said "Only if we had won in Tassie". Looks like this year will be no different !!

I'd suggest that your teams pea-heart efforts are more of an achillies heel than any ground in Australia.

Perfect playing conditions, went over early, fully fit side and supposedly in good form. Out coached out played.

Don't make excuses for a ******** weak effort.

How refreshing to read an honest appraisal by a realist as opposed to some of the pis weak excuses put forward by many of the blind optomists who call themselves Freo supporters.

Give the guy some credit, if any supporter of another club is qualified to recognise pea hearted efforts, it's a geelong supporter. It's no coincidence that the 2 half decent teams we beat away from home last year are just as soft as we are.

Gotta acknowledge its a tough tough road trip for your team and would not be easy.

Which begs the question why you guys dont charter a plane direct Perth to Launceston? Cost? How much is 4 premiership points worth to Freo?

Surely a guy like Sandilands needs a lotta leg room. A chartered plane they could take out 2 rows to let him stretch out. Give away prizes on radio, make it a strong promotional oppurtunity, fill the plane with supporters.

All I can say with what 5 losses in a row at this venue you guys need to try something different because whatever you doing at the moment is not working.

Good luck for the rest of the year except for Rd 18 of course :)

Rusty thats not an issue anymore, All launceston games now have direct flights in both directions. Launceston is no more of a road trip than Melbourne is. York Park in all intense and purposes should be neutral ground for both sides. If we can win in Melbourne we should be able to win in Tassie.

Sadly enough I have to agree as well.

Interesting. Certainly the perception in Melbourne and our media and I think even the Ch9 commentary team is that Freo have to change planes and wait around etc, that it is "the toughest road trip in the AFL" was a common comment.

If anyone wants proof that we get direct flights, log on to the Qantas website and search for a flight from Perth to Launceston on 28/4 and returning on 30/4 (we play again there on the 30th). You can see direct flights both ways on those days that Qantas don't normally do.

Costs $625 return if anyone wants to get on it.
