Well seeing as though they've beaten Sri Lanka 5-1, Pakistan 4-1, South Africa 3-3 and England currently (touchwood) 3-0 - are India the second best ODI team in the World after Australia?

The team consists of

1. Rahul Dravid*
2. Virender Sehwag (vc)
3. Yuvraj Singh
4. Mohommad Kaif
5. Irfan Pathan
6. Mahendra Singh Dhoni+
7. Suresh Raina
8. Sree Santh
9. Munaf Patel
10. RP Singh
11. Harbhajan Singh
12. Ramesh Powar
13. Robin Uthappa
14. Piyush Chawla
15. Ajit Agarkar

The most important thing to note from all this is that those listed in bold are 25 years of age and younger ...

Now that Trevor Hohns gone, will Australia adopt a more youth orientated lineup heading towards the World Cup - or will the fear of not winning the Ashes back make selectors resort to choosing the 'old hands'?

When India complete their 7-0 series win over England, will that make them the holders of the biggest series margin of victory ever?

:o

Pleeeeeeeeeease,

Last time we faced you, you were lucky to escape with 3-3. You couldn't even beat Sri Lanka down in Australia whereas we beat them 5-1? :)

Oh no, you're turning into them Philly :(

The fact we drew 3-3 shows you how low India were at that time, like anytime, take out their best bowler, best allrounder and a good bowler also the best ODI bowler in the world out, and they would struggle.

India are better than South Africa. They struggled to win a single game Down Under and even though they did beat us over there.. 3-2 is hardly a dominant scoreline.

The only problem i see with India is they can be inconsistent at times, but lately they seem to have arrested that and their recent performances have been great. They will definately be a contender in the World Cup, but i bet they are scared to face the Aussies in the Final :p

Beating the Aussies 3-2 > beating Sri Lanka 10-0.

If you cant even beat Sri Lanka in australia you are a disgrace. You had a once off series win, doesnt make up for the fact you are chokers.
We choked in some unknown bank one day tournament
you choke in a world cup semi

Man, so thats a loss to the 2nd best ODI team in the world and the 2nd best test team?

Australia on the way down IMO.

Which 1 off series win fell into the 20 wins in a row?

Fair enough mate, nah im not having a go at South Africa, I reckon they have the basis of a really good team, given team politics doesn't come into it!

On the other foot, England will get some respect from me when they actually make a final and win/dont choke?

Remember Champions Trophy? You weren't outplayed, West Indies were 8 down and you just couldn't hold 'em.

statistically speaking perhaps but i'm with roosterlad, i'd prefer to hold the world cup than a world record

i don't like to use the term choke because it's a pooor way to describe a beaten opponent but south africa dropped the ball on a much bigger stage

You must have been the biggest FAV in WORLD HISTORY and you guys LOST ie: CHOKED.

see above

Australia on the way down IMO

now you are getting desperate...we beat you 5-0 across 6 Tests - show some ******* respect

i think it's obvious that we are in the process of rebuilding our team and yet have remained no 1 in the world in both forms of the game throughout

i'm looking forward to another generation of Australian dominance of SA cricket...'choke' on that mate

(apologies to all saffer fans who aren't F/D)

We dont claim to be the 2nd best ODI team in the world, most ENgland fans will admit we suck and dont really care, so who cares? I laugh at teams who lose to us, Australia are our bitches it seems, we are down the bottom, they are at the top and in the last 3 years we are even with them on head to head :p and if you count the 20/20, we are ahead :D
