5. Ryan Crowley - Incredibly dangerous and polished player. Worried me more than anyone on the night.
4. Andrew Walker - Considering how often the ball got down there and we were under pressure, I loved the way Walker backed himself and ran hard and was very decisive in his decision making. 20 possessions and 6 marks in defence beats many player getting 25+ possessions in some of the midfield keepings off duels.
3. Brendan Fevola - 6 goals, our only shining light up forward. Looking for a consistent 2006.
2. Josh Carr - ran and created all night.
1. Lance Whitnall - Backline general yet again. Just knew where to be most of the time.

Freo won the game through having the classier finishers but it was an extremely even game as far as the best players go. Stats are not everything.

Honourable mentions to McManus, Headland, Black, McPharlin and Bell for Freo. Koutoufides, Houlihan, Bentick and Carrazzo for Carlton.
