This Saturday is the start of the 2006 TRUenergy VFL season.

And as in season 2005 SEN 1116 each Saturday will be again calling all the action with a weekly live Match day broadcast.

This Saturday April 8 - Round 1 from 12.00 noon from the Burbank Oval, home of the Williamstown Football Club, the Seagulls will host the Box Hill Hawks.

Liam Pickering and David (the Ox) Schwartz will take up the call with Heath Buck again in the stats chair, Mark Stone & Matt Lee see all the colour from the boundary line in this first round clash.

SEN will travel around the grounds and get updates on other round one matches and take your calls.

There will be interviews with coaches from both Williamstown & Box Hill, leading players, VFL / AFL Personnel and personalities from both clubs.

In addition to our Round One match don't forget to listen in each and every Wednesday night 9 -10pm during the footy season to "the VFL Hour" hosted by Bruce Eva.

Weekly you will hear from stars of the TRUenergy competition, your opinions and may even take a trip down memory lane with the stars from yesteryear.

The buffoon who was co-hosting with Bruce Eva, Stoney I think his name was, is possibly the worst radio host I have ever heard. He mumbled and continually repeated himself throughout the whole hour. He was truly aweful.

Who is he and how on earth did he get a gig on radio?

Mark Stone has been reporting on the VFL and is the boundary rider for their VFL coverage since SEN began.

Mark Stone has been reporting on the VFL and is the boundary rider for their VFL coverage since SEN began.Fair enough. To be honest it's the first I have ever heard of him. Thought he was very ordinary in the studio tonight. He didn't appear to know much about the VFL at all and his speaking voice and delivery is shocking. I'm an avid follower and I could see right through him.

Being a bit of a night owl myself I listened to the new VFL hour, thought the start was pretty good. Stoney has been doing VFL for some 3 years now and has always in the past has been always pretty up with his VFL knowledge, I think your being a bit harsh first up with the man, and i think its great we have a VFL forum on radio in which to listen. Just my point of view.

RealityI agree totally. I really like the VFL and it's great we have VFL football exposed on commercial radio (sen).

However if they are going to do it I wish they would do it professionally. As I say I have never heard of Mark Stone before and on his performance last night I will probably not bother tuning in again.

Surely there must be someone else in VFL ranks who could a better job. The other chap Bruce Eva was good but unfortunately Mark Stone doesn't quite cut at commercial radio level. Maybe community radio is more his kettle of fish.
